Steve is one of the best handymen you will find. He is honest, reliable, and makes sure the job is always done right. We have now worked with Steve 5 or 6 times, most recently for painting of a few interior rooms in our old house before we put it on the market in July, and painting a few more in our new house in September when we moved in. Steve is extremely dependable, gets the job done on time, and in many cases is happy to lend advice to help improve quality, save money, or in many cases, both. It has been invaluable to us to have his help on a number of our projects over the years, and we'll be sure to call him the next time, as well.

Excellent job

Steve did an excellent job. We found him to be very friendly, flexible and accommodating. He was very responsive in terms of returning our initial call and arrived when he said he would to provide us an estimate. He also showed up each day promptly. Steve is very professional, easy to work with and very reasonably priced. His overall quality of work is great and we will definitely hire him again.

This was the second time we had worked with Steve for a variety of medium size projects. He has been responsive, understanding, reasonably priced, accommodating to our schedule, and has delivered high quality work. We wanted to get rid of the look of wood paneling in a bedroom where the paneling had been painted over and in some areas looked very bad. We also had some old windows which we wanted to replace. Steve purchased the windows on our behalf and installed them. He recommended spackling the wall, based on our budget, as he advised that our old plaster walls may crumble if we took the paneling down completely. As it turned out his recommendation was a great one, you would never know there was paneling in the room, the walls look great, and every spot which needed repair was done thoroughly and effectively. Steve was able to accommodate our schedule by working for four days while we were away on vacation. As we have a dog and needed some schedule flexibility, Steve made the project, and our lives, a whole lot easier by working with us on the timing of the project. In addition to transforming the bedroom, Steve completed the job of patching, repairing, and painting an area in our dining room where an old air conditioner was recently removed - you would never know it was there in the first place. Finally, he hung a large mirror which we were having trouble with. I had to insist on paying Steve for this, as he offered to just do it for free while he was doing the other work. This is emblematic of the kind of person Steve is. Based on his quality of work, knowledge, price, and the fact that he's so easy to work with, we will definitely call Steve with our next project.

Steve leveled the uneven garage walls by facing them with plywood panels for attaching many heavy duty standards to support four foot adjustable shelving, ten such units in all. Before final installation, Steve painted the prepared walls and the ceiling. We observed that he worked carefully and with great expertise, paying careful attention to detail so that the heavy shelves were level and secure for loading. Working in his own well equipped workshop, Steve perfectly sized all the shelves, cut from sturdy panels of ¾ inch cabinet grade plywood, and also applied edging to each shelf for a finished look. Steve is very personable, cooperative and accommodating, and provided expert advice when we would discuss minor changes as they arose. The work progressed very smoothly over seven days, Steve often using his own work shop as needed for sizing and cutting. At our request he easily repaired a leaking roof gutter. We gladly recommend Steve for doing your home upgrades and repairs.

You would never believe half of my wall was ever gone. Steve did an amazing job patching my wall and replacing some old wooden chair rails. He also patched a large hole in my ceiling and then stripped and painted some wood siding on the exterior of the house. He was punctual, fast, and detail oriented. I highly recommend him.

Steve first installed 3 new interior doors for us-where there were no existing doors. We were very pleased how the project turned out that we have continued to use him for additional projects. He also referred a plumber who we were very pleased with, as well. We are very happy to find such a helpful and pleasant person.

Steve arrived exactly when he said he would. He was very pleasant even when I asked him to do things that he thought were a little out of the ordinary. He charges by the hour and works at a good pace. He is very fair. He is also very clean and always pleasant.

He's very reliable, and very honest. The quality of work is very good as well. He is a perfectionist.

Steve did a fabulous job and was very professional and easy to work with. My bedroom ceiling had suffered a large patch of water damage from a leak in the roof. It had been patched up by someone else (very poorly), and the patchwork was cracking and stood out very obviously from the rest of the ceiling. Steve fixed that then repainted the entire ceiling, and now it looks beautiful, like there was never any damage there at all. I also had other small things that needed fixing or repainting, and all his work is very well done. I have a busy work schedule and the ceiling work was going to require a few days so I gave him a set of spare keys so he could get the work done. He was completely trustworthy and very reliable, responded very quickly to my phone calls and got the work done in a timely fashion. His prices were very reasonable. I will absolutely call him again if/when I need more work done.

Very friendly and professional. He clean the work area every day. Points out the problem area and suggestions. Very reasonable price.

He worked very clean every time. He would clean after everyday. He was very flexible. He provided some suggestions that were very helpful. He brought someone else in who was very personable and easy to work with. The paint was getting spotty on the ceiling but he went above and beyond to fix it, he put many coats on it.

Both Steve and his "helper" Mike were friendly and professional. They addressed any issues or concerns we had during the job. The price we paid was less then other quotes we received from painters who had crews. Steve honored a 10% discount from Angie's list for labor and used a high quality paint (according to the paint store). Another painter said he would give me a deal by using a higher quality paint. This was the same paint that Steve used. The job took longer then it would have with the other painters but the time frame worked for us. Steve also did several "handyman" jobs for us and we were equally satisfied. We plan to use Steve in the future for other jobs around the house.

They did a great job, they were quick and clean. They had excellent pricing.

All the work was done to our satisfaction. Steve is timely, came exactly when he said he would, and worked a full day. He was honest about what he could do, and what he suggested we hire a specialist to complete. He worked steadily and neatly. We felt we got excellent value for his services (he charges by the day) and will definitely use him in the future. Our "to do" list was finally accomplished... and we felt a big sigh of relief - but of course being home owners, once we finished with this task list, and Steve left we saw more items that could be done... but now instead of saying "we'll get to it next weekend" - we are just going to start a new list and call Steve when we have a day's work...

Steve Brothers is the owner of Today's Home, LLC. As a handyman and a painter, Steve is a Gem. He is resourceful, and very knowledgeable around the older house, so I often count on his consultation and advice for choosing a solution for my problem. During the past 2 1/2 months, as listed in the previous section, he has completed many different jobs and projects., large and small, for my new home, all with excellent performance.. Steve did a very good job, and cleaned up after the days work. He works by himself. The job took a little longer than expected due to the fact he was comitted to other jobs in between and the panels had to be special ordered.

Steve responded to phone calls and email in a very timely manner, and showed up promptly when he said he would. The estimate was reasonable and the final bill with materials was as expected. We are very pleased with our experience and have even hired him to do a couple of other jobs in the house. I will definitely use Steve for other jobs going forward.

He came out to look at the work and did not stay very long, but now he refuses to return a call. A plumber was present at the time and asked him about his electricians license, he said he did not have one and this seemed to scare him away. I do not care if he has a license or not, I just want the work done. I have called his number many times and it says he is not available. I had my therapist call him and he answered immediately and said he could do some work for someone in my area, but when I got on the phone and he realized it was me he just said he cannot do my work without an explanation. I would just like to know why he cannot do the work. I believe he is a good person and would do a good job, but I just want to know what is going on.

We had a terrific experience with Steve Brothers, and I recommend him strongly and happily. We moved into our 70 year-old home in August. We hired Steve to paint the interior and do some minor home repair work. As he worked, we discovered more tasks that needed attention, and he was always able to accommodate us in a timely fashion. Even as we changed our minds about colors, he was flexible and encouraging, keeping the cost down while making sure the job was done right. After the major work was done, he returned to do touch-ups, leaving the house looking almost brand new inside. We gave him a key to the house so he could work as he wished. I consider him trustworthy, timely, resourceful, and professional in all ways. As homeowners always have some new issue to address, i am sure we will be calling Steve in the future to help us out again.

He was wonderful, he was really great. He was good around the house. He was friendly, trustworthy, and just an honorable guy.

With a quickly growing toddler, I found myself in urgent need of childproofing of my home, and being in the middle of an adoption, I needed immediate repair to my fire alarm system, due to safety issues and an anticipated inspection from a social worker. I called several supposed handyman services, who basically laughed at me and said they didn't have the time - it wasn't worth the effort for them. Needing all of this to happen yesterday, I called Steve. He heard my request and actually listened to my situation, and was able to rearrange his schedule to accomodate me. He arrived when he said he would, worked quickly, and used plenty of creative problem solving when it came to my alarm system - which he also figured out as well. Needless to say, I passed my inspection with flying colors, and couldn't have done it without Steve. I appreciate his considerable skills, and his sensitivity to my situation as well. His prices are extremely fair, his quality of work is exellent, and I plan to continue to work with him. I highly recommend Steve at Today's Home, LLC!

The foyer paint job went quickly and was done very neatly and carefully. Steve honored his quote despite the need for unanticipated multiple coats of paint - and we used expensive paint! The foyer and staircase look beautiful, and I receive compliments on the room every time someone comes to the house. Steve also custom built a radiator cover (and painted it to match the trim in the room) for the gi-normous radiator in our living room - I had called several online places that sell them, and the quotes were astronomical (and did NOT include shipping costs). Steve's quote was EXTREMELY reasonable, and he installed it himself! I think it is beautiful, and finishes the room. AND I don't have to look at the very ugly, but necessary radiator underneath. We had several estimates for the job, some looked and didn't want to put in the effort & told us right away. Steve arrived when he said he would. He gave us an honest estimate. Started on time & put in a full day's work each day until done. No house damage, beautiful results. Steve was trustworthy, got along with our 145 lb. dog (a must!), reliable & did a great job.
