Quality Construction & Roofing LLC

We had several chimney contractors come out and we received roughly the same price from all of them. The plan was the rebuild our damaged chimney from the roof up and to install liners down to two fireplaces to make them into functioning wood burning fireplaces. They started work on the discussed date but, unbeknownst to me, they failed to get a permit to begin work and were promptly shut down by the building inspector (I guess he was driving by). They told me they pulled a permit for a person with a similar name, but, I ended up having to go down to city hall with the project lead to fill out the permit application with him. Once the permit was obtained the work went quickly and was done over the course of two days. They did not install the caps on the chimney as they wanted to wait until everything had fully set first. Three weeks later I finally got them to come back and finish the job. I haven't used the fireplaces yet but with the fall weather coming I may give them a whirl. If there are any problems I'll post an update but everything seemed to be done properly and everything went smoothly with the inspection.

A few months ago, in response to their Val Pak advertisement, I contacted Quality Construction & Roofing, LLC to come by and give me an estimate on gutter cleaning, repair of 2 gutters and replacement of a third that was damaged by a tree branch. I decided to go with "Quality" and scheduled the work for a few days later. they did not show up at all the day that the job was to be completed, despite assurances from the lady they have answering their phone that they were on the way. At the end of the day I rescheduled for the following day. But to my amazement, also were no shows. By this time the rain storm I was trying to get ahead of was already raging and we got some more water in the basement due to the damage to the gutters. Now to present day. As I'm now in the market for a complete re-roofing I called several companies for estimates. By my error I contacted "Quality" again to schedule an appointment. I was told they would be here between 9a-1p today and again no show. If you value your time at all, don't bother with spending a second of it with them.

Quality Construction & Roofing came out to look at my chimney, which I had gotten another company to repair. Quality Construction said the previous repair was shoddy and they had done a bad job. They gave me a $100.00 discount, for a senior situation. They were very reasonable. They've been calling me back. They set up a payment plan so I could send what I can afford every month to them. They wanted to do the job and do it properly, the way it was supposed to be. They're very good and punctual. They good at caring for seniors, more so than anyone else that I contacted.

We received a flyer from them in the mail which said their prices for gutter cleaning are from $29.99 and up. We are generally not home during the week, so we made an appointment with them for last Saturday, and they said that they would arrive between 9 AM and 1 PM, and call us at least 30 minutes before. By 1 PM we had not heard anything, so we called them. They said that a couple of jobs they had earlier in the day had taken longer than expected, and that we could now expect them to arrive between three and 4 o'clock, and that they would call us at least 30 minutes before arrival. Finally, they called about 430, and said that they were not going to be able to do the job that day, and that we needed to reschedule. We rescheduled for this morning. They showed up and quoted us a price of $350. When I told them that their price was crazy, they offered to do it for $320. I told them they were out of their minds, and sent them on their way. To put things in perspective, the last time we had our gutters cleaned earlier this year, we paid $50. We have a four bedroom, one story ranch, so all the gutters are as easy to access and clean as can be. Their $29.99 price must be for someone who lives in a 10' x 10' shed.

We called this company on November 21st 2012 to clean our chimney and fireplace. During the phone conversation the company asked for our phone number and address. The company then gave a date that they would do the service, which was November 23rd 2012 between 1-5 pm. On the 23rd, we waited until 4:15pm and then decided to give them a call. The representative told us that he gave us a call at 3"15pm and since we didn't answer the phone, his technician would not come out to do any service. I then asked the representative why would you give us a time frame if you were not going to come to the customers house. He said, he wasn't going to send a technician out to our house if we didn't answer the phone. He then asked me to transfer the call over to customer service representative who was also rude with me and told me if I didn't like their company then go somewhere else. That's what customer service gets you today. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Went much better than expected. Call went out to QUALITY C & R and a team showed up the same evening willing to assess the damage and provide the required tarping services. The cost of emergency tarping was high but given the circumstances we understood the effect our demand had had on the cost of supply and as such we complied. Additionally, other companies had already told us we would be on a two week waitlist for tarping. Some never even returned our calls. An estimate from QUALITY R&C for the repairs was comparable to and sometimes cheaper than estimates from other companies. We decided to go with QUALITY C&R and we were pleased with the speed and efficiency with which the repairs were done. The work also came with a three (3) year guarantee. What more can we ask for? Our contact guy ERIK J. was very professional in his relations with us and allayed our fears when we were becoming impatient as a result of the impending threat of rain. All in all we were very satisfied with the quality and timeliness of the work done.

We gave Quality Construction a $2000 deposit on May 3, 2012, and did not hear from them in 3 weeks. They called yesterday, and said they were going to charge us another $3000. I had a signed contract, and they cashed our check 3 weeks ago. We haven't heard from them in 3 weeks. What's up? They seem very shady, and I wouldn't recommend them. I would grade them a Big F, or maybe an F Plus! They said they were a family owned company. I am really worried about getting my money back.
