So my mom hired a company to come and take care of the lawn today. This company, DTC Lawns, came to the house to look at the job. The grass was very high and there were a lot of weeds. You see, my father used to take care of the lawn, and since he passed it’s kind of not been a priority. So this person, Christopher Cannizzaro, came by and said he could do the whole property for $325. My mom thought that was fair, so she told him to go ahead. He then instructed her to go pick up any sticks in the yard so he didn’t damage his equipment. I would’ve stopped right there, but mom went ahead and complied with his request. He proceeded to use a push mower on an acre and a half property, with no bag attached! Grass clippings flying everywhere. We have septic here, so there are white caps that stick up out of the ground. She showed him where each one was and he assured her he would remember. Well, he hit one, splintering sharp plastic all over my yard. He neglected to tell anyone that he hit it. He then got his weed whacker and chopped down one of my gardens, including a beautiful blooming rose bush. He did not clear the area along the pool fence because he “would have used up all of his weed whacker supplies”! Then he said he blew the grass clippings away. He blew them around the perimeter of the yard, up against the fence and into my gardens! When mom tried to talk to him later, he took a snarky attitude with her. I then took the phone and had to fight just to be able to speak. When I was done he called me a ***** and hung up on me! Do not use this company!

Just paid $325 for this. The "lawn service" couldn't trim near the pool yard fence because he "would have used up his trim line". Well he couldn't get to the fence because he sent the clippings toward it and buried the fence. He also refused to pick any sticks that we're in the yards, I had to do that, and there were a lot of them. He killed one of Faythe's gardens and my rose bush. He also destroyed one of the white caps for the septic system and conveniently neglected to tell me - after I pointed out all the caps and said to watch out for them, my late husband (I lost him in September) and grandson hit them before. When I questioned him about the weeds along the fence he said to let them die then either take and bag them myself or call him and he will do it (of course for another charge). Since they were never cut, I doubt they are going to die. He was supposed to be the professional yet he placed the blame of letting the yard get so overgrown on us. He was here for 2 hours and rushed away because he had other jobs to do. I called while I was upset and spoke with his wife, who seems like a very good person (she has my sympathies) and she assured me that she would speak with him about this. I sent pictures of the property to the company email which prompted him to call me back, Faythe saw that I was being too nice, so she took the phone and gave him an earful. After their exchange, he called her a ***** and hung up on her. I will never call DTC LAWNS ever again. I guess that's what happens when you trust a neighbor.
