I phoned this company and the man who answered didn't reveal his name or the company's name. His web site says that he serves DE. I asked and he said "no" without explanation then fumbled thru when I mentioned that I saw DE on his web site. Truly I was bothering him. I have a TON of work that needs to be done in my house and it was obvious I was just an annoying phone call. VERY weird. ...moving on!

I called him a few weeks later in May and asked him to do the job. He said he could do it the week of May 23rd because he was working on a deck that week and I would be next. He called me the day before he was supposed to start and told me he had had an accident and would not be able to do the job until July. He told me I could find someone else, but we really liked him and wanted to wait. I called him in the beginning of July and asked him how he was and if he had any idea when he could start. He said that he was working on another job with a helper and still wasn't cleared to work alone. He said he thought the doctor would do that on July 15th. I waited until that week and called again. He said he was still working on that other job and he could probably start the end of July. Again, I waited and called back in the beginning of August. He said that he was having problems on this job with the inspector and that he would be on this job a little longer. He then called me and told me that he would be finished the job he was working on by Wednesday, August 17th and would be able to start my job the week of August 22nd but he would definitely call me first and let me know the situation. We even discussed the fact that he wouldn't be able to get to our house before we left for work and the possibility of giving him a key. I called him again today, frustrated and wondering when he was going to get to my job and call me. Again, I got more excuses. I asked him if he was ever going to get to my job. He said that he now had 3 jobs to do for insurance companies because of the hurricane. I said to him, I was supposed to be your next job, but yet you've been working on other jobs. Then he said he was still working on the same deck. Then he said that "these people" gave him a deposit. I told him if he needed a deposit, why didn't he mention it during all these other phone calls. He told me I obviously didn't read the contract. If he was working on the same deck, then who are "these people"? I had already purchased all the materials for this job and it has all been sitting in my second bedroom since March. I only have 2 bedrooms!! Now I have to start all over again to try and find someone to do the job. During all this time, he called me only once. I made all the other calls. I would be very careful about hiring this contractor. He is not a man of his word.
Description of Work: John came and gave me an estimate for a partial bathroom remodel. We needed a new floor, vanity and medicine cabinet installed. We also needed something done with the walls because they were uneven and painted with textured paint. We did want wainscoting on the bottom. He suggested putting drywall on top of the wainscoting and painting it. He also suggested this for the ceiling this was a popcorn ceiling. He also was going to install moulding around the ceiling and install or repair the door. Our toilet and bathtub were new so nothing needed to be done with this. His price was good and comparable to others and he seemed knowledgeable and very friendly. My husband and I both thought he would do a good job. He also supplied us with references when we asked. We did not find him on Angie's List. We found him on Kudzu.com.
