sewer cleaning
+ -1 moreThe contractor was sent by HomeServe to clear a sewer blockage. The original time proposed was inconvenient, but the plumber who came was happy to work around my schedule. He arrived within 15 minutes of the appointed time, and cleared the problem within another 10 minutes. The worker was courteous and friendly, and did a competent job of clearing the blockage.
Description of Work: On Easter Sunday in the morning our sewer line backed up into the kitchen sink, overflowing onto the floor. It was clear there was a sewer blockage, so we called HomeServe, our sewer line insurer. They contacted Bogush, a local plumber, who responded promptly and resolved the problem.

+ 3 moreWould not recommend to my worst enemy !!!!!!! Quick response to look at job and give approximate estimate based on time and material. Job required two man team, which we were told and agreed to. First man arrived 1 hour late and we were told second man was on an emergency and would be late !!I I had an emergency !!! Second man arrived an hour later and two men immediately took a smoke break ??!! After spending over an hour with service tech who came to estimate job and write up an detailed work order to be given to responding workers, these guys show up with no work order or knowledge of job !!!!! Had to spend billable time re explaining scope of work !!!!! Here's the best part, after only completing 2/3 of job, one guy leaves !!! Other guy says he was called back to office ??? and trys to bill me for 2 men for 6 hrs when 1 guy was there for 4 hrs and the other one for 3 !!!!!!!! Phantom billing at it's best !!!!!!!!! Rude, nasty attitude on both service techs !!! Left a complete mess of clean up !!!!!!!!!

+ 1 moreThis is at least the fourth time that I have called these guys. The first time, I needed a drain cleaned out fast, as it had clogged up good. They are on call 24 hours, so I paid the Emergency fee, and was all set a few hours later. Once, I had changed the valve inside of a toilet, but when reassembling it, I could not stop the new thing from leaking. They came out, I paid an Emergency fee, and they fixed it immediately. (Guy told me to take my pieces back to Home Depot....so I got a refund. I would not have imagined them giving me my money back.) This year, I had them come out to service the furnace. The guy did a nice job of tuning the system, and flushing it out. He also let me know that the Low Water Cutoff had failed, and I decided not to fix it at that moment. They let me know how much it would cost, so I saved up until I could afford it. For several months, I had to keep my eye on the water level, to ensure that there were no problems. When they came this week, they already knew what to do, and I already knew how much it would cost. The guy arrived 15 minutes early, and was gone in about an hour, after explaining the setup to me. Have never had any problem with them...and can not imagine calling someone else for plumbing or heating or drains. They are a big, big company.....and treat the little guy very, very well.

Description of Work: Unfortunately I did not pick this company by choice. I had a leak in the ceiling of my basement, and have insurance through LeakGuard and Home Service, Inc. I reported this to them as a claim, and this was the contractor they sent me. The plumber they sent arrived at app. 2:01 PM. He assessed the situation and knew right away the pipe that was leaking was a hot water pipe going to radiators in my hot water heating system. Apparently, long ago the prior owner put up some molding and drove a nail into the pipe, which didn't start leaking until now. The plumber went out to his truck to make a call, and proceeded to BS with a local cop he knew for about 20 minutes. While he was outside, I received a call from Home Service telling me that the pipe would be fixed, but any opening of the ceiling, removal of molding etc., was my responsibility to repair. I said fine. The plumber came back, pulled off some insulation, and confirmed the nail in the pipe. He went out to his truck again, and I received another call from Home Service telling me I was not covered as this was plumbing in a heating system. (Home Service was just as horrible and they would get all F's I if I could rate them here). I was told the plumber would come back with a price. After another long wait he came back to tell me that if I did the job now, it would be $775.00 !!!!! (Because you know he was running into OVERTIME!!!) But if I waited until Monday it would be $600.00! I told him he was nuts and I would get my brother in law to fix it. He left at 3:55 PM, almost TWO HOURS to assess a simple repair. There were NO walls to open, nothing. He knew up front this was heating plumbing, but not until he opened the area and was ready to do the job do they tell me in a second call that I am not covered. It's a scam to get the homeowner to pay for the service. This could have been assessed and resolved in 15 minutes. Of course he was getting into overtime, he yacked with a local cop for 20 minutes and lollygagged around outside for the rest. My brother in Law came down, and to add insult to injury we found another nail in the same pipe this plumber missed. It took my brother in law 45 minutes to go to Lowes for some piping, couplings, and to fix the pipe. 20 minutes of actual labor and $20.00 in parts and this Plumbing Company wanted 600 to 775 dollars!!! Shame on them and Shame on Home Service for using these contractors. STAY AWAY FROM BOGUSH!!!

+ 0 moreThis company did work in the house I was living in, for my landlord. They were horrible. Poor work, poor attitude. Disgraceful They left her without a toilet for 2 weeks. Don't ever hire this company.

+ -1 moreI called on Monday and they scheduled the service call for Wednesday. They called me to let me know the technician was on his way and how long it would take him to get here. He got here on time, checked the a/c unit and added freon. Took about 40 minutes. House is nice and cool now!

+ -1 moreBecause Bogush was in a hurry--holiday weekend--my main line was never reconnected to the city's sewer line. Because my outflow had no outlet, my basement was flooded with sewage. Bogush refused to fix my plumbing line, stating they did not create my plumbing problem. They were extremely uncooperative, and I had to consult an attorney and get the city involved in having this health and safety issue fixed. I hired a different plumber to fix the problem Bogush created. This took much time and effort to navigate the maze of city and insurance issues.
Description of Work: In repairing my neighbor's pluming connection to the city's sewer line, Bogush disconnected my main line to the city's sewer line. Bogush was in such a hurry they did not reconnect my line. My sewage was flowing into the ground and backing up into my basement. Photo documentation is available showing the 6 inches of our main sewer line removed by Bogush.

+ -1 moreI had a very basic repair requirement and was quoted an outrageous sum of money to complete the work. Thankfully, I know just enough about repairs to realize the quote was ridiculous. I called another company who completed the repair and charged me 25% of what Bogush quoted. The job took 45 minutes vs. the 1/2 day I was quoted. I would never call this company again under any circumstances.
