The conversion took a total of three weeks. Good choice of doors/veneers. The work was thoroughly explained so there were no surprises. They inspected all materials immediately when they got them (doors, drawers, fronts, veneer) so if there was damage (hey, stuff happens) there was minimal wait time to replace. They work very clean - they put tarps in the doorways to prevent dust from spreading around the house. Mike, our installer, was a true craftsman. The cabinets are beautiful now. We went from whitewashed oak to a darker red oak. Mike suggested the conversion of our kitchen desk into more drawer space, then designed, built and faced it. I now have a place for things like tablecloths, napkins, runners and placements which previously were shoved into other closets. During a follow-up visit to install a cabinet door that was damaged during shipping, Mike even noticed that our newly installed faucet was leaking into the cabinet below so he fixed our faucet (!). For free. When you call this company you will find that 1) they pick up the phone on Saturdays, 2) the manager will very often pick up the phone, and 3) they are very eager to make sure you are happy. You just can't go wrong here. We could have been a little happier with the countertop guy they suggested (he tried hard but we had issues - that was our choice, though) but for the refacing we would definitely recommend American Kitchen Refacing. Thanks to Dan, Mike, Mike and Cheryl. They know what customers want and they try hard to make it happen. You can't go wrong here.

We decided to finally look into refacing as a possible option for this 30-year-old kitchen. We were concerned about picking a reputable contractor, so we read many of the reviews on Angie's List . We ultimately chose American Kitchen Refacing due to their positive reviews. We were not disappointed. We contacted American Kitchen Refacing through Angie's List and were immediately contacted within the day. We arranged to meet for a free estimate. We met with Sales Manager, Daniel, who was on time and very knowledgeable about the products. He gave us an immediate breakdown and an honest opinion of what would work best for this space. We had a small window of time in order to complete the work, and Daniel was very accommodating and willing to work with us. After weighing all of the options, including a reasonable price and a promise of 4-day job, we chose American Kitchen Refacing. From that day forward we were very pleased with the entire job. Michael from American Kitchen Refacing finalized the measurements and completed the work within the 4-day window. He was professional, courteous, and helpful regarding all of the details involved in completing this job. The work was completed on time. The price fit our budget. The results were astounding. We highly recommend using American Kitchen Refacing!

Company will only do large jobs. Even though they did not take the time to fully listen to what I wanted to do over the phone.

We called a number of contractors on Angie's List, but realized after speaking with several of them, we should have just called American Kitchen Refacing since they were the highest rated. We called to setup an appointment, and on the set date, their sales manager came over and described their service and the various choices we had for doors. No pressure, not slick just professional all the way. After a brief discussion, my wife and I decided on a door/drawer style, put a deposit down and that was it. Several days later, one of AKR's measuring specialists came to our house and measured in detail all the openings, and set up a date for installation. We were initially told it could take as long as 4 days. On the appointed day and time of the installation appointment, 2 of the AKR installers showed up, and worked quickly and quietly. They were only here for 2 days and the job was done, which was great. They were very conscientious, and masked any areas which could have gotten dusty, and then cleaned up after themselves... The cabinets and the new laminate look terrific, and American Kitchen Refacing really did a great job!

Dan came out to survey the job. He arrived early and sat in his car till our appt. time. We were told the project would take 4 or 5 days to complete. Mike is the cabinet builder/refacer. He did a great job and was very responsive to our questions/comments. He really knows his craft! He called a situation to our attention, of which we were not aware, involving our floor (which he knew we have intentions of replacing in the near future) and our dishwasher. Long story short, he made a modification to the existing base cabinets to insure that we wouldn't have a problem removing the dishwasher after the granite countertops are in place if the need arises.He works quickly and efficiently. The job was completed, just as stated, in 5 days. The cabinets are beautiful! We would hire Mike again in a heartbeat!,

The process was very easy and everything went smoothly from the estimate, to the measuring, to installation. We selected white laminate cabinet doors, and they look great. The work was supposed to take 4 or 5 days, but Mike completed the job in 3 days. He cleaned up every day, and closed off the space with plastic sheeting so that the sawdust from sanding the cabinet boxes didn't get all over the house. We've had them now for a month, and are very satisfied.

Mike D did all the work and then some in a few days. He is a hard worker who knows his craft. My kitchen looks great! Dan, the sales manager, was very helpful and informative.

They actually haven't started working, but they've been here for measurements. The contract is signed and the cabinets are ordered. The estimate is in the neighborhood of $6000. They've been great. They are very responsive, timely and nice. I didn't find them through Angie's List, but I was just double checking. Their price is good.

The quality is unbelievable and the workmanship is utterly amazing. From the representative Danny to the cabinet maker and installer Mike, it has been a pleasure having them in our home. They were the kindest, most helpful people we have had through this renovation. If you didn't know our cabinets were refaced, you would think they all were brand new. We would recommend them to everyone and anyone that wants to re-do their kitchen. Mike was a jack-of-all-trades and expressed that in his work. He was a perfectionist and took pride in his work and it showed in the end results. His character and personality were extremely professional and pleasant. Try American Kitchen Refacing...........you won't be disappointed.

They showed up on time and were very professional.

The project was excellent in all respects. One carpenter took the job from start to finish in a five day work week, starting and ending on schedule. The work area was clear and serviceable at the end of each day. There was no dust in the house during the sanding operation. The carpenter undertook several special requests, such as preparing the wall for installation of an over-the-stove microwave, loosening the counter (the counter will be installed by others). Tricky angles were expertly cut. All doors work beautifully, as do the drawers.

We had a large number of kitchen cabinets that needed re-facing (41). From our first phone call everyone we dealt with, Cheryl, Dan and Mike were exceptionally friendly, helpful courteous and responsive. They performed every service described in a timely and professional manner. Our cabinets truly are beautiful and the work was done without a hitch in a short period of time. Every aspect of our experience was positive and we would urges anyone considering cabinet re-facing to look no further than this provider

Mike D. did all the work. He is professional, neat and a hard worker. I am very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend this company. I am especially happy to know there is a lifetime warranty on the doors and drawer fronts and it is transferrable, if I should move, to the new owner. A nice selling point!

The work was done professionally and terrific. We are more than satisfied with the outcome of the work done by Mike. Mike was a perfectionist, reliable and personable. He refaced all kitchen doors and drawers that were original when house was built (over 20 yrs. ago). Now our kitchen looks fantastic with the work he performed! One cabinet door came in slightly damaged. Mke suggested to install the damaged door so we could temporarily see how the finished project would look until new door arrived. Ordered the new door and was replaced within a timely fashion. There was little to no inconvenience to us while he was working. The entire project took 4-5 days. Our entire experience with American Kitchen Refacing was very good. The salesperson (Dan) was knowledgeable, professional & had a great sense of humor. Cheryl (office staff) and the owner of American (another Mike) were also friendly, timely returned phone calls and helpful. We would definitely recommend American to anyone looking to reface cabinets and request Mike to do your cabinetry work!

It was fantastic. This company was the best. From the first visit on they were punctual, they were very nice to deal with, and they did everything they said they would; and then some. The measuring went extremely well. The installation was fantastic. They did the job in the amount of time they said they would. Mike D did the installation and he was phenomenal. He worked hard each day and then he left the house spotless at the end of every day. I don't know what he did with the dust but we never saw it! The finished product was wonderful. The people were wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this experience. I would recommend this company to you without hesitation or reservation. It is a great group to deal with.

Mike was on time every day. He started the job on the day promised and finished within the allotted time. He made as little mess as possible, even putting plastic up to keep as much dust as he could in the kitchen and out of the rest of the house. My kitchen was cleaned up every day when he left. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who is thinking about refacing work.

Mike was prompt, professional and did even more than expected. He touched up paint, installed an extra shelf, and was extremely cooperaive and helpful. The cabinets turned out better than we had imagined. We would highly recommend this contractor.

Overall the job was excellent. Mike Desandro did all of the work . His attention to detail was second to none. He was punctual , polite very professional and cleaned up every day at the end of the day. Mike worked very well with my wife and myself as the job progressed. He gave us ideas and suggestions that enhanced the quality of the job. This job was done meticulously with no imperfections. The cabinets look brand new. He also installed new knobs on the cabinets as well as covering the soffits and applying some beautiful moldings. I would highly recommend Mike Desandro and American Kitchen refacing.

They made sure our kitchen area was clean each day. They arrived each day at the scheduled time. The estimate to finish the entire job was 4 days and this timeframe was met with no issues. They were right on schedule with what we had agreed to and they did a good job. The materials were first rate. It was an expensive job but since I had a bad experience with the previous contractor I wanted it done right and I didn't want to take anymore chances. I found them through Angie's list. My only complaint was that they left the old doors because I didn't have it written into the contract but I was able to discard through my local trash collection.

The job went extremely well. Mike, who did all of the work with a helper, was extremely professional and performed all the work on time and on schedule. He cleaned up the work area daily and took precations to keep dust and dirt from the rest of the house. He is an excellent professional. Only one minor part of the job remains. There was molding to be installed around the counter that has not been completed to date. He has promised to do come back and do that. We had all countertops replaced with granite and all cabinets refaced and drawers and all hardware replaced. An excellent experience overall.

Terrific Job!! Mike DeSandro actually did the refacing and really did a wonderful job. You can request someone particular if you like. Mike was very punctual every day and also cleaned up everything each day before leaving. The work made the kitchen look brand new and I am sorry I didn't have this done long ago. Beautiful job, would highly recommend. Actually turned out better then I imagined it would.
