A man from Broadway came to my house to estimate and he was very nice and professional. However, my original quote was about 1/3 of what the actual price ended up being. I did add an additional pickup location after the original quote, but it was on the way to my house and was just a couch. Besides the drastic difference in price, the two men that came did do a great job and handled everything with care. I did not have any damaged items or walls. In short, the quality of the work was great, but the person estimating needs to do a better job.

We hired Broadway to move the contents of our home to their storage facility for 2 months and then to our new home. The gentleman who came out to give me an estimate for the move and storage was very professional, sold his business as being family run and claimed they hired only professional movers who had worked for them for many years. However, when the crew arrived they came unprepared right off the bat. The truck was too small and they had to get 2 extra men on the job. The men complained immediately and vocally about having to move 3 floors and a basement of items so I guess they were not prepared for the job. They were not the speediest either and the bill for the first phase was over the estimated cost because of how long it took and the extra men needed. When our belongings were delivered to our new home we found that our bed frame and dining table had been water damaged in storage despite their claim of climate controlled storage. The blanket that the table top was wrapped in was soaking wet and the both items were covered in mildew and the wood was damaged beyond repair. The damage to our bed frame must have been noticed by the movers in storage because someone had done a shoddy job with a marker to try and cover it up. It looked like it had been colored by a 3 yr old with a Sharpie. Instead of bringing the damage to our attention and professionally making reparations they had tried to cover it up. In addition, a glass shelf from our bar was broken and the mirror top on a table was shattered. Clearly, they were not careful when loading and unloading. I realize this difficulties of moving items and was prepared to find a few dings and dents, however the losses mentioned above were in addition to the lesser dings and dents to many pieces. Broadway could have made up for the damages quickly and easily and I would have been satisfied. However, in trying work with Broadway to get reimbursed for the damages it has been 2 months of being put off for one reason or another. l am still waiting and will gladly update this review when and if reimbursements are made. The negative experience was not just with the workers who came to house but with management as well and I would not recommend their services.

I, Peter Crocker, am sorry to read your review, even after our business’s numerous personal conversations with you about your claim. We would not be in business for this long if we did not treat every client with our utmost urgency to resolve any issue. We do apologize for the delay. I would like to clear up the more troubling issues to assure your satisfaction. Your moving date happened to be a very humid, hot and rainy day in June. Loading furniture in those conditions can impede the movers both on time and safety. We added an additional 2 men and truck in an effort to speed the move up for you, not because we were unprepared as you may believe. You were not charged for the truck and were given our discounted additional movers. Unfortunately due to the loading of your household goods in the rain some items may-have went into storage wet. Every attempt was made to wipe down all items prior to unloading all items into storage, but again even with our best efforts some items may have remained wet and as such lead to some of your claims. We at no time attempted to use a sharpie or any other device to cover any damages. We had our furniture repair person schedule a time to come to your residence and review your damages. We understand that accidents can and do happen in our field of work, and should our best efforts fail then our claims service usually makes up for any damages in a timely fashion. The specialty pieces you may be referring to as taking longer than 2 months is the piece of glass that was not easily replaceable. We attempted to have it recreated at 3 different local companies but they were not to accomplish that for us. We also attempted to contact the manufacturer but they are no longer in business. We currently have a 4th glass maker who is replicating the piece to both yours and our standards. We have gone above and beyond our normal policy to help our client, much before we received any such review. Currently the glass is completed and will be delivered to you, fulfilling our claims commitment to you. We are reminded daily that moving services can be an uneasy and sometimes emotional business. We at Broadway Movers try to make our clients moves as smooth and easy as possible and to much praise and satisfaction. We are sorry that yours had it difficulties and hope that you do consider us in the future as we strive to provide top service to our clients over or competitors. Thank you.
