Description of Work: Replaced a cedar shake roof with new synthetic Da Vinci shakes. Work was done efficiently with minimal damage and that damage was quickly repaired. Charlie Flesch was slow returning my first call and it took a while to get an appointment. One reason was the rainiest year in a very long time. A second reason was he actually shows up frequently during the actual installation. He was hands on during the estimate going up on the very steep cedar roof and did not try to sell me by bad mouthing competition, promising to finish in 2 days or trying to sell us on new gutters( since the present ones would certainly be destroyed by the installation process, a pitch actually tried by one estimator.) We had quite a discussion on the DaVinci shake which is even more expensive than heavy splits. He is a DaVinci installer but does real cedar and real slate as well as fiberglass. He has done lots of DV slate but no shakes. I did lots of on line research and looked at samples of 5 other synthetic shakes and liked the DV shake. Charlie was able to get a great factory deal and we opted to take a chance on this 50 year guarantee product but worried what it would look like versus the sure thing cedar that we have had fo 25 years. It is now done and looks incredible and my hope is it looks as good 5 and 10 years down the road.
