+ -1 moreWe had an appointment scheduled for 11 am. At 9:21 am he called my house phone and left a message - saying that if nobody picks up the phone, he does not show up because he doesn't like taking rides for nothing. The message said if I don't call back within one hour, do not bother calling. If I had known this was the company's policy, I would have given him my cell phone number. I was not home at 9:21 am, but when I returned home at 10:40 am (in plenty of time for my 11 am appt), I received this message. I did try to call him even though it was past one hour since he left the message - but it said the mailbox was full and I could not leave a message. I then tried to call the company phone number - where it said that they were closed on Monday - which was the day my appt was scheduled for. Very disappointing. This is my first use of Angie's List - and not a good experience.
Description of Work: Provider was scheduled to come out to fix my gas fireplace which was not working.

Description of Work: I called this company several times for information. I was told to come on a specific day. When I got there there was a sign on the door that said they were closed that Saturday. I came again following the open/closed times on the website, again no one was there. I finally called and someone said they would be there and would be able to give information including pricing. When I arrived the person/owner was not there and the person who was there did not have information to give me. He wrote up a receipt and told me the owner would get in touch with me. I have yet to hear from him. I live 25 minutes from this business and to have made three trips and not receive the information I needed is ridiculous. If this is how they operate prior to receiving their service/product I am very hesitant to purchase from them.

Description of Work: I had my gas fireplace since 2002 and it had never been serviced. I called because there was evidence of soot on the wall anf the flame which had become so high. He said he would be here at 9am and he was. He and his son cleaned the fireplace-which was so full of soot it was embarrassing. The logs and the bricks that we couldn't see from all of the soot on the glass were all like new when they finished. The logs wew cleaned and reset and the flame was back to normal. When they left they cleaned up behind themselves.

+ -1 moreBought a house in Sea Isle City and needed to get the gas fireplace checked out prior to lighting (myself up). The gentleman was on time from when he said ("be there between 10 and 11AM, closer to 10".....10AM he knocked on the door). Knew the price prior to the visit and was expecting just an OK or the unit needs some repair. Took the logset out and cleaned it (had bird poop from the nest that was in the vent), cleaned and threw a coat of black paint on the element for life extension, and even threw a coat of paint on the inside of the unit. The unit looks ridiculously good. I could not have been happier. Would HIGHLY recommend this company. Most important....I feel comfortable that my family is safe.
Description of Work: Unit opened and inspected. Birds nest removed and logset cleaned. Burner element cleaned and replaced. Valve and mechanicals inspected for operation. Unit vaccuumed (dust etc).
