I had the worst experience ever with Jem Appliance. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU NEED A HEADACHE AND WANT TO WASTE MONEY AND TIME. They would not match a competitor's price and basically said, "I'm not sure how they can sell it for that price.". But I wanted to support a local business so I bought from them. The installation was awful. They broke my main water valve and turned off the hot water valve, so I had a leaking valve and no hot water in the middle of winter. I called a plumber to repair these. Also, in order to get the appliance in, they removed the front door to the house and deactivated the alarm sensors which now requires a visit from the alarm company. They refused to accept any responsibility and were extremely rude. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM EVER AGAIN.

The price was pretty much the same as everywhere else with a wholesale discount through my architect. I ordered the appliances with plenty of time to spare. Good thing because they took quite a while to come in - a fact of which I was not informed in advance. The appliances arrived and I checked them against my order. All part numbers matched the order. The appliances sat for a while longer due to a delay with my cabinets. Once they were finally ready to be installed I was informed by my contractor that he didn't normally install appliances but he did it anyway. I had no idea that the installation of the appliances was so involved nor had I been educated on this by JEM. It turned out that although the model numbers delivered were correct, the "freedom" handles for my fridge were incorrect. Unfortunately these incorrect handles got installed by my contractor. My order had the correct description of "pro handle" to match the rest of the appliances but the part number was actually for a different series. I couldn't believe JEM made this mistake because I had had a lengthy discussion with the salesperson about my requirement for all the handles to match. In fact, I ordered the refrigerator instead of the Sub Zero solely for this reason ( a fact that the sales person knew well). I called JEM to let them know of their error and to their credit they did supply me with the correct handles free of charge. However when I requested that they send someone to install the handles they said they couldn't do that. When pressed they agreed to give me $100 credit towards the replacement. I still haven't received the credit and the actual charge to have a Thermador technician do the replacement was $500. I would not use JEM again.
Description of Work: Sold me a full line of Thermador kitchen appliances.

I had to replace a built-in, broken wall oven with one with the exact dimensions. Jem researched one that would fit and gave me a good price on it. Jem made the extra effort to meet the holiday deadline that I had for installation. This is the third time I've bought appliances from this company and they've been consistently informative, helpful, reliable and reasonably priced. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Description of Work: Jem sold and delivered a new wall oven.
