It was the worst experience. The manager David dramatically underestimated our cost and time if our move by 100%. They nickel and dime you for materials such as tape and wrapping. David said it would only take 5 hours to complete the move and that included their committing time of which they charge you an hour for the crew to drive home. It took almost 10 hours to complete the move. They only sent 3 crew members to make the move. I had to move a lot of the boxes myself or it would have taken even longer. Don't ever use them.

Hi [Member name removed], First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused to you or your family. We provided you with an estimate to the best of our ability and based on the information that you provided for the move. After reviewing the details of the move as well as the information you provided we have few comments. 1. You mentioned that there are no stairs involved at the pick up location but in actuality although there is an elevator in the building because of the way that the building is designed you have to go through outside stairs in order to reach the parking lot where the truck can be parked and that slowed down the loading process dramatically. 2. As far as the moving of the boxes, you already mentioned in the initial conversation that you are going to take care of the boxes and small items and you only need the movers for the large furniture only. 3. We do not nickle and dime on packaging materials, it was clearly and well explained to you that packaging materials of any kind are not included in the hourly rate and are charged separately if needed on the day of the move. Last, it's not fair just to put an "F" rating on everything because as per the evaluation form that you filled out at the end of the move you mentioned that the movers arrived on time to the starting address and did an excellent and professional work from start to finish and took very good care of your belongings. We are sorry that it turned out this way but we are doing everything possible to provide an accurate estimate for the service that we are providing as we understand that the customer is planning his budget accordingly. We would like to wish you good luck at your new home and we apologize again for any inconvenience caused to you.

Description of Work: From our first contact with United Van Lines in Midland Park, NJ (Wade Odell Wade) to the unloading in Tucson, AZ, they were professional, punctual, clean, tidy, respectful and easy to work with. | |We had a false start due to the first contract on our house falling through, but they were entirely professional about it and the second time, which worked out, United/Wade Odell Wade, provided excellent service | |One might expect some problems with a cross country move of this size, but we didn't even have one problem or loss. Our move also included a grand piano, which they handled with great care and skill on both ends of the move. They did what they said they would do, delivered when they said they would and were very responsive each time I had a question. | |I highly recommend United/Wadw Odell Wade, Midland Park, NJ.

They were very good at what they did. They disassembled and reassembled furniture. No damage to either location's walls or furniture. The three man crew worked continually for four and a half hours, with only a 15 minute break, which was a ride between locations. Even when I encouraged them to take a break they just kept working. It was close to 90 degrees and high humidity. They were able to maneuver 90 degree turn on the second floor of the new location without any damage at all. They were exceptional! My only tip is to always move in the morning.

Mixed experience. Some aspects were excellent--estimator's service; packing and loading of delicate items. Others were not--schedule change by shipper created significant problems for us. Newly refinished floors were left uncovered during loading, became filthy and wet, and had to be professionally cleaned. We were not reimbursed for this even though we contacted the moving coordinator at the time it occurred and were assured they would address this concern to our satisfaction. Unloading crew here in GA very good. Overall, not a terrible experience, but I would consider other carriers as well.

The time and cost was exactly as estimated. David is very professional, punctual, and friendly. Absolutely nothing was broken or damaged. Although they were fast, they did not compromise on keeping all of our belongs secure. I am recommending Universal Vanlines to my other neighbors in the apartment complex and also to friends and family.

They were excellent. They were friendly and efficient. I think they did a pretty good job. The price was reasonable. It was $90 per hour, if I remember correctly. They were a little late.
