Well. The floors look great, exactly as Ken said it would be. First, the sanding and clean up was as good as you can hope. Very little dust. Second, the color of the stain was exactly as described. Third, the floors look almost new but with the old charm. We will use Bantry again.

He did the job very well. He often came back to check what the workers were doing. He was around and didn?t just drop anything. He advised us against one color and he was right about it.

We chose Bantry because the owner, Ken, throughly answered my questions and was very professional. Ken returned all phone calls promptly, was very accommodating, and made the whole process as painless as possible. We are glad we went with Bantry! My husband and I are so pleased with the floors. They look absolutely amazing! People who saw our worn, scuffed up floors before Bantry refinished them were astonished by the results. The floors make the house look so updated, clean, and warm. I would highly recommend Bantry and would use them again!

It went great. They were very friendly and very professional. They were very knowledgeable. They did what they said they were going to do and they came on time. They are a very great company. The owner has a great Irish accent. I compared their prices. The work turned out very good. I would absolutely use them again.

Ken and his assistant were terrific. I am very happy with the results. The job turned out to be much more complicated than Ken thought but he did not complain and kept to his initial estimate. They were both so helpful and willing to go beyond the call of duty. Ken takes pride in his work and is not satisfied if the work is not up to his standards. He goes the extra mile.

Ken returned all calls promptly. An appointment for the estimate was scheduled quickly and quote provided within a day. Job date was scheduled within a few weeks. Crew arrived on time as scheduled. Work was performed as described to my satisfaction within two days. I would use Bantry again for future jobs.

Prior to purchasing my home, I contacted Ken and he graciously agreed to remove the carpet in my home and refinish the hardwood floors upon close. With all of the expenses that occurred after the close, I decided to let a friend of the family refinish the floors who swore he's done them millions of times before. One word, disaster! I called Ken in a panic. He rushed over to my house and told me the situation was pretty bad and that the guy had doubled his work. But, he told me not to worry, he could fix it. I took a look at my newly refinished wood floors yesterday and wow! Ken did an amazing job. I actually just couldn't stop staring for about 20 minutes. I highly recommend Ken's team. He's professional and very neat. He and his team cleaned up after themselves so nicely. He even replaced quite a few of the wood panels that were damaged!

We have a wood floor that was damaged by fire. We called three companies for estimates. Two of the three wanted to refinish the entire room for around $1500. Bantry offered to repair just the area that had been damaged, maybe 4 ft by 4 ft. Since the rest of the floor is in good condition, we decided to give Bantry a shot. Ken and his helper arrived on time, and his helper worked over three hours to repair the damage. The result is amazing. While the area that was repaired is noticeable, only someone who knew that damage had occurred would ever notice it. I cannot express my pleasure in saving around $1200 thanks to Bantry.

Ken?s team is a fine group of exceptional craftsmen who are as professional, personable and meticulous as he is. I totally love the job they did and will be calling them back within a month or so to install a hardwood floor in the bedroom.

Ken was very prompt and friendly and we are very pleased with the results. We would highly recommend using this service. The price seemed very reasonable for the work performed. My only negative comment is that Ken was unable to find a source for a very unique wood inlay to support some of the repairs made. If you have similar unique requirements, you may want to go directly to a wood shop to get the pieces you need. Other than that, a great overall experience.

Bantry Floors was terrific. Carpet had been down for over 14 years and yet the floor now looks brand new. There were black marks on the dining room floor that are completely gone. Ken was able to accommodate my small home by moving the living room furniture into the dining room and doing the living room, and then moving the furniture into the living room to do the dining room. He suggested a water base finish which dried quickly and didn't smell. He even replaced a few pieces of wood at no additional charge. I had heard such horror stories about dust when floors are redone, but I think my house was cleaner when they left than it was before. Ken and his workers did a terrific job - my floors look beautiful.

Best price, prompt and timely following up. His people forgot to do a small section due to protective paper hiding the area. They immediately took action to resolve it.

I found them through an advertisement. The work went very well. The person who we dealt with did exactly what he said he was going to do. We had to remove the boards and it looked like there was a Christmas tree stand that made a big ring in the corner of the room. So he just pulled those boards out and replaced them for a very minor charge. He explained everything well and told us what our options were. It is not an easy thing to have your floors done when you are living in the house since we have a dog and we had to stay out of the house. So he had a water based procedure done rather than oil since it would have taken us longer time to stay out of the house. Everything came out nicely. He kept in contact with us. There was a closet that was hidden by having kept the door open. We called him the next day to inform that he had missed out the floor and the closet. So he sanded it out and came back the next day and put on whatever was needed to fix it. It was good that he addressed that little problem that we had right away. It was a very good experience. I will definitely use his services again in the future. Everything was fine and the price was right in the middle when compared to others. I had a bunch of other floor companies who had come out, but we didn?t go with any of them since their prices were outrageous.

A roughly 12x6 foot area of hardwood parquet flooring in our condominium had been covered by standing water when a radiator burst; the floor was buckled and discolored and had come loose from the concrete subfloor. Ken visited the apartment to examine the area and prepare an estimate, which he delivered by email. He advised us that e would find the best match he could for the original floor, but that the new tiles would necessarily not match the old, worn floor that surrounded them. We realized this but decided to go ahead with the partial replacement for now, to provide the least interruption for our renting tenant. We scheduled the repair via telephone. Ken and an assistant arrived promptly at the scheduled time and repaired the damaged area beautifully in a couple of hours. The repaired floor is indeed a close match to the non-worn areas of the surrounding floor. If in future we decide to replace the remaining floor, we will definitely go with Ken.

Absolutely positive experience all around. We purchased a home that needed most of the floors either refinished or replaced. We needed old carpeting removed from 3 rooms, refinishing of the hard wood floors underneath,and new flooring put down in another room. Ken came over and gave a detailed estimate including several different flooring options. Bantry Floors was not the lowest estimate, but I hired Ken for his overall knowledge and professionalism. It was a great decision. The floors are absolutely gorgeous. We had not yet moved in, so the house is empty for all the tradesmen. I gave Ken a key and expected him to start on a Monday, but to my surprise, they went into the house over the weekend and got a huge head start by removing the carpet and sanding the floors. After the carpets were removed, it was discovered that even though the rooms had hard wood, some of the closets had nothing but plywood. Ken stripped out the plywood and laid new flooring and matched it exactly to the rooms. For the one room where we needed new floors laid, Ken showed my my options between engineered, bamboo and laminate. We chose the engineered flooring on Ken's recommendation, and it looks fantastic. This was a great job all around. They worked hard, efficiently, they kept the dust to a minimum, and completed our job one day early. Ken is a real professional and takes great pride in his work. We love our floors. Highly recommended.

We did not use this company even though they were very nice and very professional. It came down to price for us.

The work went very smoothly. Ken and his team arrived on time each day and worked non-stop. The floors are beautiful. The transition from existing wood to the new wood is seamless. The holes left by the wall-to-wall carpeting strips are almost non-existent. The sanding removed all the stains and the floors look like new. Ken was professional and easy to work with.

The floors were old and we had to apply polyurethane on it and resurface and restain it. They were prompt and came out on time. They only quoted two coats of polyurethane when most companies quote three. It was a big negative. I wanted the stair risers and the stair treads resurfaced as well. They wouldn't do the risers, but would only do the treads. I wanted both of them done as both were part of the stairs. These were the reasons for me not to go with them. The company that I eventually worked with did the entire stairs that included the risers and the treads.

On the day of the job he and his workers showed up right on time and quickly started taping up for dust control. They sanded a small portion of the floor and we tried out sample colors. I selected one and left them to do their work for the day. I returned that afternoon and the floors looked brand new. The transformation was amazing. In subsequent days they applied the finish coats. I am amazed at how great they turned out, have I mentioned they look fantastic (ha ha)? Ken's prices were in line with my budget, he's not the cheapest out there but he is certainly not the most expensive. He ended up replacing some damaged boards at no additional charge and his personality is easy and pleasant to work with. I highly recommend using this company for the quality of work and ease of working with Ken.

I was perfectly satisfied with them. He seemed to know what he was doing. He had some good ideas and he explained things.

He gave me the estimate on a Tuesday, began work on Thursday and the floors were sanded, stained and finished in a week. Because of my tight move in schedule, Ken worked over the weekend to get the work done on time.

We originally hired Bantry for the re-coating of the existing floors in a house that we had just purchased. We decided to change the carpet to hardwood before moving in, and Ken gave us smart advice on the type of wood and made wise suggestions as to what colors would work best for each area when we were indecisive. The work was completed on time and the floors turned out beautifully!

Every step of the way went smoothly, on schedule, and exactly as described. There were times when I had trouble making decisions - which color stain to choose, how to deal with the extremely damaged risers. Each time I took Ken's advice, and the results are beautiful.
