+ 0 moreEverything was done very quickly one afternoon although there was a fairly large gap between when I ordered the service and when it was completed. At first, I was disappointed as it hadn't looked like much was done. However, with proper watering, the lawn turned green and the dead area in my backyard filled in nicely. Sadly, when Sandy hit the following year, my tree was toppled again. (But I was able to get it righted as part of other tree service I did for other Sandy problems.)
Description of Work: Aerated and corrected ph balance in front and backyard. Also reseeded backyard and righted a tree that had been titled by Hurricane Irene.

+ 0 moreWhen Martoccia came he promised us all sorts of things so I thought if we had gotten him onto our regular landscaping program so that he will remain interested and do a good job. But every time I have to be telling him that we should get onto this landscaping job that we talked about, and he would say yes and come promptly the next day and then forget all about it. It's been 5 months and I just written to him to say that, "The reason we signed up with this company was to have our landscaping done. So we don't want your services anymore." He is expensive and he has charged me for some kind of ornamental care, which was not in the estimate so I don't know if it was weekly care or monthly care. He promises you the world and doesn't deliver. The monthly lawn maintenance which was the mowing and the blowing, he was costing me more than what my previous landscaper cost me but it was alright because he promised to do the other work. But he was overpriced.
Description of Work: I used Martoccia Landscape Service Inc. I got him off Angie's List and we hired them in the month of March and we were looking to improve the look of the landscaping.

+ 3 moreOverall the job went excellent. Crew showed up as scheduled on-time and completed the job early. Martoccia Landscaping is a family run business and the family is personnaly involved in every project execution. I have seen their trucks working around town for over 20 years, and this is the first time I have used their landscaping services, I was very impressed and plesently suprised at quality of service and work ethic they displayed.
Description of Work: Martoccia landscaping provided design and landscape construction services for my multi-staged project. Their landscape designer incorporated all the features that my wife and I described into our project which included landscape block pedestal for a wood burning pizza oven, redesign and retrofitting new brick paver patio extension into an existing patio and several plantings and moving of small decorative trees & bushes around the new patio & pizza oven. The crew was extremely professional, with several specialty employees for installing brick pavers & patio block as well as a tree specialist for moving and planting decorative trees & bushes. The tree planting crew utilized specialized equipment for removing planted tree root balls and re-planting without damaging root system or lawn. The brick paver crew used the same specialized hydraulic machine to move pallets of brick pavers & landscape blocks around my yard with minimal damage to lawn. The work was completed on time and under budget, and yes they actually credited me for the difference!! Excellent service & continued follow-up to project work. I would highly recommend Martoccia Landscaping for any and all of your landscaping needs.

+ 0 moreThey do a very good job. The workers are nice and always arrive on time. They take care of all of our outside needs. They are expensive but they provide quality work. The owners don't always come immediately when I call them, but their workers do. I have received some very high bills at time and consider not using them.

+ 1 moreThe job went reasonably well. They actually did okay. They did a lot of masonry work, which I think was actually subcontracted but was actually pretty good. The landscaping was fine. They were pretty slow to respond and get the whole thing moving, and that was a certain level of frustration for us.

Description of Work: They have cared for and improved our property for 30 years, so the date given for services rendered and the amount spent are just for the purpose of filling in the form which is poorly designed and does not allow for accurate report. This family-owned and operated business is exemplary in customer communication and care, as well as quality of work. This is a full-service landscaping and maintenance company, everything from yards to masonry and outdoor carpentry, fencing, and special expertise in drainage and grading issues and tree work. They are the best by far here in our highly competitive region. They are not the cheapest, so if looking for corner-cutting and cheap fixes, this is not the company for you. But for exceptional quality and personal interest in your home and property, they are exceptional.

They listen to us if we have any kind of specific request; for example, I asked them to use a hand-mower and they have accommodated that. My lawn looks so much better over the past few years since they’ve been taking care of it. They just impress me as a very well-run business. Their price is comparable - they are neither cheap nor over-priced.
Description of Work: We have a monthly contract with Martoccia Landscape Service to do work with our lawn. They usually come out to my house on a Thursday or a Friday. They do the fertilization and soil tests to make sure that they are handling the lawn properly.

+ -1 moreTHEY ARE GOOD. THE PRICES ARE A BIT HIGHER THAN AVERAGE, BUT THE SERVICES ARE WELL WORTH THE MONEY. THEY ARE ALWAYS ON TIME FOR OUR WEEKLY APPOINTMENTS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.
