INCREDIBLE! We came home on a random Tuesday night to find water coming down from our kitchen ceiling. Called All-Better at around 6pm and by 6:45 Mike was at our house. We didn't at all expect someone to come that night and had already shut our main water supply off to stop the leaking. The young lady who answered the phone said that they'd try to come that same night. Wow! When Mike arrived, he was professional, neat, pleasant, and had to find the puzzle of what was leaking, which turned out to be a pin-hole in one of the supply lines in our kitchen ceiling. To do that, he had to cut out the ceiling, piece by piece to find the leak, and despite the damage, we can't say enough about how neat and clean his work was. Mike apologized repeatedly for cutting up the ceiling, when that part of the sheet rock would have had to be replaced anyway since it was soaking wet and starting to fall on its own. When he finally found the leak, he replaced that section of pipe and even took down some of the extra saturated sheet rock surrounding the leak, and then even wanted to sweep up after himself. Who does that? This is my first Angie's list experience, and I'm a believer. These guys were amazing! All of us have bad experiences with plumbers and All American is the real, old-fashioned, take pride in your work kind of business. We are still blown away by their customer service!

I called the company in late March for toilet replacement (water kept running in our previous toilet) and was told that the replacement cost would be $199 (we supplied the new toilet, which had been delivered before my call). The plumber (Will) came on March 31. He felt that he could fix the problem by lowering the water level. He charged $125 for the repair, which took him at most three minutes without using any parts or materials. He did not change the toilet, and said that he would warranty his workmanship for one year. Two days later, the toilet became dysfunctional again (water kept running). So I called the company again and was scheduled for another appointment on April 11. After the plumber (Will) heard my description of the problem over the phone, he recommended that we replace the toilet. Because our floor was not even, he said he could not give us the $199 replacement price. Once he finished the job on April 11, he charged us $325. I asked him whether he could refund us the $125 initial repair charge because the repair did not work, he said he could only refund me $50, which means he still needed to charge me $75 for the initial repair even though the repair failed. So I paid him $275. Although I made the $275 payment, I felt uncomfortable because I could not understand why I had to pay $75 for the repair (March 31) that did not work. I thus called the office on April 13 and requested that they refund me the $75. The lady on the phone said she would talk to the plumber (Will) and get back to me by the end of the day. In the evening, I received a receipt of $275 without any refund or any further explanation. Overall, I see three problems with the company: 1. Their own interest comes before customers' interest. Although the plumber's (Will's) initial repair on March 31 failed completely, they would not honor their warranty or refund us the full repair cost. 2. Dishonesty. After his repair work on March 31, the plumber (Will) clearly told me that he would warranty his work for one year. However, on April 11, he said that he would only warranty toilet replacement, not repair (his words -- "We don't warranty repairs"). 3. Lack of control. Since the plumber (Will) is the owner of the company, he is the one that has final say if any customer service problems surface. In our case, apparently he did not want to give us full refund for his own failed repair work. His decision was the final decision. *** Comments on the service provider's response: (1) Time. First visit (3/31): The plumber was at our home for about half an hour, not an hour. His time: (a) with my help, he brought the new toilet from the garage to the second floor and then brought it back to the garage (up to 15 min in total) (b) visually checked the toilet and manually adjusted the bar in the toilet (up to 3 min) + (c) conversation with me (up to 5 min). Second visit (4/11): The plumber was at our home for less than 2 hours. He came after 4:00 p.m. and left before 6:00 p.m. (2) His helper was an apprentice and I was told that the apprentice's main job was to help the plumber carry the new toilet so that I didn't have to do it like I did in the first time. Your response sounds like two plumbers came on April 11; it is not true. (3) It sounds like you gave us a big discount for the new toilet installation. Your standard price is $199 (for customers supplying new toilet) and we have paid you $400 for this whole thing (we supplied the new toilet). I wonder how much you would have charged for this job without the "discount" -- $600? (4) For the $75 charge based on your service on 3/31, the question boils down to: should customer pay for failed repair? Your plumber's answer is yes. I respectfully disagree.

It went very well, they investigated the problem and informed us on how to solve it ourselves. They also fixed a small problem I was having with our bath tub. I would highly recommend their services.

These guys where a joy to have in my home and are probably the best problem solvers I've ever hired in quite a while. There were challenges that appeared at several points in this project and they had a solution every time. They stuck with the job and maintained the same quality of work as when they stared even when the job got frustrating. Excellent service and quality. I will be using them for all of my plumbing needs.

Quality job, fair price, friendly service. Will came out at the end of the day and stayed well into the evening to get everything done. I would definitely use them again for jobs that were beyond what I could do myself.

Service was good and fast, came out and took care of problem promptly. .

Called the # on Angies List. Owner came within one hour to disconnect and drain old leaking hot water heater before it flooded the basement. He returned the next day to install and test a new one. Remarkable response and competence.

Will was clean, professional, fast, accomplished, and reasonably priced. He did exactly what he said he would. When I asked him to review other items, he advised me on how to take care of it myself at a low cost. I would have paid for an additional service, but he declined because it would have been overkill for the job. I would absolutely use him again.

We had no hot water. Went on Angie's List and got All Better Plumbing phone number .Will came out the next morning and purchased a new heater for us. He then installed it and we had hot water by dinner time. He was punctual and very professional. We then had a problem with one bathroom faucet after the water was turned back on. Will came back out, ordered the parts for us and came back again to fix the problem. Very nice guy and we will be calling him again.

Will was professional and prompt.

Will replaced a water heater for me. He helped me get the best model out there, beat Home Depot's price on the service and even helped me patch some holes in the wall next to the water heater that I was going to pay someone else to help me with! Great service, will use again!

We have used All Better Plumbing several times. Will is courteous, prompt, professional and does a great job.

The job proved to be bigger than we originally planned, but he did his best at not making it any more painful than it already was. They actually performed some underground excavation work that was extremely tricky and potentially dangerous just to keep from having to rip out my entire driveway.

The person showed up and basically inspected the plumbing of the house.

I have used Will's services for over a year. He is good at what he does. He charges fairly and is a very nice & friendly guy. I am sure he is the only plumber I'll ever call.

Very very very very bad, I order using big deal $50 for $200 of worth. The guy spent only 15 min, actually broke the working ones I did not fix the not working ones. He says He can only spent 15 min for the money I paid. This is a fraud deal. If he spends 15 min for $200 work then do that what is his cost of labour. I do not recommend this company at all.

Mediocre. I wasn’t too pleased. Actually what I did is since the value of it is good until March I didn’t used him to do the toilet thing. I had him put a new faucet in the kitchen and he charged me I think about $110 but anyway on the end of the faucet was a, I had portable dishwasher and plan to hook it up to and so he took it. He actually think I have the old faucet and I said yes so then I called his number and I said he took that particular nozzle with him and I need that for my dishwasher and he brought it back and my husband took it the plumbing sewer and they put it back so it does work out now. It does work but I haven’t use them yet to come back to do the toilet things but it was just, I don’t know. I can’t remember what he charged me now. I purchased the faucet. What I’m saying is he charged me that just to put it in so I had already put it in. For the pricing – I don’t know because I don’t know what to compare it to. See, I have relatives to do plumbing and they don’t want to charge me and I feel bad using them and not paying them so that’s why I contacted him. The quality of their work is good except that they took the faucet with them.

Went well. Did a nice job of inspecting toilets, grouting etc. There wasn't much involved work to be done since the repair and bathroom upstairs had already been remodeled, floor tiles re-grouted etc. He did give a good assessment of the quality of work done.

I called yesterday afternoon and they were here this morning with a new 50 gallon Rheem gas heater. My 30-year-old 40 gallon Kenmore that came with the house finally died. Will and Johnny arrived on time and took care of everything for one price, everything was included with no hidden fees. I will definitely use their services again, and already plan to schedule an appointment for other plumbing work after the holidays.

They showed up on time and assessed my sink before installing it. I was taking out an old cast iron sink with stained enamel. Because I was switching in a different kind of sink, they informed me that the counter top really needed to be cut a little differently. After offering to let me get a carpenter who could do the job correctly and most professionally, an offer I told them I wasn't really interested in, they said they could do the cutting but would need to get extra tools. I appreciated that they didn't just dive into the job to lock me into using them for the work and then leave me without a sink for who knows how long. Both plumbers who came seemed very knowledgeable and honest. They made me feel like I had made the right choice choosing them. They came back the next day and performed all of the work in a couple hours and while they were at it, they noticed my toilet was running slow and snaked and plunged it. The sink looks great and I was impressed with the quality of the work as well as the honesty. I am going to schedule them to come back for some additional work.

He came and did all the services and did a fine job. He was on time and answered all my questions.

I was very satisfied with the services provided by All Better Plumbing. The owner, Will, was very responsive to my emergency and came to assess my situation on the same day he was contacted. He made sure that the gas was off and that I at least had cold running water for the evening as I had shut everything down. We discussed my options as far as the size and type of water heater I needed and also discussed prices. I opted for a high efficiency model because of my whirlpool tub capacity. His prices were fair and reasonable for the heater I chose, way less than what PSEG had quoted me for the same exact installation, size and type of heater. I initially contacted PSEG to get an estimate because of their 24 month payment plan but decided against it when their technician provided me with a ridiculous estimate of $4,000. Will and his assistant arrived the next morning with the new water heater and completed the job before noon without a hitch, everything went very well. Will does a great job, is knowledgeable and fair with his pricing. I would not hesitate to use All Better Plumbing in the future.

Arrived on time. Work was done well and finished quickly.
