Installation went quite well and the countertop looks beautiful.
Description of Work: We needed a countertop for a bathroom remodel. The hardest part for us was choosing the stone. Stone Tech did a very good job from answering all our questions in the stone display yard to the installation.

We decided to do a modest upgrade of our kitchen. Still overall budget was around $20,000. We contacted a number of remodeling firms that have nice show rooms and the like. Through a friend we learned about Stone Tech in Trenton NJ. He advised they were lowest cost in his search. So we decided to give them a try. First off, they really don't have much of showroom compared to others. This is the first hint that they are more order takers from others versus selling direct to consumers. Even so, they tried to be helpful. We walked in with complete dimensions and pictures to they were able to provide a quote quite quickly. Worked out about $100/sq foot for installed quartz top from Cambria. We chose Cambria in part due to the large slab sizes most of their stock come in. Given a particular configuration you may only need one slab versus two. This alone can save you somewhere between $1k to $2k in material costs depending upon quartz manufacturer and style of product you chose. Our 50 square feet of counter needed only one slab. Of course the first two choices we made where of smaller slabs sizes so we had to go with our third choice to keep budget down. In hind sight, we should have paid the extra cost and gone with what we really wanted. Once we chose material we were asked to put a 50% deposit down. They then schedule a person to come to your house to make a wood template that they will take back to their shop to cut quartz. Then the install. Her is the thing though. I knew from my investigations that I either had to hire a contractor / plumber to remove current sink and stove top, or I had to do it myself. I also knew that before I arranged for the template to be made I needed to have the sink, faucets and new stove top already picked out with known model / dimensions so these could be provided to the template maker. Without these you create if not a return visit, certainly a possible issue with wrong positioning / sizing. In our case we had particularly tight dimensions between our sink selection, cabinet sizing and faucet location relative our centering on our window and customized window sill. For example, if you decide to purchase a new 60/40 split sink how do you center on a window? If you center the whole sink, you may not have room for the faucet to be centered. Or do you center the sink divide and faucet? How will this all look? I can see that if you have not done your homework and walked in off the street you might be expecting them to be turn-key on removing the old and putting in the new. Not when it comes to plumbing / stove. I can imagine them showing up to do the install and homeowner has not removed the sink or stove. Everybody is upset now. So if you can handle this aspect of the job, then you should be fine buying from Stone Tech. Installer, Piotr, was very professional, timely. and cleaned up afterwards. Total removal of old counter and installation of new was 2 hours.
Description of Work: Provided and installed quartz kitchen counter-top and center island.

The people at this company really understood my concerns about finding the perfect granite and I appreciate that they took the time to help with that. But the installation itself didn't go smoothly. The counters weren't ready on time but they didn't tell me in advance, they just didn't come. The next time they came 5 hours late, and they couldn't do the installation without prep work from a plumber (which they hadn't told me they would need) so they had to leave and come back. It's not the end of the world that my kitchen is non-functional when my mother-in-law is due to arrive tonight, but it's embarrassing. It's also not the end of the world that I made sure my kids would be out of the house while the installation was taking place but in fact the installation took place on a completely different day so my three young children were here the whole time. Had I known that they didn't really mean what they said about installation times OR dates I would have scheduled differently. I felt that they were decent guys who know stone but who didn't understand my scheduling needs at all. So...nice final product, frustrating experience.

First we were referred to Stone Tech by a general contractor. My wife walked in to get an idea of pricing and availability to measure and install the granite countertop of our choice. The lady who helped my wife did not know pricing. When we got pricing, there was no clarity on whether there is an extra cost for Ogee edge or not as our contractor would say something and when my wife called, the sales person on the call would say something else. Initially we were told that a sink would be included and then they said that they would provide only a cheap sink. Finally we asked for a 3/4 round edge which is supposed to be free. The person who came for the template took the sink asked us to get the faucets so that it can be factored into the countertop. I went personally and met Eddy and gave him the faucet for measurement. He looked at the faucet box, made some notes and then said he had communicated it to the fabrication department. He also confirmed that the countertop would be installed on 7/31. On 7/31 morning, we are informed that the installation will happen only on 8/1. So we have to wait for a plumber to come in on Monday now instead of Friday to get our kitchen functional. On 8/1 the guys bring the granite to install and my wife notices that no adjustments have been made for faucets. According to the installers, Eddy never communicated the faucet details with them. Also the 3/4 round edge is not there and only a simple bull edge is there. The granite countertop stone is fantastic but the way we have been short changed has left a bitter taste. I would never recommend them to anyone

This place is top notch for quality stone and customer service. We were able to pick out what we wanted and the salesperson was very helpful with what we wanted and knowing what they had. They came exactly when they said they would and we had not 1 problem with the counter top. We get compliments all the time on the look. I recommend this place to friends and family. We also had the tiles for our backs plash supplied by them since we were so satisfied.

The first service, price and installation went well. Several years later, this year, we had them measure a large desk top area for a granite top and after a prolonged time, they came and installed soap stone instead of the dark bown granite we ordered. We called and went to the site 4 times and finally got our correct granite installed. We were billed for soap stone and sill several months later , we have not received our refund . They did not do anything. To compensate us for the major inconvenience.
Description of Work: First they measured and installed 110 sq feet of beautiful granite a t $700 below the next lowest price, prompt and well done

Selection of countertops is huge. Dino and Eddie are the owners and very helpful and pleasant to talk to. They gave details and suggestions that I appreciated. They provided the proposal, helped to select a unique granite top and reserved it for a long time to meet our schedule. The installation outfit they use is not upto the mark though located on their premises. Even though the countertop was expensive and excellent, installation staff did not do justice to it. Installers did not make template. Final installation had gaps all arond the place. It needed some onsite cutting to adjust. In the whole kitchen remodelling, installation of countertop was the only part that did not give satisfaction compared to the rest of the project. The two installers were not communicative with us. Since they spoke among themselves in different language, it gave the impression that whenever there was a problem, they preferred to hide it. They hurriedly finished the installation that included under mount sink installation. The granite top, its polishing, edges were very good.
Description of Work: To provide the selected granite countertop and arrange the installation.

We chose granite that we really liked and had our name put on that particular slab. We were assured that this exact piece (and a second one) would be ours. When we went to choose the island granite, our slab, right at the same moment, was being cut out for someone else. We don't like the granite they gave us and protested. The installation isn't too bad, but the sink isn't in exactly right, the dishwasher is not returned to its proper position and a corner cupboard was broken. They sealed the granite once. Right away there were stains from water. I called Stonetec and they came back and put a second coat of sealer on. They left part of the bottle of sealer for us. I sealed again, but the granite is picking up every single drop of water. I have trays for everything on the countertop (hiding the granite). Unfortunately, I set a bottle of oil on the counter for a couple of moments by mistake. It left a deep stain that I can't get out. This was a major investment and upgrade, why should we have an old-looking countertop? Most everyone I know had their counters sealed with a guarantee of a year.
Description of Work: They measured and installed the granite countertops. They also supplied a sink.
