 + -1 moreWe were not happy at all. They had a new guy doing it and he overwet our carpet. It pretty much caused spots in it and they would not even come out and look at it. I wrote letters to corporate. We would never use them again. They shouldn't have a new guy who didn't know what he was doing come in and do a whole house cleaning. When I asked him about why certain areas were so wet, he said that it will dry in less than a day. Three days later, the carpets were still wet. It wasn't good. I wasn't happy all the way around. The price was fine. The punctuality was fine. I care about the fact that they didn't do a good job. I ended up with spots on my carpet. It was a good price. Quality was horrible. They were late but they weren't too late.

Vendor responded promptly to request for service, provided comprehensive quote for service requested, performed cleaning in minimal time and cleaned up immediately upon completion. Quality of work excellent. Plan to use again.

 + -1 moreThe cleaning went well and in comparison to other companies who use steam, the carpets were certainly less wet, so they dried faster. When I called to inquire about an appointment the young lady was very polite and gave me all the details of what to expect. She did mention that the estimate could change once the team actually arrived on site to see the room sizes. I was called the day before to confirm the appointment. The price was more than quoted, because there is a charge according to how many stairs you have and there were additional charges for an antibacterial and anti-allergen process which I did not get because this would have taken the cost to almost $500.00 even with the $45.00 discount.. I used to have a Stanley Steamer Contract which would cost about $295.00 a year, again the process is more wet, but the price is certainly more affordable, especially when you consider the contract gets you at least two cleanings of certain areas a year. The service is good, but the price is too high! Since I had to give a yes or no as to wheter I would you them again, my real answer is maybe.
Description of Work: Carpets cleaned in Master Bedroom, Upstairs Hall, Staircase and Family Room. The heavy furniture is moved, except in the bedrooms, they do not move the bed, dressers/chests or night stands. So to be clear, you really are only getting the areas that are walked on and not the full room. Chem Dry vacuums the carpets first, then the cleans and the last steps is to comb/rake the carpet to bring back the nap.

 + -1 moreOverall I would say that I was not happy in the least with the experience. I felt taken advantage of and to get the basic "tough" attitude on the phone with the rep made me feel even worse. The feeling has left me angry at myself for not telling them to leave. I know that there are a lot of companies out there that pry on folks and given the flood levels in NJ I guess I was lucky to only find one out of the six I called. I have told everyone about this and let them know to be very careful when they ask for a "free estimate".
Description of Work: After a serious flood in our basement we opened the phone book and looked for firms that advertised "Free Estimate". This was our first experience with flooding and wanted to be well informed. We made a list of about 6 firms and each one came in and told us what it would cost to fix our problem. They all left brochures and business cards and were very helpful. Chem-Dry was the first ones we called. They scheduled us for that Wed or Thurs but didn't show up until Fri. A pair of workers came in, checked the moisture in the walls (which were sitting in two inches of water) and told me they were wet. They told me how much it would be to clean it up and then asked for a payment of 150.00. I explained to the worker that the ad said "Free" estimate. You will get it back when you book the job. I called the office and was told by the gentleman on the phone that I was being charged for a service call. "But there was no service call booked", yes there was, you booked it when you called us to come out. Free Estimate was a lie and was not part of the deal. I felt taken advantage of and being confronted by two total strangers in my house while by myself, I payed the fee.

 + -1 moreThe technician arrived as scheduled. He was polite and professional. Small pieces of furniture were moved as appropriate, and stained areas were pretreated. I was disappointed that the two carpeted steps into the family room were skipped, and cost extra to clean. Since the steps are in a high traffic area, they needed to be cleaned. When I expressed disappointment about the dirty steps leading into the now clean rug, the technician said he would clean them with a smaller machine at no extra charge. Since I paid $200 for the job, I did not think this was an act of generosity. Overall, I was pleased with the result. However, I was also disappointed to learn that a $5 gasoline surcharge was added to my bill. Despite the fact that I had spent quite a bit of time on the phone with the scheduler no mention was made of this fee. Prospective customers should definitely be told about this surcharge upfront. I would consider hiring again but would review in depth extra charges and fees
