They fit our job in on short notice and were very professional about it.

Done when promised and passed inspection without problems.

They checked everything and stated that the liners and chimney cap will not be enough as we have deteriorated fire boxes which will cost a lot more to replace than we expected. They gave good advice and didn't charge for the visit.

The crew worked hard all day to take down my old deteriorating chimney and rebuild a new one, making sure to match the new bricks with the color of my old ones. I couldn't have asked for a more polite professional crew. They were great to work with. They also put a new cap on. Mr Jameson always responded quickly to any phone calls.

Called to set up appt. Told them I wanted someone to look at chimney, leaks when raining heavy. Someone called later that day but said the office was closed and someone would call me the next day. No one ever called me.

Our tenants informed us that they were without heat. When we went to check we realized that one of the gas-heating unit was out and would not relight. We immediately called the plumber who, on Monday night, informed us that there was no problem with the unit and the cause was probably a blockage in the chimney. On Tuesday we were going to have polar temperatures and I was really worried about the tenants welfare, so in spite of the late hour, I placed an emergency call to Mark Jameson and they promised to be there the next morning. By the time they arrived the next morning, the other heating unit had shut off too and when they opened up the chimney it was totally collapsed and needed to be rebuilt and relined from top to bottom (5 floors). They gave me what I thought it was a reasonable estimate and upon my approval they performed the job. By that evening they had completed the work and the heat was working in all the apartments. I was extremely pleased with the service and the work. They left a bit of a mess on the floors, which was totally understandable considering the urgency of restarting the heat asap in all the rented units and the fact that they had to constantly go in and out of the house with snow and ice on the ground and had to go on the roof which was also covered with snow. I was very thankful for their promptness and thrilled to have the heat back for my tenants in such a short time in spite of major damage to the chimney.

The company that I chose to use was local, and could provide me with many local references within my neighborhood. Mark Jameson have excellent customer service, clean workman, very knowledgeable, explained in detail what they saw, and made suggestions although they were there just to clean the chimney.

Seals well enough to keep out any air from coming down chimney,but because of old one being cut out of metal firebox,some cold air still radiates into fireplace and out into rec room during really cold weather. New damper is spring loaded which makes it difficult for my girlfriend to close. Also they kept cancelling appointments stating they had emergency calls they had to handle first. Finally came on 4th or 5th appointment. Did show up in scheduled time window, did work in about one hour, and left work area in clean condition. This was the most efficient way to do the repairs because of the way the fireplace was built and to replace everything would have been cost prohibitive plus not feasible because of the stone work on the fireplace which is a hard to find lava rock. Biggest negative was the numerous cancellations.

the servicemen were polite, punctual and efficient. Upon inspection of my chimney, the technician noticed that my furnace was directly vented to my chimney stack. This is a problem as carbon monoxide could enter my living room due to a chimney downdraft. The technician explained the safety hazard thoroughly and said it could be remedied by inserting a separate stainless steel flue in my chimney that connected to the furnace exhaust...keeping fireplace exhaust separate from the furnace exhaust and eliminating the possibility of carbon monoxide migration back into my living room. The work was down within a few days of the initial inspection. The technicians were neat, fast and efficient.

Contractor came and finished on the day and time he promised. He matched the brick on the replaced chimney to the two fireplace chimneys. His workmanship was of high quality and he cleaned up after he was finished. He was very personable and was proud of his work as he should be.. Overall, he did an outstanding job and I was very pleased .

Very experienced and know their stuff. Felt very comfortable having a discussion on our dwelling's flue status knowing they do minor and major repair work in older homes. Their recommendations are based on experience, and it was clear they put the customer first -- not the need for them to book more business.

They were responsive and friendly on the phone, came early in the 4-hour service window they had provided, and called when they were on the way. The work was completed neatly and efficiently. They didn't push for additional work. The firebox was found to be sound; the repairs were deemed to be cosmetic. So I got an estimate for that work should I choose to do it later.

Mark Jameson Contractors was just that. Diligent, honest and thorough. Although they were not able to perform the work that we needed done, they did what they could and recommended next steps. Thank you Angie's list!

We spoke on the phone several times, and he was incredibly nice on the phone. They ultimately, however, never showed up for the appointment.

I was extremely pleased with the service and the work performed. Within 30 minutes of my initial call on Sunday morning, someone returned my call. A short time later Mr. Jameson arrived and inspected the chimney. He reported to me the situation. The old pieced liner had deteriorated and collapsed. The mortar between the bricks had been eroded. He gave me a quote for the repair and was able to perform the work that day. By mid afternoon the work was completed, and the heater was working. I was thrilled!

A couple of years ago, (though the actual date is very approximate) i noticed that our chimney was crumbling. i called Mark Jameson and he responded promptly. Before I could blink, I was given an estimate for the fix of the chimney but I was also told that my chimney liner was in need of replacing to the tune of $5800. I was scared into signing the contract ie: told that the house could catch fire. Sorry to say i did not get another opinion or estimate. The next day the job was done but i did not know if they really did the chimney liner. i guess they did but what do i know? All in all it took only a few hours. Years later an inspector from the town showed up at my door and asked to see the job. apparently the permit was 'open' and the job was never inspected. i wondered how they got the permit so fast the next day, though i never saw one when they were doing the job so i suspect they were working without one.... I have moved since and just got a new chimney liner in my new house and it only cost me 1800. So there you go, I feel ripped off years later. i can't imagine that the chimney repair was thousands of dollars to make up the difference. I think overall they saw a woman and they went for it......
