+ -1 moreI am currently working with the Department of Consumer Affairs... BUYER BEWARE. He refused all along to provide a current certificate of insurance, either liability or workers comp for his employees. I did a name search on him, and he has tax liens against him in Ocean County NJ. UPDATE: The Ocean County NJ Department of Consumer Affairs has been steadily working with me. Mr. Jacovino offered to refund 50% of my deposit, but that is unacceptable to me, as he never did any work. He has now agreed to refund my full deposit, and we are now waiting for it to arrive in the mail. This is October, and I tendered my deposit in February, 2007. The office of Consumer Affairs has been quite helpful, and I doubt I would have been this successful, had it not been for their help.
Description of Work: On Feb 18, 2007, Mr. Jacovino came to my home, and presented an estimate to tear off two old roofs, and install a new one. I gave him a deposit for $2,300. and Mr. Jacovino wrote on the contract that the work would be finished by the third week of March. March came and went. So did April. May, too. Mr.Jacovino wasn't returning my phone calls. Finally, the first week of June, I was able to get ahold of Mr. Jacovino. He told me that he would phone me later in the week, and bring roof samples by so that I could choose a color. That week passed, and no word. Finally, the thrid week of June, I sent Mr.Jacovino a registered letter requesting my deposit be returned. To no avail. I have since contacted the Consumer Board of Affairs, and they are currently trying to help me. This is now September. He has no concience and no remorse about defrauding trusting customers. He has my money, and I have no new roof. BUYER BEWARE.
