Description of Work: He is now doing business under Tree Cutters. We contracted him to cut down about 25 trees, remove all the the branches, stack the trees, bulldoze about 8 stumps and trim out a very large oak tree. He received 1/2 of the money up front. He cut the trees. The next day in the rain at 8 am he wanted the other half of the money and said he would be back the next day. We gave him the other half and have not seen him since. We have spoken to him, but he has one excuse after another about how he cannot show up. We found out that he took money from other people in our town and never completed the work. We are now in a legal battle with him. DO NOT USE HIM

 + -1 moreThe tree was carefully removed as indicated. The tree was located on a fence line, and the contractor was aware of the challenge of not damaging the fence while chipping away at the tree stump. A job well done!

 + -1 moreCliff Smith responded to my message right away. Both Cliff Smith, Sr. and his son, Cliff Jr. came out for an estimate. Cliff's estimate was exactly the same as two others I had received - $850.00. I went with Cliff because he has done great work for me in the past and he promised to clean up some low branches on various trees at no additional cost, which he did beautifully. Cliff and his son are conscientious and a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Their estimate was to remove two trees (one dead and one live) and stump grind one.

 + -1 moreCliff came out and gave an estimate while we were out of town, so we had quite few questions when we came home. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and when asked for a certificate of insurance, he had it e-mailed directly from his insurance company. I thought that added credibility (it's easy to doctor documents these days!). The price was very good in comparison to the other estimates we got (i.e. $500+ difference ) and the work was done in less than a day.
