Not good made appointment at the time didn’t have date of purchase but it is less then a yr. The person I spoke to said have information for tech when he came out. I called date before appointment and the just canceled because they said they didn’t have purchased date. You would think if they needed so bad they would of called me and not cancel me. Incompetent and rude.

We hired the company to come and fix our broiler they sent out three different technicians on nine different occasions. One technician broke the PC was trying to install, one technician didn't know what to do, one technician didn't have the right equipment one technician said he fixed it and didn't and had to come back after 9 visits the broiler is still not fixed even after they left and they said they fixed it. I simply wanted my money back so I could hire a competent technician and the company refused.

Very disappointed in the quality of the 8000 but air conditioner. I have used GE for more than 30 years and this is the first time that the GE model sold at this store was an extremely poor design and quality unit. I bought locally and did not examine the unit closely thinking a local store would only sell the best quality.

I hired a professional service company to install a part on my Northland refrigerator and they installed a generic part. You would think they would utilize parts for the unit specifically made for the unit. Northland was surprised to hear that a service provider approved by them would not utilize approved parts. At least, if aftermarket parts were going to be used they should make sure they work and customers should be notified that generic parts would be used. Service tech installed the wrong part promptly but the customer service concerning this issue is horrible. I would NEVER recommend this company for appliance service or for anything else!
Description of Work: I hired Jersey Coast Appliance to service my Northland 42" Built in refrigerator because they are an approved Northland/Marvel/AGA service provider. I requested that they install a new defrost timer in the unit which they installed. Unfortunately, the timer they installed was a generic timer that Northland said was the WRONG timer for my unit, thus not fixing the defrost issue I was having. I had another service company install the correct timer and problem solved. I requested a refund for the work provided by Jersey Coast and was told "a timer is a timer" and no refunds will be issued.

Description of Work: I called for two things. |1) Microwave only cooks on high setting. He tested it and found that to be an accurate assessment. He would have to look up the cost for a new control panel. Cost was greater than buying a new one. | |2) Periodically there is a gas smell from the gas oven. Again he tested it and put a device on the igniter and found it to be working within specified parameters. He asked that we document continued use so we can see if there is a pattern to when we get the smell of gas. The cost of the call will be deducted from future work.

I called to make an appointment to have my dryer fixed. They were unable to give me an appointment during the week because I was told they can't give windows of time. They put all the address of their appointments into the computer the day before and that's how they generate their appointment times. So basically if you work and can't be home all day to wait for them you are out of luck. When I asked the woman (who was extremely rude) if she could request an appointment time towards the end of the day she repeatedly said no. I outright asked her if she was unwilling to work with me to schedule an appointment window towards the end of the day, and she said she could not. Not very good customer service! I found another vendor on Angies List who could come out within a day and was very accommodating to the needs of someone who works. Would never use Jersey Appliance or suggest them to anyone. Their customer service is horrible!

One of the burners on my cook top went out so it had to be replaced. While putting the cook top back on after replacing the burner they broke the O-ring and scratched the stainless steel top of the cook top. I called them to let them know about it and received a call back from the service manager. They said because of the age of the appliance and that their man did not scratch it they would not replace it. I ended up getting the new cook top directly through Electrolux. The new technician that came to replace the O-ring looked at the cook top he said he thought the first technician had scratched it. They've been back twice to replace the O-ring but have brought the wrong size both times. If I had an extended warranty with them I would've cancelled it. It's now been almost 3 weeks since the last time I heard anything about replacing the O-ring.

We recently had Jersey Coast Appliance to our home for a stove repair that was still covered under the manufacturers warranty. They were the 2nd company sent by the manufacturer. The technician was prompt, listened to the issue we were having and recommended replacing the gas valve. This was the 4th part replaced on this oven range. When this repair did not solve our issue, Jersey Coast worked with us and the manufacturer to resolve the issue. They answered all of our questions and provided us with all the information we needed to resolve the situation. Could not recommend Jersey Coast Appliance more highly.

The following is a copy the letter that I submitted to their website customer service the day after the attempted service repair. It has been 9 days and I haven't received any type of response. Unfortunately, the offer that I made near the end of it, to apply the money spent on the part that I paid for (which did not fix my dishwasher) towards a new one, from their store is no longer on the table. In the frustration of waiting to hear anything back from them (after 7 days), forced us to go out and purchase a new one for another $729+tax. I simply cannot recommend a service company that does not stand behind their guarantee, regardless of how well their technician treated us as his customer. Should an attempt be made on the part of Jersey Coast Appliance to somehow rectify the situation, I will very happily provide a follow up review stating so to Angie's List. Here is the letter: Dear Jersey Coast Appliance, On Monday of this week(1/21/13), a technician was sent to our home for service on our dishwasher. He was prompt, courteous, friendly and professional. During the course of trying to diagnose the problem, he discussed with me that what he thought was the culprit would not be cost conducive to have repaired. When he told me of the labor involved, I agreed that if that was the case, we would simply replace the dishwasher. The only way to know turned out to be replacing a burned fuse. When he did, he said I think that this fuse probably damaged the mother board, but maybe not. If it is still not working properly don’t worry, the part and labor are under our guarantee and warrantee. When I called the very next day (1/22/13) to report that the dishwasher was still not working properly, the person answering the phone disclosed that the $263.00 unsuccessful repair from the day before was our loss financially. She said that she could send the tech back on Thursday or Friday of this week again, at our expense. At this point, I still have a broken dishwasher and have paid $263 for nothing. I would like to replace the entire dishwasher as the tech had recommended when he was working. He made it seem as if I would still have that option. I would happily purchase the dishwasher from your store if you were willing to give me a credit for the amount already spent minus the “trip charge” of $99.95. In this day and age of unlimited consumer options, I would think that satisfying your customers is of utmost importance. I chose your service because of a recommendation from another company and because of the reviews that I read on the Internet. I do not wish to have to write a negative Angie’s List review after having such a positive experience with your technician. Please feel free to call our home at 732-785-0009 or reply via email. Description of Work: Our dishwasher had been acting very sporadic; sometimes running for only a few minutes, other times running a full cycle. I looked online for a repairman and was recommended to Jersey Coast Appliance (Toms River, NJ) by another very reputable service provider in the area because of the brand of dishwasher that we owned. He believed they were the best option to repair my model/year Kenmore (LG model) product. A very prompt ,friendly, courteous and efficient repairman came to repair our Kenmore (LG Brand) dishwasher. He determined that a fuse had burned out which he could replace, but warned that it may have done more damage to the "mother circuit board." He said the only way to know is to replace the fuse and attempt run the dishwasher. He also repeated several times that all of their work was guaranteed (30 days) and there was a warranty on the part (90 days) as well. He was here for a total of an hour and a half. He diagnosed and replaced the fuse, ran the dishwasher, watched and waited for about 10 mins. to see if the part corrected the problem. At the time, it seemed as if it had, but the next morning it started working sporadically again. I followed his advice and called Jersey Coast Appliance again to report my problem which is really where the negative aspect of my review begins.

After our first testimonial about Jersey Coast Appliance we received a phone call from their owner. They assured us that is not the way they conduct business and wanted to make things right. They offered to replace the water valve on our refrigerator absolutely free! Marc (who also was our first technician) was prompt and friendly as usual. He once again was very informative. It took marck about an hour to fix the problem, he wrote up the invoice, and as promised the parts and labor were free of charge. We feel that Jersey Coast Appliance went above and beyond to satisfy us as consumers.

We had a warranty repair of our electric cooktop. We called Jersey Coast since they are an authorized dealer. They came out and troubleshooted it and said we would need a totally new cooktop and that they would order it. A month or so went by with no word from them on the status. When we called they said it had not come in yet. Waited another 3 weeks and called. They said that we were just getting a new heating element and not a complete cooktop, and that the part wasn't in. Finally they called saying the part was in and scheduled a time to install it. When they came, they discovered that it was the wrong part. So they ordered a new part and finally scheduled the repair. However, the repairman came and said that he couldn't do it because it required another person to lift the cooktop. From start to finish, it has been 4 months. Don't see how they stay in business. We've called KitchenAid and have arranged for a new dealer/service and have it done as a warranty repair.

It is truly unfortunate that the members had to wait for such a long time to have one burner repaired on their cook top. However, their post is not entirely accurate. Jersey Coast Appliance is an authorized service company for Kitchen Aid but we do not have the authority to offer a replacement cook top. During this time period, Kitchen Aid (Whirlpool) has had difficulty supplying parts to their service network. Unfortunately this was one of those parts. It was not the fault of Jersey Coast Appliance. It is fair to say that the cook top is a special downdraft cook top with not only electric but venting for the downdraft to be disconnected. In keeping with company policy, our technician felt that a one man removal may cause damage to the customers counter top and cabinets, and rescheduled the call for when he could have a second man to help with the removal. Jersey Coast Appliance apologizes to the Combs for their inconvenience and accepts part of the blame for that. However, Jersey Coast Appliance has been in business since 1981 providing fast and professional service to our customers. We are proud to be the only Certified Service Center in Monmouth and Ocean Counties and our technicians are all Certified Master Technicians. We hope that the Combs will have a speedy resolution to this issue.
