My husband and I are doing most of the work on our home ourselves. However, with 2 little kids and living at in-laws making life more difficult, we decided that one of the things we were going to hire a professional to do was sheet rock and spackle. So after looking at residential and commercial reviews, and getting a personal commercial recommendation, we hired LDP drywall. The first day, the owner of the company came by for a short time, but then the subcontractor did the work (fine, as long as the job is done right). It seemed ok pre-paint so we primed and painted. Within 3-4 months, we had 214 screw pops and 18 clearly visible seams on the ceilings/walls. Lou immediately came by to take a look at the job and acknowledged that it was a problem. So we gave him the opportunity to return and fix it. Lou came by, spackled over the seams and sanded. I had already paid for paint and painted the entire house myself, so was a little upset he had me pay for new paint, but we later agreed that he would pay for ceiling paint and hire a painter to re-paint the ceiling, and I would buy the wall paint and repaint the rest of the house myself. Before the painter came, we found over a dozen more screw pops and realized that several of the areas he had just re-spackled were very sloppy, so we had to sand over some areas so the painter could paint. A painter did come to the house, and did an ok job. He did, however, also acknowledge how horrible the sheet rock job was and still recommended that we eventually skim-coat our entire ceiling with spackle and re-sand and re-paint anyway, because of the spackle work that was done. Both Lou and the painter agreed that stripes remained very visible in the ceiling. Lou stated that we could never use ceiling fans or hanging lights (such as our dining room chandelier), as the lights hang down too far and will further illuminate the stripes. I politely called him and asked if he was finished with the job or if he would be returning to take a look, and he has not responded in any way. He is aware of the problems that remain, and I have attempted to contact him via email, text, and phone with no responses.

We hired Lou to install the dry wall for our kitchen remodel. He did the walls and the ceiling. His price was reasonable and the quality of the work is good. Timing is very important when you are doing a complete remodel and LDP was great about getting the job completed when I needed it done. We would definately hire Lou and his crew again. In fact, I recommended him to my boss for a project at his home.

We've rehired LDP Drywall to do a 7 room project which hasn't been started yet, he's doing another house. I called on him after having a really bad project. He looked at the job, estimated and did the job. he did it exactly like he said he was going to do it and he was out exactly when he said he was going to be out. I was happy with his work, with the people and how quickly he worked that's why I rehired him. He's cordial, polite, explained everything and his personality was good because I didn't feel intimated. I felt very comfortable. I would recommend him. He was clean, neat, was here when he said he was going to be here and I think he was done a day earlier than what he projected so I was very, very happy with that. I was at that room for 6 months trying to get somebody because I didn't trust anybody and then he comes and does the job. I think it was 4 days top completely done, ready to paint. I can call him or text me and he calls me back or texts me back, that's what I like about him too, he doesn't ignore his calls. I have a question, he picks up the phone. I thought his price was excellent.
Description of Work: He resheet rock a ceiling that someone botched up really, really bad prior to him putting up the ceiling.

One of most attractive factors in hiring LDP Drywall was their price which was significantly lower that other proposals. We never were hit with unexpected additional charges. In other words this was not a low ball price but a real one. Before we signed a contract we visited The Kitchen Shop in Pequannock, NJ (recommended by LDP) to discuss design issues and cabinetry. We were pleased with the openness and flexibility of The Kitchen Shop and their willingness to work amiably with us. Working with Lou Palminteri and his workers was a pleasure! One of our fears in starting this job was that the work would begin and then there would be large gaps of time when no work would be done. This NEVER happened with Lou. All of the workers who came to our home were professional and friendly. The quality of their work was excellent. Lou was supervising the work in person each day and ensured the timely coordination of each worker. He kept us informed of progress and we always received a text or phone call as to who would be on site the next day and the approximate time of their arrival, which made planning our day easier.
Description of Work: We hired Lou Palminteri, owner of LDP Drywall, to be the general contractor of our complete kitchen renovation. The work began at the end of August 2012 and was completed by mid October 2012. The old kitchen was removed including the sheetrock on the walls and ceiling. A knee wall separating the work area and the eating area of the old kitchen was also removed as well as the flooring in the work area. A new hardwood floor was laid in the old work area. This floor was woven in with the old wood floor so it now looks like it was all installed at the same time. The electrical work was completed including the installation of new recessed lighting, pendant lights, under cabinet lighting and new outlets. The plumbing involved the relocation of the kitchen sink as well as the installation needed for the range, the dishwasher and the ice-maker for the refrigerator. New drywall was installed on the walls and ceiling. A television was installed on a wall and the cable box was placed in the storage area of the basement so as not to clutter the wall area.. The cabinets were installed as well as the granite counter tops and a tile backsplash. Finally the walls and ceiling were painted.
