Coit Vent Cleaning

They arrived on time, were friendly and worked quickly. There were a few minor annoyances: - They left every light on. They left the light on in the crawl space on the third floor of my house, which I only checked because I noticed they left every light on in the basement. - They changed my thermostat and didn't tell me. I understand they need to do this, just let me know so I can reset it. Same with my dryer when they cleaned the vent - they turned it on and it ran for 40 mins before I noticed it was on. - They left smudgy fingerprints around the vent on the ceiling in one room. This is the only place this happened thankfully, but still annoying. - I didn't realize they were going to cut holes in all the exposed ducts in the basement. Again, I get that they need to do this, but the scope of the work should be explained to the homeowner. They didn't really clean up after themselves where they did this, there were metal shavings left on the floor. Also, most of the holes made in the ducts are about the size of a quarter and plugged up, but there is one place where they cut big holes in the duct work and patched it with a sheet of aluminum. Again, not disclosed, just the cut aluminum left on the floor. - They sold us a sanitizing service that is supposed to kill any mold or bacteria that may be growing in your ducts. They didn't mention that it is very strongly perfumed. I opened all the windows and turned on all the ceiling fans and a week later, I can still smell it. I imagine if you are allergic or sensitive to scents, you'd have a big problem with this. Overall, I'm satisfied with the work they did, but if they fixed the minor annoyances, which are mostly just communication issues, I could give them an A.

I called at 5 pm on 11/16 wnd they scheduled for noon on 11/18. On 11/17 they called to confirm. On 11/18 I received a call at 11 am from their cleaning specialist asking if he could come early as he had finished another job nearby. I said yes and he was there in 5 minutes. The dryer vent had not been cleaned in years and was almost completely clogged. He spent a long time cleaning it from outside and was not satisfied. He then cleaned the line from the inside as he felt that there was still lint at the bend. He then went back out and cleaned the line again and a lot more lint was expelled. He ran the dryer and did not stop cleaning until he felt he had good air flow and all the lint was out of the line. He had all the proper equipment with him and worked efficiently. I had explained that we had already cleaned out the dryer lint in the tubing and back of the dryer and he provided tips on how to clean it easier. He was extremely professional and courteous and I would not hesitate to use Coit again and to recommend them to others.

The condo pays them once. But we felt like we had a blockage, so we called them again.
