I first contacted the authorized/official Wolf service company in my area (they are also on Angie's List), but I found them to be rather rude and couldn't fit me in for another week. I contacted Frank and explained the problem. He indicated that he does not generally work on Wolf appliances, but he would be willing to make the trip and attempt to diagnose. Frank arrived in the time window he promised, and though he was unfamiliar with his particular oven, he was able to think his way through the problem, diagnose the issue, and replace the part.

Description of Work: Called Frank regarding a refrigerator problem about 8:30 PM to leave a message as it was after his listed office hours. To my surprise he answered the call and set an appointment for the next day to which he was on time. He was very straightforward about the issue with us. He ordered a part which came in a few days later and was out the same day to install it. All in all very happy with his service.

First of all, if a person was so disappointed with any service company, WHY would you wait OVER ONE YEAR to complain? That being said, I stand by my record of 92% ‘A’ Rated Reviews. After diagnosis, member was informed that the repair would be expensive, due to the fact that removal and reinstallation of the dishwasher would be required to replace the parts determined to have been needed.

Frank arrived on time and went right to work to look at why our clothes dryer was not tumbling the clothes. He quickly diagnosed that one of the motors, the starter motor, was not functioning. He then told us the bad news and then the good news. Bad News: this is a costly repair that would not be worth doing. It is better to just buy a new dryer. Good News: Frank showed us that he could get the drying to tumble again by just helping it along to get it started. Once started, the second motor kicked in and kept it tumbling. In fact, we have not had a problem with it starting up ever since he did this. I was thankful that he showed us how to get around having to buy a new dryer right away. Months have passed and the dryer continues to work with out a problem. I paid Frank the agreed upon price to come to the house. Unfortunately, I do not remember what that was. Frank was efficient, and informative. He did what he needed to do for us and I did not feel that he took advantage of us. I would call Frank again for a similar repair.

Frank is the best. He arrived within the specified time frame, diagnosed the problem and did the repair all within a reasonable amount of time. I don't know what the average pricing is for labor and parts, especially on a Saturday, but I suppose his pricing was fair for the work done. What I liked best? Frank took the time to explain the situation and made me feel comfortable... priceless. He also saw an issue with my dryer duct that he believed I could replace on my own. Frank told me what to by and exactly what to do. I went to a big box homestore, bought the parts and replaced the duct, no problem. Thanks Frank.

He was so friendly and helpful. I thought it was great that he still provided what help he could even though it wasn't a brand he services. I will definitely call again next time we need appliance repair for other appliances he may service.

Very friendly and respectful, ordered and replaced valve in short order. Would definitely call again. A secondary problem with the maker showed up a couple of days after the first, and Frank fixed it at no cost to us. We also hired him ten years ago to replace a broken window in our oven door. It was not a commonly available part, but Frank managed to locate one at a reasonable price. We would not hire anyone else for help with our appliances.

Called Monday, made appointment for Tuesday. Frank called Tuesday said he had an afternoon cancellation and could come an hour early. Drove over to my mom's house and he arrived shortly. Ran a few tests on the dryer, diagnosed the problem, figured out the cost to fix. He gave me a small discount on the price. I said OK.seems fair. Frank went out to the truck got the parts and everything was buttoned up and working in about a half hour. Nice guy would def. use again and would recommend to others

He gave a few suggestions on saving our frozen food when we called. He was on time and very professional. He also was very honest in stating that it would not be worth trying to repair the freezer but just purchase another one. He also gave us a few tips as to what to look for in a new one and what not to waste money on as far as extras. I would recommend Frank to anyone who asked. Compared to chains who supply repairmen, the price to come out was very fair.

I can completely understand if he is so over run with clients or just was not interested in the job, he could have politely stated that. Instead, he was very inconsiderate on the phone and when I told him the type of of washer, he without hesitation just said "I don't service those"
Description of Work: Made a very basic phone call to ask about my dishwasher. Looking for his help. Holy cow, it sounded like I asked him to split the atom. Seemed completely uninterested in me as a client and it was like pulling to teethe just to get a conversation going.

Response from Appliance Tech by Frank Lecato
I regret to say, I don’t remember speaking to this customer and I have found out in the past that customers calling around soliciting repair companies sometimes get them mixed up. That being said, if it WERE me, and not another company, customers should realize the fact that I’m a “one man show”. I answer the phones, do all of the administrative work, diagnosis and repair, and therefore, it’s possible that I may have been in the middle of a service call, doing a repair or talking to a customer. More times then not I don’t have time for lengthy conversations. In any case, I never just say “I don’t service those”, I always say “I’m SORRY, I don’t service those”, or “I’m sorry, I don’t service that brand or your area“. At first I wasn’t going to respond due to the fact that if you check ALL of my other members’ reviews, I’ve received ALL “A’s” in the “Professionalism Category”, bar none. But then I thought that might be misconceived as being rude, or arrogant, so I felt that a response for this customer was necessary. Hopefully, this will help this potential customer understand what may have happened, because I AM interested in all my customers‘, and potential customers’ needs. Most people are unaware of what’s happening on MY end of the phone, and hopefully this will help to clear things up.

The belt that turns the dryer drum had snapped. When I called, it happened that Frank had had a cancellation and was there within the hour. He didn't waste any time and got right to work. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The only thing I wasn't happy about was that I had wanted him to replace the washing machine hose strictly as a precaution since he was there, but he said the valve was rusted frozen and would have to be replaced by a plumber.

Shut valves ( faucets ) can only be replaced by a licensed plumber. Had the valve been operable, I would have happily replaced the hoses for her, after all I had the hoses right on my truck.

I found Frank's company highly rated on Angie's list. He is located right up the road from my house. I made a reservation on Sunday afternoon. I thought I'd get an answering machine or service when I called. Instead, Frank answered. He took the information down very professionally and gave me a choice of two, four-hour periods on a Monday -- noon to four or 1 p.m. to five. He listened closely to my description of the problem. On the day of the service call, he called me just before his arrival and asked that the dryer be turned on and running because, with the problem i described, running the dryer before he looked at it would speed his diagnosis. He came when he said he would. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and quoted a price estimate. The estimate was exactly what he quoted. He had the problem repaired and the bill ready in less than 45 minutes. The dryer works better than when it was new. He left a card in case we have more appliance problems. He will get the call for my appliance repairs from now on. You never expect a repair person in New Jersey to provide service as good as he gave.

We called about a washer that would not spin out the water. The making of the appointment was very professional and the follow up was great including calls to confirm and give us an update on his arrival time. Upon arrival Frank was easy to talk to and very informative about what he was looking at and what might be the problem. As it turns out we could not reproduce the problem but Frank gave us next steps and advice on how to proceed should the problem recur. Wish all service providers were as professional and informative.

The experience went OK. My only complaint would be that information that was given to me after he came out and it cost me $ 80 could just as easily been given to me when I made the call about the problem. I accept some responsibility for that as I did not ask the question point blank - is it worth fixing this item. Obviously he could not give a complete answer without seeing the item but more general info could have been given at that point which would have led me to not bother with the service call and just get a new machine.

Response from Appliance Tech by Frank Lecato
When (deleted member name) called me he said his washer was making a noise in the spin cycle. I've had many noisy washer complaints that I was able to fix, at a minimal repair cost, by simply removing objects from the pump, for example . And then again I had noise complaints that turned out to be major repairs, as in (deleted member name) case. Another example, was a call I received and the customer told me she found 'oil' under her washer, and I told her the only part in a washer which contains oil is the transmission and it would be expensive to repair. She later wrote me a letter saying she called someone else and they found it to be "fabric softener" not oil. She was mad at me that I wasn't more attentive to her needs and concerns. I not only lost THAT call, but I lost THAT customer and any future calls and referrals she may have given my business. After situations like that I now tell all my customer "if you get any work done I'll waive the service charge", but I do have to physically diagnosis the problem and charge the fee if no repair is performed.

Mr Lecato came on the day and at the time promised to fix my very frosty frost-less freezer. He quickly determined that the problem was a heat sensor that had gone bad, preventing the defrost cycle from running. Once we got the blocks of ice fully melted (we made a pretty good team!), he replaced the sensor and my freezer and refrigerator are both working as good as new. I would not hesitate to refer Mr. Lecato to anyone who is having problems with a major appliance.

Had great communication from Frank. Gave me time period of arrival between 1 pm and 5 pm and also called a couple of times to give me update on arrival time and let me know he was on his way over. Spent about an hour fixing my machine--problem ended up being some damaged electrical wires. Price seemed fair; he told me somewhat more expensive to repair stackable washer/dryer combo units. Moved unit over a bit for me to permit better efficiency (dryer air duct cramped). Cleaned up mess when finished. Friendly demeanor and a good overall experience.

I was very happy with him even though he was not able to fix the machine. He told us that it would have cost as much or more to fix the machine as it would cost to buy a new one so he made a recommendation that we were really better off to get a new machine so I appreciated his honesty very much.
