Description of Work: I received a quote for roofing repairs from Abbot O'Reily Contracting.

Description of Work: Front stone steps were caving in. O'Reilly managed to rebuild them leaving the patio part, (the original flagstone) intact despite the opinion of several contractors that they might have to be removed. The steps appear brand new. He also saved the railings and painted them. Impressed with this job, I had him lay a new bluestone walk in front of the steps running to the street. They match the steps beautifully giving the house much better curb appeal. O'Reilly's help worked hard and never goofed off. His estimates were more reasonable than other contractors. He also repaired my roof. I sincerely hope he will be available for further jobs. His outfit is first-rate. J. Fenelon

Description of Work: Removed old cement patio and walkway. Installed pavers to form a 600 sq ft patio in backyard. Installed pavers to form new walkway from front sidewalk around the side of house and up to new patio in yard. Installed underground pvc to channel rainwater from downspouts of gutter system to drain far away from foundation of my home solving basement flooding problem.

Description of Work: My house is 100 years old and has had basement water issues for the last 15 years. Whenever it rained a lot or the ground was saturated, water would seep up through the basement floor as well as down the walls and where the basement walls met the floor. I tried running a sump pump, but it often could not keep up and didn't solve the underlying problem. I received 2 quotes and Michael O'Reilly was honest with the amount and slightly more than a well-known basement waterproofing chain. I went with Abbot O'Reilly because they were referred by a friend and more importantly, Michael did not apply any high pressure sales tactics. The work involved a drainage system (french drains) along each of the 4 walls and also one drain that cut through the middle of the basement. It also included digging a *real* pit with commerical grade sump pump as well as the plastic edging along the walls that directs the water to the french drains. The water was pumped outside (through the basement wall). We cleared out some stuff from the basement by the workers were good about working around a water softener that couldn't be moved. They had to unhook a super heavy concrete slop sink and then re-attach when the project was complete. The work was done quickly, even though they discovered that our house was sitting on shale and required A LOT of jack-hammering to build the french drains. The workers were pleasant and careful not to track the dirt into the upper floors of our home. We have had recent heavy rains and the basement has remained completely dry and the french drains / sump pump are working perfectly.
