Jaeger Lumber

We had Jaeger put in new steel garage doors for us a few months ago when the old wood and particle board garage doors had finally become too warped and damaged to continue functioning properly. That experience went so well, that when we need to replace our front door, Jaeger was the first company we looked to. We made a few trips to their showroom in Union to look at several doors. They don't always have a staff member sitting in their door gallery, but if you go in the main store, the rep will come over. The store hours are somewhat inconvenient if you have a day job, but I went on my day off. After several discussions we settled on a door. They said, that just replacing the door could be done, but that lining a new door up to an old frame is not the best way to ensure proper insulation and sealing, so we went for the expanded work. Again, after our experience with the garage doors, I didn't think that they were trying to and quot;up selland quot; me on the more expensive option. Just giving me their opinion and my options. We discussed costs and I was given a clear understandable estimate and when I did have a few questions, they were clear and responsive with their reply. They worked quickly, with a minimal amount of mess and inconvenience, and we had thought that we would need to call our alarm company to re-establish the front door connection to our home security system. They did it for us right on the spot and it is working fine. The door and frame are unfinished and we will be painting it soon. We noticed that the small amount of air you could feel around our old door was gone, and the new door is so well insulated, it has seriously cut down on the noise volume of passing traffic on our very busy street.

The man who provided an estimate was extremely courteous, professional and helpful. While I didn't end up using their cabinet, it was only because I used someone recommended by my contractor. If I had not used the company recommended by my contractor, I would have used Jaeger as their prices and product were competitive.
