All City Electrical

All City Electrical were extremely professional and timely. They are courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. They are clean and they cleaned up everything after the work. They had to completely rebuild the electric line from the outside of the house so that the power company could run from the pole in to my house. I had used them before so I didn't even try anyone else.

I emailed Michael re what we needed, he got back to me the same day and came out to the house within the week to check what needed to be done. After I showed him what we were looking for and with his consultation on what would work where, he sent me the estimate within 24 hours as I requested - with some of the work itemized since we weren't sure if we would do it all at once. We decided to have all the work done, and Michael said it would be a 1 full day job. We scheduled the work for 3 weeks later since I wanted to get the wall sconces (Michael provided all other lighting hardware, bulbs, switches, etc.). Michael and Joe worked the full day to get all the work done. We have carpeting in the basement, and the area was properly covered and cleaned-up afterwards - including vacuuming the rug.

Joe showed up almost exactly at 9am. Professional, courteous and clean, he definitely knew what he was doing. Had a bit of a problem removing the old meter box because of a rusty stuck old screw that held it in place but carefully and patiently worked on it and eventually drilled it out. Wore shoe covers over his shoes each time while inside the house. Installation looks good - clean and solid.

Mike and Joe were great. Day 1 Joe installed the high hats and did the pantry. Day 2 Joe and Mike did the panel upgrade. This was a one day job but due to weather they split it up over two days. Mike was always quick to respond via email and communicated everything to me clearly. We were always on the same page and there were no gotchas or hidden costs that surprised me. This was a positive experience. Also, they were very neat and left no garbage lying around afterwards that I had to then clean up.

They came when they said they would come. They were just efficient. They first gave me a quote. The price could have been better but I don’t know; I was just so happy to have it done.

Excellent workmanship. Prompt, courteous and efficient. After each day working, a compltet clean up. They explain every step of the project, as well as to maintain the work to prevent problems later on. Each employee removes their shoes and wears paper booties in the house. All City's workmanship and professionalism is beyond reproach

I decided to try them since they were highly rated on Angie's list, and my experience with them was as good as the others. They gave a very reasonable estimate, and showed up exactly when scheduled. The electrician did most of the work in short order, but the broken outlet took longer than expected. Still, I was very happy with the work, and plan on using them for any electrical work I need in the future.

This was an extremely simple job--replacing a broken wire in the light fixture, repositioning one socket slightly, and turning a tripped GCFI circuit back on--so I can't say much about All City's technical proficiency with very difficult electrical problems. But I appreciated that the All City electrician was prompt, showing up just 30 minutes into his 3-hour window, and he was good at explaining what he was doing. He finished all the work within the one-hour mininum, so I felt that I got decent value for the money.

We needed some outlets added/and or moved in a spare room we use as an office. Mike, from all city, came over and scoped out the job then sent a fair estimate the next day. We promptly accepted. But as must clients do, I made an addition to the scope which Mike agreed to without hesitation. On Christmas eve, and electrician showed up. Put on his shoe covers and re scoped out the job. He briefly went over everything then got to work, never Once did the the shoe cover come off while in our house. The work finished in a few hours after which he cleaned up, accepted payment and left. We have used All City before and will continue to use and recommend their services. They do a great job.

I really enjoyed working with Mike and the two Joes at All City. We tried (operative word) to get two competitive bids from other top rated Angie List electricians. One of the vendors didn't even get back to us, and the other was much less inspiring by way of professionalism. Mike came in as the lower bidder (slightly - by less than 5%), and had the highest degree of responsiveness and professionalism. During the quote, Mike and I talked about the pros/cons of various things we were considering doing -- always pointing out which components were the most reliable, and which work items would be expensive compared to their benefit. Mike will also tell you his opinion from experience. Mike's quotes were super detailed, and as a former tech contractor, managing a detailed scope with a contractor was comforting for me. Mike's crew has 2 guys -- both named Joe. They were generally punctual - they said they would start at 9-10a, and arrived +/- 30 minutes from that window over the course of the three days. They were very professional, courteous, and left our house with barely a trace they were there each day. On the second day, I discovered that there was a miscommunication with the dimmer for the basement. The mistake was around whether the 4-way system for the basement was supposed to be a dimmer or on/off switch. It wasn't called out in the quote. The mistake would have cost $170 (parts & labor) to fix. After a pretty easy, matter-of-fact conversation, Mike offered to split the cost with me, and then 20 minutes later called back and said he could cover the whole thing. The quality of the work was excellent, and a couple of times I noticed the guys redoing some work that Mike wasn't quite happy with. All the light fixtures are just right, the fans don't shake, and the outlets are firm and straight. Kind of funny, the most friction came when we I asked him to flip around a 3-way light switch and we had an earnest conversation about how 3-way light switches work :) Overall, the cost came in 10% over the quote, but that was because of some craziness due to our old house with parts that hadn't ever been updated (some of the old light fixtures didn't have boxes in the ceiling for example). I feel pretty good about that, and Mike was always good about letting me know when something out of scope happened, and asked how I wanted to proceed. I highly recommend using All City. You won't regret it.

All City Electric came out same day to provide a quote and had the work completed within 24 hours (in the middle of a snowstorm and aftermath of the storm). The pricing was fair, they were great to work with, and they have quality work. I'll definitely be hiring them again soon for some other electrical repair needs.

All City Electrical gave us the best quote, from $80 to $130 under the other companies we contacted. Their electrician Joe arrived promptly and was very courteous and professional. He finished the job in about 20 minutes, including cutting the support chain to the right height. The final price was the original estimate, no surprises. A good, clean job! We would absolutely use them again.

The tenant had called in the night and said there was no electricity. Which also meant no heat. They were comfortable and so I sent All Electric a "contact me" email and they contacted me promptly the next morning. Mike Volpe was very knowledgeable and assured me that things would be taken care of. He sent out one of the electricians, Joe, and he called and said everything was taken care of. He gave me a discount on the service. It was well appreciated. The problem was that when the tenant was trying to turn the breaker back on, it wouldn't go on... they forgot to turn it off first and then turn it on. A simple job but for the tenant, and me, a very big deal! You gotta use this company for your needs if you are in their service area.

I called All City about an electric line that was detached from a property I own in town. This was a result of the recent storm in our area. Mike quoted me a price the same day I called and indicated they would be by on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. All city arrived at the property in the mid morning on the Tuesday after the holiday and completed the work. They did an outstanding job;very professional and prompt. I would definitely recommend any type of electrical work to All City. Thank you Mike.
