So far so good. We were satisfied with the work they do. Their customer service reps are friendly. Their techs are as friendly as plumbers can be. We didn't call to ask them to fix the foot on the bathtub. He just happened to have the epoxy and told me he could do that.
Description of Work: Most recently they replaced a shower head that was leaking. They also fixed one of the feet of our claw footed bathtub. They replaced our water heater some years ago. They maintain our steam boiler. We have a contract with them that has a heat inspection every year.

They were very high prices compared to every one else. They also wanted to sell me a water softener system. They also told me my current water heater was not covered by warranty but it was. It was a very inexpensive part for the boiler but they ended up charging me a lot of money.
Description of Work: They came in to give me an estimate for a water heater. They also put a part for me in the boiler.

They grossly overcharged us. We thought it would be a routine thing. It ended up not being a routine issue. We found we could have done it cheaper elsewhere.

It was very good. Both problems were fixed to my satisfiaction.
Description of Work: I had an outdoor water source that the valve wasn’t working right and they had to replace that. I also had a bathtub that when it was full it was overflowing and causing a leak downstairs. They unclogged the pipe and fixed that problem.

They aways call back right away. They also show up when they say they will. They come that day or the next day. Usually something is wrong when I call. They come very promptly and come when they say they will. The employees are nice. They seem to be well trained and know what they are doing. The price listed was for a filter.
Description of Work: They have been here several times for a few different reasons. The most recent was that our water heater died and they had to replace it. I did the extended service plan where they come and service the furnace. They came and change the filter, cleaned and looked at it. My lines that go from the washing machine were clogged and they fixed that. My sink was clogged and they fixed that. They have been out five or six times.

I have used them for so long. They are very neat. They wear booties. They come right away when you call. They are very expensive. I have never used another plumber for a long time so I am not sure how they compare. Several times they have made an error and had to come back to fix it but they do come back which is good.
Description of Work: I have used them for years. They put a sink in the bathroom. They do my heating system. They installed my water heater about 7 years ago. Most recently they fixed a downstairs toilet.

The last weekend of January 2011, the temperatures dropped to the single digits. We awoke on Sunday morning to find that we had no running water. The pipes had frozen because of the cold. We had only been in our home for about 2 months, and this was the first time we had ever experienced frozen pipes. We didn't want to call a plumber on Sunday, so we hoped for the best and managed to make it to Monday. Checked Angie's List for local plumbers, and called Water Works who said they could have a plumber to us that day. Frank arrived, and took a look around to see what was the issue with our pipes. He removed the tiles from our drop ceiling in the basement, and noticed that some of the pipes (mainly the kitchen and main bath) were located in a soffit, that was insulated, but obviously not insulated enough. He gave us an estimate to do the work and left us his cell number to call him back if we had any questions or if we wanted to schedule. My husband and I discussed the estimate, and came to the conclusion that it was not really something we could shop around, so we called Frank and he came the next morning. No sooner did he arrive, when the pipes burst. I thank God that this happened while he was there, rather than during the middle of the night. The work began right away, and was completed that day. Frank and another plumber, Rob, wore booties, and cleaned up after themselves, even though I told them it wasn't necessary. They even wore booties over their work boots (which really wasn't necessary, but it was nice that they did).
Description of Work: Our pipes had frozen and then burst. We had copper piping with PEX tubing, and changed the configuration of the pipes so that it no longer runs near an external soffit at the back of our house.

Excellent. I called them in again to give me an estimate to install baseboards to the main floor. He already anticipated room for expansion when he replaced the heating unit, should I decide in the future.
Description of Work: Needed basement heating. They replaced my old gas furnace/water heater...with new one...installed baseboard heaters...Very pleasant people, in uniform, used side door to enter the house to the basement, lined the their walk path and work area. They took back garbage too. They left the area clean, I'm so impressed. They came early, finished the job on time, informational labels by the furnace, # to call...They let you know when they step out to lunch.

Thank you for posting this report about Water Works. We are very happy to hear you had such a great experience with Water Works. I just wanted to clarify there must have been a typo in the price, it was approximately $1000 not $10,000, just wanted to clear that up for anyone reading the report. Thanks again, Water Works

While we were very relieved to have our sump system repaired on a Sunday morning before the rain storm hit, we will not be using Water Works again because of the hard sell for maintenance contracts, to purchase products (like carbon monoxide detectors--nothing to do with why we called them), etc. Both times we've used Water Works we were made to feel hustled and foolish if we didn't take advantage of the one time offer. If we took out the contract right now we would be saving so much on today's repair or purchases. Both times other "problems" in our house were pointed out that really should be repaired right away. Our house was completely renovated less than 5 years ago by an excellent contractor and the previous time we used Water Works for our heating system a different technician did nothing but point out how bad our brand new heating and cooling system was. Except for this minor repair we've been very pleased and resented being told that we now needed to shell out thousands of dollars to have what we feel is excellent work "redone". We ignored both technicians' hard sell in person and the follow up phone calls. We paid the "higher" rate and want no long term ties.
Description of Work: We discovered our sump pump system was not working on a Saturday afternoon when a heavy rain was predicted (again). Our attempts to get it working failed. Knowing we would flood in the basement if it wasn't fixed fast we called 4 plumbers and got answering machines on all but Water Works, who said they could send someone Sunday morning. The other 3 did call back within 24 hours, but we would have flooded by that time. We were grateful for the timely service and Frank had everything running as promised. This is the 2nd time we've used Water Works (six months ago for our heating system).

They are very courteous, but are masters at separating you from your money! By the end, I spent $1380! They did give me an estimate right before they started, but managed to add on extra tasks - replacing shut off valves and "rebuilding" the bathtub faucet. Also tried to persuade me to reset the toilet, install a water softener, install a whole house filter, and buy a new water heater all of which I am not going to do. I should have sent them away when I initially found out how much they were charging - in retrospect, I realize that $600 to install 2 (previously purchased) faucets is just too much!
Description of Work: Asked them to install two kitchen faucets that I had already purchased, stop a slow drip from the bathtub faucet, and fix a toilet handle.

We would like to thank this customer for the high ratings he gave us in every category, price excluded. We only hire the best most qualified and courteous technicians. We drug test them, do criminal back ground checks, motor vehicle checks and credit checks. They go through extensive customer service training as well as technical training. Approximately 1 in 47 applicants will actually be hired by our company. We operate full time 7 days a week. Our phones are always answered by people and we never charge overtime. We make appointments in 2 hour increments and always call when we are on the way or if running late. The level of service, responsiveness and punctuality this customer rated us high on, along with the caliber of our employees, can't come with a low price. We did have 2 technicians work a total of 8.5 hours (plus .5 hr travel time) on this job. If you subtract materials and sales tax from the $1380 that leaves approximately $1160 for 9 hours of our time. Hardly and excessive amount. When performing work in a home of this age its not uncommon to discover unforeseen issues. Any issue we uncovered was estimated in advance and presented as an option for this customer to approve or decline. Regarding the loose toilet, water softener and water heater. We consider it good customer service to bring issues that could benefit a customer to their attention. A loose toilet will eventually leak. This customer lives in a hard water area and could benefit from a water softener. They also have a water heater that is over 12 years old with an average life expectancy of 10 years. These items were presented to the customer as options for him to accept or decline without pressure from our technicians..

We have not been back to this residence since Oct. 2008 when we replaced a water main shut off valve, snaked out a clogged lavatory sink drain and sold a jar of enzyme drain cleaner. We never rerouted leaking pipes in a garage. Customer must be confusing our company with another customer

ServPro came to clean up the water damage. The technician said there was water in the pan which the Water Works repairman was supposed to have emptied and prevented from filling up again. The ServPro technician noted other problems that the air conditioner repairman should have fixed. I called Water Works and asked them to return and fix the problems . A different repairman came and said there we no problems and he didn't need to fix anything. He suggested that I install condensate emergency overflow switches for $900.90. I asked why they were so expensive and he double talked. I told him that I wanted to get other estimates. I called two other air conditioner repair services and they both said that the switches would be around $300!!! The ServPro technician came back today and said that the water level in the walls near my air conditioner was even higher than it was yesterday which makes me wonder if Water Work actually did fix the air conditioner entirely. Now I have to pay another air conditioner repairman because I don't trust that the job was done properly.
Description of Work: Water was dripping from my ceiling light. A plumber said it was due to the air conditioner unit in the attic. I found Water Works on Angie's List and they came quickly. The repairman diagnosed 3 problems. He claimed to fix them and charged me $395.84. He tried to hard sell me a maintenance program that would cost $22 a month that would be deducted from my bank account or credit card. i said I wasn't interested.

Our company has a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee so we were shocked at this member's report on our company. We immediately called her to address her concerns and set up a return visit to her home. However, she would not allow our service manager return to her home to investigate this situation and circumstances. She indicated to us that she no longer trusted us and had another company resolve her air conditioning issue. We asked her is she would show us a copy of the invoice or receipt from the other company, so we could see if and were we went wrong. She refused to do that. We explained to her that if we make a mistake we want to learn from it so we don’t repeat it. We are always trying to improve our technical performance and customer service. We will to do what ever it takes to satisfy our customers. She still refused to allow us to return or see the other companies invoice. Therefore, in keeping with our companies 100% Satisfaction Guarantee Policy, we apologized for any inconvenience we may have caused her and will be mailing her a full refund for the services we had performed.

After talking with service manager Shawn, Waterworks found ways to save us money especially in these tough times. They even added extras that are not considered mandatory (emergency drain pan and cutoff). They were prompt, clean, and thorough. They did what they promised and there were no surprise charges. I would like to especially thank Frank for the wonderful work he has done. Now my family is staying cool this summer and the system is working better than ever.
Description of Work: Waterworks performed a removal and replacement of our air handler and condenser unit of our AC system. In order to save us money they were able to reuse the line set after flushing it. The new system uses R-410A refrigerant as opposed to R-22 which is being phased out.
