The landscaping at our new home was overgrown and loaded with weeds. The yard was more weeds than grass. It's a large property with a large house on it, and we were overwhelmed with what to do . We had a couple of landscaping companies come out, but Bill had the best answer. He suggested we clear out all the overgrown and damaged plants, get rid of the debris and weeds, freshen up the river stones and mulch the beds. He also trimmed all the shrubs, fertilized the lawn and applied tick and flea treatment to all lawn areas. It took about a day and a half and an army of workers but when it was done, our property had bee transformed. One of the other reasons that we went with Oakshade was that they also had a lawn maintenance service and irrigation service to get the sprinkler system operating again.

They came in and gave a price and the work was done the following week. The work took 2 days and the job is beautiful. Will use them again.

The owner Larry came for the estimate and was very knowledgable and helpful during the planning process. I generally want to "do the design" myself, but Larry had reasonable suggestions. I liked that he did not try to "upgrade" our original idea and that we didn't feel pressured at any time. He was not there during the day to day operations, but the crew was prompt and completed the job professionally. Larry was in touch regularly and made himself very available. He did stop by several times during the construction. All in all it was a pleasant experience with a nice finished product. I would recommend their services.

Fertilization for the full season

He was very abrupt and acted like he didn't want to be there. Showed him yard and what I needed. He said that he could do the job and promised estimate in a week. It's now October 30, 2013 and we have not heard from him.

Generally went well

Worked with company before, gives estimate quickly. Timeliness for work very variable with weather and other jobs being a factor. Answers all questions had great suggestions. Calls back when unavailable when called though not always timely. One installed step crooked. It was freezing that installation day, probably why crooked. Came back again eventually and realigned the step without hassles. Timeliness usually a concern but Oakshade Co will always get the job done and contract always honored

Steve Zimmer came to our property. We explained what we wanted to do. He took photographs of our property and then provided us with computerized renderings in full color of what our property would look like with the changes. He then spent a great deal of time with us going over the drawings and working with us to modify and expand the design until it was revised so that it satisfied our aesthetics and our budget. We were able to go to the nursery and pick out our own trees, plants and flowers. Steve was, to say the least, incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. The same can be said of him and his crew when they came to do the job. In this type of work, there are always adjustments and minor changes to be made on site, and in every instance, there was no difficulty in coming to an acceptable and creative resolution. Steve was on site once or twice each day and his crew were hard working and skillful whether he was there or not. They were terrific to work with. Important to mention is the fact that even though there were some on-site changes, the price never changed--there were no unforeseen problems and "up-charges"--which we have experienced with every other landscape service we have used. In fact, we were given a credit for a tree that wasn't needed. And included in the price is a fall cleanup of leaves and yard debris and any necessary touchups to get us through the winter. Based on our experiences with other landscaping services, Oakshade, and its sister company, Taurean Irrigation, who we have also used, are the most fairly priced we have encountered. In my opinion, they are honest merchants and really give you your money's worth. And that's rare to find in this greedy world we're living in.

Very good. The job was done when weather was warm in January. Initial conversations were great, met my expectations. Answers questions promptly. The crew was respectful and listened to me. Oakshade came to make adjustments to final product promptly (weather created some issues which he warned me of and requested I call immediatly if and when they occured). Awaiting spring clean up (We bundled the services to cut down on price) but thet always do a good job

We have had a contract with them for years. They are reliable and do a very good job. They do what they say they are going to do and do a good job at doing it.
