They were very patient listening to our ideas/wants and developing a plan that would meet our requests. The NJ Kitchen & Baths crews were very accommodating and helpful, and seemed to genuinely care that we were completely happy with the end result. Andrew and his team saved our bathroom renovation. We began our project with an unlicensed contractor recommended to us by a friend. If you're thinking about going this route, save yourself the trouble and expense by NOT doing it. We terminated work with the unlicensed contractor after about a week of seeing some pretty alarming things going on with the quality of the work. A pretty expensive lesson, but at least we stopped before he ate more of our budget and supplies. We put the project on hold for about six months, and finally met with Andrew this summer to review the work done to date. He was quick to offer his assessment of what needed to happen from here, providing a timely and thorough estimate. We had to wait a couple of weeks to be worked into his schedule, but since we had been living without the master bath for that long already, it wasn't a big deal at all. When work finally began, Andrew and his team were very thorough in explaining every step of the process, answering our questions and working very closely with us to ensure we got exactly what we were looking for. The team was always punctual, responsive and extremely professional. The end result is a bathroom that we absolutely love at a price that we think was more than fair. We look forward to working with Andrew and his team on future projects. Wholeheartedly recommend.

We met with Andrew and liked him right away. He listened to what we wanted to do and had his designer meet with us. They were open to our ideas and presented different ways of accomplishing them. Andrew always returned our phone calls and emails. His crew was great, they were always on time, they were neat and always respectful of the surrounding areas in our home. The entire project went smoothly, on time, on budget and the work was impeccable. They even painted and that was a first for us. The tile work in the bathroom was done beautifully, we also had them put a new tile floor in our foyer which we were also very happy with. I had a stackable washer/dryer installed in a closet in the bathroom which I love. Every time I go in our new bathroom, it makes me happy, it looks beautiful. We highly recommend NJ Kitchens and Baths, you will not be disappointed.

The service provided was the best we have ever had by any contractor. Their approach is professional, responsible and likable. We felt so comfortable during the process of the rebuild that when we agreed to suggested little changes around the house , we wound up much happier with the outcome than we originally thought. After all, how much did we really know about renovating to this extent? This was a big job, we have never done anything like this before and were nervous about it at the beginning. Carlos kept telling us how everything would be fine, not to worry. Of course as time went on during the renovation we wound up asking a couple of, " what do you think you can do with this?" and "Do you think you guys can add this on ....". They had no issue with our requests or changes, and took more time in order to achieve our wants. And as the house took on a more amazing look and their days with us dwindled, toward the end we said how we, and especially our Lacey Dog, was going to miss them. You see, this whole experience was actually ENJOYABLE if you dare to believe it!
Description of Work: NJK&B renovated our kitchen and 2 bathrooms from studs, plus install new tile flooring throughout most of the house, new front door, all new closet doors, crown molding, and helped us several times with patterns and color.

We met Andrew from NJ Kitchen and Baths (NJKB) in the early spring of 2012 when we embarked on remodeling two full and one half baths before we moved into a new home. During that time, we interviewed 6 contractors for the job. The remodels were simple ? no major plumbing changes, minor electrical improvements, and one sub-floor removal. The interview process with Andrew was by far the best of the six we met with ? he spent the most time with us and gave us the most ideas for how to remodel the bathrooms. We felt a sense of comfort and trust with Andrew when we first met him. He is very confident, but easy going. Needless to say, we went with Andrew and his team. We signed on with Andrew after a brief contract negotiation. Andrew provided us with a plan and timeline for the construction. He was very clear upfront with the permit process and how he would run the job. He provided us with a recommend list of suppliers for tile, stone and fixtures, but didn?t push any of his people on us. We began demolition soon after the permits were approved. At the same time, we were remodeling other areas of the home and were not living there yet. We had other contractors in and out of the house and Andrew and his team worked around all of them without any problems. The project was completed on time and we were very happy with all of the work. Andrew followed up after we moved in and ensured that any minor items were fixed to our satisfaction. There was never a question of whether something was right or wrong ? the customer was always right. In the early spring of 2014, we began thinking about a major renovation to the only remaining original bathroom in the house. We followed a very similar process as we did in 2012; we interviewed 6 contractors, 5 new ones and Andrew and his team. This project was much larger in scope as it required a reconfiguration of the entire bathroom ? the toilet was moved 15 feet, the shower was moved 10 feet, vanities were moved 7 feet, windows were moved, walls were removed, walls were added, etc. But we only had basic ideas for how to utilize the existing awkward space, so we left it up to the 6 bidding contractors to submit ideas and then we would refine them. Andrew and his team showed up with an architect and by far blew all the 5 other plans out of the water. Andrew was serious ? he knew that this not a simple replacing fixtures remodel. We quickly knew that Andrew and his team was the right crew for the job. Once we signed on, Andrew ensured that the same crew that worked on our home in 2012 would work on our home in 2014. This gave us a great level of comfort ? we knew the team, we knew their work and we felt that we could trust them. This time we were living in the home and trust was important. The process began in a very similar way as it did in 2012. Andrew quickly applied for permits and provided us with an accurate timeline for the construction. Before demo began, Andrew?s team sealed off the entire work area ? they did an excellent job. Demo began and within a day, the entire space was down to the studs. All of the debris was placed into a dumpster and at the end of each the team cleaned up and vacuumed the work space and areas of the home that were outside of the work space. During the construction, Andrew was on site many days and we would consult on various design ideas and changes. He took every one of our comments and incorporated whatever changes we felt we wanted. Additionally, Andrew made recommendations for improving various aspects of the project as we progressed. Andrew is very responsive to emails and phone calls, and getting a hold of him was never a problem. We always knew who would be there and when we should expect them. There were never days that we were left in the dark about what was happening. His billing and payment schedules were fair and well communicated up front. We never felt like we were being taken advantage of. Finally, the most important aspect: the quality of his work is outstanding. His team did an excellent job. We would not change a thing and we are a demanding client. Andrew finished the project on time and on budget (except for the add-ons that we requested). There were never any surprises that cost us more money. Without reservation, I would highly recommend using Andrew and NJKB for your next bathroom or kitchen remodel. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

We contacted NJKB to get an estimate on a kitchen renovation project. John came out, measured the kitchen and did a preliminary discussion with us. Approximately 2 weeks later, John came back by with the proposal. The proposal itself was very well done, detailed floor plans and renderings. It looked fantastic. Unfortunately it was also way out of our budget. The price for primarily the labor was $55K, without adding in the materials that we would be responsible for acquiring (flooring, appliance, countertops, cabinetry, sink, paint, etc.). All told, the project John had designed would have been in the $85,000 range by my best estimate. We explained to John that we felt an $85,000 kitchen in our house just wouldn't make sense financially. We talked about a few things that could be done to cut the cost, and John agreed to sharpen his pencil and give us a new proposal by the end of the week. We didn't hear from John for another week, so I texted him. He texted back that he would have our new proposal the next day, but warned me that while it would be more modest, it would not be substantially lower in price. I told him that I appreciated his honesty but still looked forward to the new proposal. New proposal never came. It seems clear that the budget we had in mind was simply not going to work for them, but I would have appreciated hearing that rather than wait around for a new proposal. I have to say that the original proposal was absolutely fantastic but it simply was not going to work for us. I'm also a little surprised that they were not able to scale back the project. We obtained similar services from 3 other Angie's List companies and they all provided proposals that were more in line with our budget, albeit with some sacrifices along the way. I would have liked to have seen NJKB's more modest proposal before making our decision.

We did a gut renovation of our kitchen in March/April 2014. We interviewed and collected bids from 3 different contractors specializing in kitchens & baths. We met with both John and Andrew of NJ Kitchens & Baths a few times in person before deciding to go with them. John (the designer) and Andrew (the GC) seemed knowledgeable and professional in their respective areas of expertise. Neither of the other two contractors we spoke with measured our kitchen correctly; one of them presented us with a design layout that was physically impossible based on the placement if existing doors & windows (which we had no intention of moving). The kitchen project took about 7 weeks to complete (original timeline called for 6 weeks). It started about a week after originally scheduled due to extreme winter weather which was understandable. Overall, we spent about $60,000, which was about $10,000 more than anticipated due to severe termite damage in the framing, all of which had to be ripped out and replaced (this also accounts for the extra week). This was unforeseen as it was all hidden behind the walls and unfortunately the downside of living in an 80+yr old home. The preferred vendors we worked with included MBA Cabinetry, Standard Tile, and Marvic. Our project manager, Carlos, and one of his workers, Javier, worked hard and spent a couple of Saturdays working at the house to keep things moving along so that the subcontractors and inspections could go as planned without having to be rescheduled. They were good about cleaning up their work areas at the end of the day. Carlos and Andrew had good communication between the two of them though on some things it seemed it could be better, not sure if this was due to difference of opinion. For example, the timing of when the appliances would be hooked up was scheduled before certain other things on Andrew?s timeline, but Carlos had them hooked up after, which he felt was better for avoiding damage based on his past experiences. Regular communication between Andrew, John and my husband and me was maintained throughout the course of the project. Andrew used a shared Google calendar which mapped out all of the stages of the project and which days they were scheduled to occur. This made it easy to plan when one of us needed to be at the house, or if we needed to keep our dog out of the house due to noise, dust, etc. Overall, considering the scope of the work, our remodel experience was about as pleasant as it could be. We had heard many horror stories about kitchen remodels so we were apprehensive going into it, but luckily we don?t really have any horror stories other than finding the termite damage, which obviously was not the fault of the contractor. We enjoyed working with Andrew, Carlos and the rest of their team. They were good about keeping the project moving along as we were expecting a baby in early May and wanted everything completed before he was born. We have recommended them to our friends & colleagues who are looking to do similar work.

Andrew and NJ Kitchen and Bath were fantastic. The best quality that I really appreciated was their transparency and communication. They were very honest and open about design, construction and budget. Their professionalism was paramount as we invited them into our home for a 4 week kitchen project. There was never a time where we were left in the dark or questioned one of their decisions. We interviewed many companies and we choose NJ Kitchen and Bath for their attention to detail, value and most importantly their dedication to their craft. From design to final inspection, they worked and collaborated with us to design/build our dream kitchen and we could not be happier with their process and work.

Description of Work: Andrew came to my house to assess my Kitchen remodel and provided a verbal estimate on the spot for $50,000. He seems to know his craft well, asked all the right questions. I was just a little surprised that he was able to come up with an estimate based on 15 minutes in my houses without writng anything down or taking notes. $50K is more than twice every other estimate.

It went well. Andrew handled all the permitting. The crew was efficient and kept the place pretty clean. Demo required removal of a lot of concrete, dating from the original construction in 1928.The joists had been shaved to accomodate the concrete, so they had to be sistered. Andrew had anticipated that this might be the case before the job commenced, so it wasn't a surprise or an add-on. Andrew's crew executed the tile desgin I gave them well. It wasn't complicated but required some finesse. Because the old bathroom had been leaking, part of the kitchen ceiling had to be replaced as well, and I took the opportunity to have Andrew's electrician install new lighting fixtures in the kitchen. This incurred a small additional cost; it was worth it to me. In the course of the construciton, Andre also replaced the house's electrical box with a larger box and new breakers. The project took about 3 weeks to complete. We lost a couple of days when the foreman had a death in his family and had to be away, but Anderw kept me informed and it was no big deal.

The person we spoke to was polite and went through all the details when we went through the initial quote for the work to be done. The price was about average but the responses to our questions when we sent emails about the project were slow. Our point of contact seemed too busy with other work to communicate in a timely manner about questions we had about the project. So we decided to use someone else.
Description of Work: I contacted the company for a quote to remodel the bathroom in our house. The response time was not very prompt through email so we usually had to wait a day or two to hear back when we asked certain questions about pricing or details of work to be done. We ended up using a different company.

Andrew Koutoudis, owner of NJ Kitchen and Baths, is one of the best contractors we have ever worked with on a home improvement project. The workers employed by the company are excellent and exhibit both professionalism and expert skills. They started the job and stayed until the project was finished. There was virtually no down time and the remodeled was completed a few days before promised. Andrew was prompt with the estimate and extremely attentive and available at all times during the process. Whenever we had a concern or issue he was just a phone call or e-mail away. He provided a list of preferred vendors and that made the project much easier for us. Of course, with the age of our home (60 years old), there were some unexpected plumbing issues - pipes that were leaking and corroded in addition to structural problems once the tile was removed from the tub area. The wall studs were damaged and needed to be replaced in order for the remodel to pass the town building inspections. In each instance, Andrew immediately was on site to advise both the employees and us. The level of customer service was outstanding. Our bathroom looks great. The combination of work, timeliness and customer service are exemplary - just what you would want from all contractors. We would recommend Andrew and NJ Kitchens and Bath wholeheartedly!
Description of Work: NJ Kitchens and Baths remodeled my main bathroom and replaced 6 bedroom and closet doors. The price of the job included all the permit fees, labor (plumbing, electrical, tiling and painting) bathroom fixtures (not including wall and floor tiles), cost of doors, bathroom window replacement and some unanticipated plumbing and bathroom wall structural repairs.

WE HAD BEEN PLANNING TO HAVE OUR KITCHEN REMODELED FOR ALMOST A YEAR, DURING THAT TIME WE RECEIVED SEVERAL QUOTES FROM MULTIPLE CONTRACTORS , ONE BEING ANDREW FROM "NJ KITCHENS AND BATHS" WE WERE IMPRESSED WITH HIS PRESENTATION AND DECIDED HE WAS THE ONE WE WANTED FOR OUR KITCHEN PROJECT. THE JOB WAS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN ON SEPT 9TH, HIS WORKERS CARLOS AND OSCAR ARRIVED ON THE SCHEDULED DATE AND BEGAN THE DEMOLITION ,THE 4 WALLS AND CEILING WERE TAKEN DOWN , THE ELECTRICAL WORK WAS EXTENSIVE AS WE NEEDED ALL NEW WIRING .THE TEAM OF DANNY AND JOSEPH DID A WONDERFUL JOB OF REWIRING AND INSTALLING A NEW SUB PANEL. THEY WORKED IN A NEAT CONCIENTIOUS MANNER, WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED CARLOS AND OSCAR RETURNED AND PROCEEDED TO FINISH OUR KITCHEN. THEY WENT WELL BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB. WE WERE SO PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK IN OUR KITCHEN THAT WE HAD THEM DO SOME ADDITIONAL WORK IN OUR HOUSE . WE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE THEM AGAIN AND HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED THEM TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS IF ANYONE IS CONSIDERING A RENOVATION/REMODEL IN THEIR HOME WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHOOSING ANDREW KOUTOUDIS AND HIS CREW FROM NJ KITCHEN AND BATHS, THE CONTRACTOR IS THE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT IN ANY REMODEL IN CHOOSING ANDREW YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE BEST

NJ Kitchens and Baths remodeled a full bathroom for us. The tub was converted to a shower and I couldn't be more please with the result. Andrew was a pleasure to work with from start to finish, there were no surprises his estimate was detailed and presented when promised. He kept me apprised of the schedule as the job progressed. He always returned phone calls and emails, was easy to schedule and extremely customer service oriented. There were a few project delays on my end due to family commitments but he took it in stride and was willing to accomodate my schedule. Andrew has a great crew, they were courteous, efficient and clean. Carlos the lead contractor is a complete professional and made sure the space was cleaned up at the end of each day. He does wonderful work and his recommendations through out the remodel took the bathroom from great to terrific! It's evident he loves his job and takes pride in the finished product and satifying the customer. Andrew and team made this a very positive experience and i will not be hesitant starting another remodeling job and using NJ Kitchen and Baths in the future! Kudos and thanks to NJ Kitchens an Baths on a job well done!

NJ kitchens and baths gutted and replaced two full bathrooms, including all new pipes. We loved how our foreman Darek was on the job every day. The work was done timely, neatly, and the guys were very polite. We would definitely use them again. Andrew was with us every step along the way, and kept us informed as we went. We also really liked the stone and glass suppliers Andrew recommended. Overall, a great experience.

Overall this remodel went extremely well. I was completely satisfied with the final outcome. Andrew and his team were very professional. Any & all issues that arose were immediately addressed by Andrew directly. Carlos and Oscar were very professional & went above & beyond what was necessary to complete the kitchen installation. They were also VERY neat. They cleaned up at the end of EVERY day. We had an extremely positive experience with NJ Kitchen & Bath. I only wish I found them sooner. I would highly recommend them to my friends & neighbors. In fact I already have.

We highly recommend Andrew Koutoudis? home improvement company. When we decided to renovate our basement, had 3 estimates from 3 contractors. The first two were overpriced and inept. We were told us we were we going overboard, requesting moisture resistant sheetrock, metal studs and a subfloor in the basement. One even suggested getting indoor-outdoor carpeting and just ripping in out and replacing if it got wet. Not the answers we were looking for. AND we were to be responsible for getting the permits with the city. Not an easy task when you work full time. Then we asked our neighbors, who had recently had their kitchen upgraded if their contractor did basements. Their new kitchen was gorgeous and they were very pleased with their contractor, NJ Kitchens & Baths. That was how we came to find Andrew. He agreed to give us an estimate on the basement. No joke, NY Kitchens and Baths stood out like a shining star. He listened to our requirements, asked smart questions and made some very helpful suggestions. He came back with his site supervisor, Carlos, to assess our very uneven cement floor. They determined how best to approach the problem and came up with suggestions as to how to make the space suit our needs. We had a comprehensive quote within 2 days. We were surprised at how affordable it was. And Andrew took care of all the permitting with the city. Carlos and his crew were amazing in their craftsmanship and professionalism. They worked efficiently and cleaned up at the end of each shift. Carlos made additional suggestions as the job progress and we agreed. He wanted to make the room great ? and there was no extra charge for the additional work! Andrew checked in with us every day via text phone or email. He truly cared that we were satisfied with the work. Our new basement is an oasis. From the bamboo hardwood floor and recessed LED ceiling lights to the beautiful walls. It is pleasure to work in my home office and sewing room! It is also great knowing that we have go-to contractor for future projects. We are happily recommending NJ Kitchens and Baths to friends and neighbors.
