They were on time and worked really hard to get the job done in a timely manner. They did an absolutely great job and will now be using them throughout the year for various landscape services.

We decided to defer the landscaping

Well, in a word, wonderfully. Charlie is professional, knowledgeable and friendly, as are his staff. They took great care to ensure that they left our property as close as possible to the condition in which they found it. They worked around existing plants, replaced a section of wood fence that had to be removed to access the area in which they built the patio and even planted grass seed where they tracks from the bobcat tore up the lawn. The finished patio looks fantastic and the pergola is mounted securely. We couldn't be happier. This company approaches each job as if it is the most important job to them. They do not change how they work according to the price of the job. They want the customer satisfied and all of the employees go to great lengths to do so. My only regret is that I didn't find Charlie when we were getting estimates for our paver pool deck that we had installed two years ago. We will definitely be calling Charlie for any future landscaping work at our house and recommending him to friends and family in the area.

Every single aspect of this experience surpassed by expectations. The workers were on time, very respectful of our property, and that of our neighbors, and after about a week of work, the project was completed to perfection. It was a pleasure working with Carlos on the design, and a pleasure to work with him and his crew to get it done. This was phase one of a three year project to renovate the exterior of our home, and we are very much looking forward to having them come back next year to build the deck that will complete the backyard, and then the year after wards to rebuild the front walkway and driveway as well. I can't recommend them highly enough, and if you are impressed with the beautiful work shown on his website, you will be even more impressed with the work done for your home. The world needs more contractors like Charles and Son: professionalism and excellence would be the two words I'd choose to summarize their work.

I cannot say enough about Charles and sons. They were professional, efficient, clean, and true perfectionist with their work. It is not even a question that we will be using them again to do our entire backyard!

He did not show up during our appointed time and when I called the next day he said he was with a customer and never got back to me. I was very disappointed,

Carlos went above and beyond. The whole process was very professional. We knew exactly what to expect. Carlos showed us plans of what he would be doing so that there would be no confusion. He just wanted us to be happy. His team worked so hard; I couldn't believe how quickly they completed the job. I can enthusiastically recommend Charles & Son to anyone.

Amazingly! Men showed up next day after giving us a reasonable estimate and finished the work in two days. Paving stone was beautifully laid in pattern. Debris was neatly stacked and removed. Blue stone landing is finally dry after a storm--for years the previous cement landing retained moisture for days after a rain. We couldn't be more pleased with the work and the workers. We have now hired them to redo our entire 100' of landscaping.

Their work was outstanding. Charles and Son Construction is timely and professional. He really goes out of his way to make sure the work is done correctly.

I’m not sure if I can say enough about Charles and his crew. They were absolutely outstanding! Charlie came, we told him what we needed, and he was able to offer recommendations that we decided to use. He was very professional and expeditious, as well as the crew who was there every day (sans rainy days) and on time! After signing the contract, the work was completed in less than a week! I was truly amazed and extremely happy! After initial project was complete, we were so pleased, we hired him for two other projects (Landscaping in the backyard and LED low-voltage Light installation in the front and backyard). Would I hire Charles and Sons again? **** YEAH!!! We’ve already compiled a list of projects that we look forward to having Charlie work on!

We needed it done quickly and Charles and his crew offered to work on the weekend to get it done for us. They did a beautiful job, and were creative in the design. Much better and more reasonable than any of the other contractors I spoke with (about 6 others). I would use them again without hesitation.

It went great everything looks great, they accidentally damaged my downspout from the gutter and before I could say anything they replaced it with new downspouts. They were fast and have huge team of people to get the work done quickly. I highly recommend them and the price is good as well.

Charles was very responsive and aimed to please. Whenever contacted he responded right away and addressed any questions or concerns. His workers were fast and the quality of the work was great and the cleaned the are when completed. Work came out great and assume will hold up for long time. Would highly recommend Charles and Sons.

Everything went perfectly! We called a bunch of places for estimates. Some never returned our calls. One guy came, measured the property, and never called us back. The few that came and actually gave us estimates took a few days to give us a quote (that miraculously included the coupon, even though it was never mentioned prior to the quote.) When Charlie came he measured the driveway and gave us a quote on the spot. His estimate for extending the driveway, installing retaining walls & steps, and using paver stones for the driveway was the same as other quotes for just asphalt and new walls! They started within a few days and completed the entire project within a week. We made some changes along the way and Charlie never hesitated once to tell us our options and give us a fair price. Every night the crew cleaned up the street before they left (which was really nice, in my opinion, you don't want the neighborhood to look messy just because you're getting work done.) I'm very happy I chose Charles & Sons. We've already received compliments from neighbors who walk by (we even gave his card to the pizza delivery guy who was impressed with the work.) If I had one complaint it would be that it can be a little difficult to understand Charlie, as english is his second language. But the guy knows his stuff and he went above and beyond trying to explain exactly what they would be doing. When we save up some cash we're going to call him back to do the backyard. HIGHLY recommended.

High marks for being on time, and finishing the work when they said they would. Showed up to start the day they said. Our Retaining wall and lighting and hand rails look awesome. Fence was done nicely and so was the siding. Negative are they did not clean up all their debris, our font door wasn't installed correctly and is out of alignment and they walked off with our ladder. The biggest issue was we picked out particular stone, went to quarry with Charlie, emailed our picks and they installed different stone. By the time we got back after a week it was done and too late to change it back to our selection. Still looks nice though, but not what we picked. Oh and they put in a new walkway, very nice work And the right stone!

Charlie responded immediately to my initial call for a quote. He arrived at the scheduled time and was extremely professional. I input my contact information into a tablet app while he took measurements and began giving me ideas on how he would address my project. This was a major project for us. Our garage goes beneath the house and retaining wall is 40 ft long and nearly 5 ft at its highest. We wanted to upgrade from the white stucco over cement to a natural stone veneer over block and to have steps built into the wall (previously, there were none). Also, we wanted the driveway widened to accommodate two cars side by side. When his quote came via email within 48 hrs., I knew he was the right contractor for this job. I had a good feeling during his initial visit to review the project based on his suggestions. I also appreciated that he had a book with images of similar work he had done to show me what the end result may look like. We also had flooding in our garage during heavy rains, so improvements to drainage were needed. Charlie outlined his proposal with line items for each part of the project. When he came over to discuss my acceptance of the quote, we discussed lighting options and he provided ideas and immediate quote on the spot. He is efficient and respectful. Because our backyard slopes nearly 5ft, I asked him to leave all of the rubble and dirt in the backyard rather than cart it away as I would like to use it to grade the yard as best I could. There was a small miscommunication regarding the start date, which was overcome when he told me the total project would only take 1.5 weeks. When his crew arrived on the first day, I was impressed with their workmanship immediately. They worked quickly and treated our property as if it were there own, making sure to check about certain plants and other materials that were in there way prior to removing them (we had prepped the area and removed everything we cared to keep, but it was nice that they checked with us!). We were astonished at how much work they accomplished each day. On the third working day, we encountered an unforeseen obstacle - a boulder (which turned out to be the size of a compact car) was buried only one foot beneath the surface directly where we planned to widen the driveway. It was impossible to move and even though they brought in an excavator and spent an entire day working on it, it remained an obstacle. Charlie talked me through various options, and while I was upset to learn they could not remove it completed, we agreed upon a course of action. His assurances that the project would meet my initial goal of widening the driveway to accommodate two cars side by side were well founded. What impressed me most was how he treated my request to keep the dirt and rubble on site. Instead of a massive pile that I would deal with myself, I was dumfounded to find two of his crew neatly stacking the rubble covering it with the dirt when I came home on the 2nd day. They graded the lower 2/3 of the yard. We will actually have a completely level backyard! This was an amazing surprise. Additionally, the drainage that was required for the driveway was done perfectly. With a little extra effort, Charlie and his crew were able to tie all of the downspouts into a brand new 4 inch line that now goes directly to a city sewer. These upgrades will do wonders for our enjoyment of our property. The attention to detail is only matched by the overwhelming beautification Charlie created on my property, which has transformed the front of our home. The wall is quite impressive, especially with the inclusion of the LED lights. Our neighbors have all slowed to a stop while they have driven by to comment on this job, including many strangers who were drawn to comment not only on the wall, but also on Charlie and his crew. "Those guys are working hard!" and "I can't believe the work they are doing" were a couple of the comments we received. I couldn't agree more. I highly recommend Charles & Sons Construction Company to anyone who is need of hardscaping and landscaping projects at their home. Charlie made me look like a genius to my wife and neighbors for choosing him to do this work.

They did a great job and were done fast

The crew arrived on time and finished the work ahead of schedule. They worked extremely hard during the week they were here.

We have used them twice and they do a great work, but the people should be aware that they can't stand top of the things. They don't have great attention to detail, so one can really have to supervise quite a bit. There was somewhat of a language barrier; but their work was fantastic. Once it was all done, it looks great. There were some struggles along the way. The price was a little over the budget. We didn't expect the price to go over our budget; but they did make a man to kind of make up for that a little bit. He mulched some area and planted some flowers. Compared to the other contractors in the area, they are competitive.
