The provider showed on time and did excellent work. I would recommend this provider to anyone on Angies List. Matter of fact my in laws are going to contact him for work on their house. Excellent service that will be used again in the future.

Precision Decks did an outstanding job with our Deck. We are 100% satisfied on all counts.They stuck to our plan and we were extremely impressed with the attention to detail. The workers were very courteous and professional. The job turned out just like we expected. I would highly recommend this Company for your project!!

The quality of their work was outstanding and the finished product is just beautiful! However, the process itself was simply painful ? Dan Bowen?s communication (or lack thereof) was terrible, not to mention the numerous unexpected added charges. From the beginning we had delays in the project due to his lack of communication ? he failed to properly explain or coordinate the architecture plans which would be required to obtain the permit for the project, yet he instructed his team to demolish our existing deck. So we literally were stuck for a period of weeks with no access to our property and no permit to complete the project (luckily it is our second property, but we use it regularly!). Once we got through that period and obtained the permit, the construction went fairly smoothly. We went down to our property to check out the work when construction completed, only to find that our cable line had been cut by someone on his crew, so we had no TV service. Also, we found a failed inspection report, and multiple small areas which needed to be touched up. All of this was completely unexpected to us as no one on his team had followed up to see if we had passed inspection. We had to have an independent electrician come out to re-wire our cable service. Dan did address the failed inspection report as well as the other punch list items, and he did reimburse me for the Electrician and Cable company charges. However, he sent the final bill before these items were all addressed, and he also sent a Change Order totaling over $3K, which was completely unexpected as once again, he had not communicated any of the changes to us during the project when they were occurring. His contract even states that any changes would be communicated and approval sought BEFORE they are completed. I recognized that the changes made were necessary and required, even though he failed to communicate them, and so we negotiated the prices and did pay a portion of the Change Order. I was certainly disappointed by the communication problems which occurred during this project, as I chose Dan due to his company?s exceptional reviews online. Fortunately we have a fabulous new deck and all of the issues are now resolved.

The project was completed on time and the workmanship was excellent. The deck looks brand new.

Tried to get a quote several times. It took three weeks to get an appointment from the initial contact. The owner cancelled the appointment the day of the appointment due to workload. The second appointment took another two weeks and was cancelled the day of the appointment due to personal conflict. There was no follow up to schedule a third appointment. I selected this company because of the high rating in Angie's list. I suspect that the demand for his services has far exceed the ability of the company to take on new business. The other estimates for my job are coming in at about &35k and Precision Decks is no longer being considered as a viable bidder due to lack of responsiveness.

Precision was professional, dependable and the result was a beautiful deck and re-finished balcony. The crew was totally respectful of our home (left things very clean), and they worked with us to schedule the delivery of materials and construction to minimize the disruption to our lives. The whole process, from initial estimate to completion, was very easy and well-organized. Dan and his crew are really professional and great to work with. They are a little pricier than some other estimates we received, but we went with them b/c the materials and workmanship are really high quality, and we feel we got a deck that is not only great looking but also safe and will last for years.

From our first meeting with Dan, through planning, proposal development, contract agreement, city permit approval and the start and completion of the actual build time within 5 days was exceptional. Communication with the work team, daily clean up and flexibility were excellent. We are thrilled with the results. The precision with with which this team built and worked is truly worthy of the company name!

I called Precision late May. Spoke with someone and left a message that I would like to have a re-decking estimate for a large deck. The woman said she would give Dan the message. He did not return the call. I called the following week and left another message. Dan returned the call much later that day. When I said I would like an estimate for a large re-decking, he asked that I text him pictures because he wouldn't be able to get out for an estimate for a while. He stated that if I sent the pictures, he would be able to give me an estimate over the phone. I did that as soon as we finished our conversation. I sent him many pictures and approximate square feet of the deck. Dan did not contact me after that. I waited a week and contacted Dan. Had to leave another message. He called me that evening and thought he was calling someone else. When I told him who he had contacted, he was confused at first, then stated he had my information in a file and he was very busy and would get to it. He didn't contact me again. I called him once again on June 10th and left a message. He returned the call that day. I had to refresh his memory again and he asked that I give him measurements for the deck. He stated he had the file and he is very busy and I would have to understand. I gave him the measurements for the deck and have not heard from him since. He spoke to me very unprofessionally and his attitude came off as not caring one way or the other. It seems as though I would not have heard from him again if he didn't make the mistake of calling my number. The reviews for this provider seem very misleading.

I was very pleased with the quality of the installation. Since it was a retrofit, there were several unfinished areas of my old deck floor that the new railings exposed. Dan was able to find just the right-sized pvc material to cover these areas and Jeff and his crew did a fabulous job of trimming the material and piecing it in. Dan also designed the bench exactly as I envisioned it and again, Jeff and his crew did a fantastic job of fabricating it. My only complaint was that the nail holes in the seat of the bench were uncomfortable to sit on, apparently because they had not been properly tamped down. Yet as soon as I notified Dan of this, he sent someone out to correct the problem. I also felt the clean-up was sub-par. It took me over an hour to clean all the sawdust off my outdoor furniture and deck floor. Yet this is a small price to pay, IMHO, for a job well done! Kudos to Dan, Jeff, and his crew. I would definitely use Precision Decks again!

This project was an outstanding experience and a great product.?I contacted the owner of the company, Dan,?via email and we went back and forth for about 10 days on the design. I have a full time job so I could not dedicate all my time to this project. Once we were sure we had a good design, we went over?the cost, materials that would be used, how the ramp would be constructed, how the ramp would connect to the existing deck, when the project would start, how long it would take.?This was all done long distance via e-mail.?I am in Virginia and the wheel chair ramp was?constructed at?my sister-in-law's home in New Jersey.?It is exactly what she needs and was built exactly the way I wanted. If I had to do it all over again, I would absolutely use Precision Decks and Remodeling? I heartily recommend them to anyone.

It went great! Dan Bowen - Owner of Precision Decks, personally came to our house to conduct a thorough assessment prior to beginning work. He provided mock ups via email as well as different pricing options based on materials. I did independent research with other contractors and found Precision's pricing on the high-end decking materials to be very competitive, though the labor costs were slightly higher than others. I selected Precision for the project out of 4 total bids due to professionalism, although Precision's total price was higher than at least one other contractor. The crew that performed the actual work was always punctual, polite and courteous. I was home for all phases of the project and was able to ask questions and provide input to the project throughout. The crew foreman was very proactive in communicating any concerns or issues as they came up and worked with me to find solutions that were within our price range. I was also able to communicate directly with Dan Bowen (the owner) via phone, email and text message day or night throughout the entire project. He was extremely responsive and professional in following up with me on questions and requests. It was a pleasure working with Precision and I would highly recommend them to others for any type of remodeling work. Though the cost was higher than some competitors, the ability to communicate constantly with the owner and the professionalism of the work crew were well worth the cost.

I called to have my deck re-done. I need new wood and vinyl railings.?They called me the same day I sent my first e-mail and ask me to send pictures of the deck and a detailed message on what I wanted done. I did this and after a week I got no response. I sent a follow up e-mail and they responded the next day.

Dan's crew installed & designed my front porch, including a hard roof, my back deck, side steps, outside shower, trash corral, and flower beds at my So Jersey shore home. This team is professional and extremely knowledgeable in their trade. They were a pleasure to work with. All permits & inspections were taken care of. The team takes pride in their work & refuse to deliver nothing less than a Grade A+++ product. Highly recommend this company.

Removed old wooden decking and replaced with new composite decking material. Material was delivered a couple of days before work was started which was fine and expected by us. Workers were thorough and worked very well. They were nice people and I would recommend this company to anyone. Neighbors came by and were impressed with the work.

I really cannot recommend Precision Decks & Remodeling enough. Dan was very punctual when I called for an estimate, coming out and giving me a breakdown the same week. We discussed some options for the basement, and he gave me a price which was more than fair, especially considering that painting was included. I was pretty astonished at how fast the work commenced and the quality that resulted. Whenever a task needed to be done, Dan was really good about getting it scheduled as soon as possible, and everyone he sent over were courteous and and experienced professionals. In my experience, any big remodeling project is going to encounter unforeseen hiccups and obstacles, especially in an older house like mine. The most important thing is keeping things organized, and staying on top of minor problems so they don't get lost. Dan was very hands-on through the whole process, and made multiple passes toward the end to ensure all the final details were right, even to the point of offering to send out someone to fix a small hole after I had already made the final payment. I realize this review may seem a bit too adulatory, but let's face it, having one's house be under construction for long periods of time can be expensive and stressful, so it's a big relief when you find someone who can make the process as painless as possible. I love my new basement, and I'm going to call Dan again when I'm ready for another remodeling project.

I met with Dan at the Philly Home Show last year and was sold on his professionalism ..I hired Precision Decks & Remodeling to build a new front porch. These guys go above and beyond the expectations of a typical contractor. My design ideas along with their keen construction skills game my home the curb appeal it needed. Dan convinced me to use a composite wood product for the decking and skirt board and wow what a great look. DB and his crew finished the job in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this company.

The majority of the measurements were wrong by several feet and the house was drawn as straight across in the back and it isn't. There were no steps from the house or to the yard drawn in and trees that would have to be built around were nowhere to be seen.?I emailed all this to Dan.? He agreed to "revise the drawings" and asked me to "share information about the measurements."? I sent back his drawing marked up with all the errors and strongly suggested he revisit the job site to get accurate measurements.? I thought that gathering measurements was part of his responsibility in creating the drawings. I had also asked about an elevation drawing saying I had expected that as well. Four days later I received the "Revised" drawing. Several measurements were still wrong showing me he clearly had not come out to remeasure anything.? For example: the measurement of the existing deck across the back he drew at 9'4" when it should have been 12'.? At the one end where it connected to a brick patio he drew 7' (down from 9' on first drawing).? It should've been 5'6".? There was also no elevation drawing and no response to my request for it. After months of time, numerous phone calls and emails chasing this down and two incorrect versions I gave up.? I have no intention of hiring them and will definitely make sure that no one I know does either. I've belonged to Angie's List for years and have had great success with several contractors.? This was the first utter disappointment I've experienced with a contractor that had very good reviews.

I did two other quotes and he was high, so I did not use him. It was not what I would consider professional and I think that if we had gone to a contract it would have been professional. He did a hand sketch, but it was something that I was going to have trouble taking to my the home owners association for approval. The city would have required architectural structure. He did get it to the first stage of the permit approval. There was nothing wrong with it. The other two people that I used had a more professional plan. It was a very good interaction. He did have a bill of material that was complete. I would not use him again.

I went with another provider. I would have loved to get them down and get a quote.

They were great. They came when they said that they would. They cleaned up and did exactly what they said. There was some kind of misunderstanding about what I was having done at that time and they took care of it and worked it out. We discussed it and the workers did exactly what they were supposed to.

The contractor was nice. He called promptly after we purchased the deal. Our plans were sketched out according to our desires. Our final decision was to have a raised patio instead.
