First, I would like to say I’m so happy I found this company when I did as I just bought a new home that needed a lot of work and updating. It started with replacing my old furnace and hvac system to doing all my repairs and appliances once I realized all they were capable of. Any time I have called Long Lane I’m impressed with the honesty and customer service rather than the other 3 companies that were trying to sell me on things I didn’t need. Highly recommend if anyone is looking for an experienced company for all their repairs and appliances! My family and I will always be calling them first for all of our households!

They came out the same day and fixed my AC and it worked better than before. Couple weeks later my refrigerator was warm same day service and went back to the shop and fixed it also in the same day. They are an excellent company to have to work for you. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Long Lane for your expertise in everything. Long Lane rocks. Great techs they know what they are doing always.

Do not use this company! They installed a new Hvac system via my home warranty company. I paid 2K plus out of pocket. Installation was January 2022 and so far its been serviced 3 times. Once for faulty wiring, second time for leaky refrigerant, for malfunction. There is no way a brand new system needs to be serviced this many times. I am convinced they just come out to break something else as they service the unit to milk the home warranty company. The people at dispatch are rude and complete asholes on the phone. The owner is even worse. I repeat Do not use them!!!

Honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. They don’t call to schedule appointments, when you call to confirm they are coming they say they will be there between 9-6 and then show up after. They had me wait for service for a back ordered part that ended up having nothing to do with the underlying problem. They then ordered the wrong part and installed it anyway. They came to my home 6 times to service my refrigerator/freezer over a period of 3 months. My refrigerator/freezer is still broken. On top of all of this, they have the most rude and condescending staff. The older Man named Bill was the most unprofessional person I’ve ever interfaced with. Avoid this company at all costs.

I used Longlane in mid-2021 to replace and ice maker in my refrigerator. It cost well over $300. 18 months later it stopped working. I called and spoke with one of the owners. I said I knew it was out of warranty but maybe we could work something out, maybe slash something off the service call? He was obstinate. I understand I'd have to be charged but the ice-maker should have lasted longer than 18 months. Try to work and compromise to make it right. No need to be obstinate and rude. I would avoid this company.

The worst customer service I've had in my life. We were told we were on the schedule for a Monday anywhere from 10am to 6pm. We called 3 times during the day to see if they had an update of when we would be serviced and were told each time that it would be before 6pm. At 5:30pm we called and the manager said we were never on the schedule bc the part wasn't even in yet! His response was "they had a lot of jobs in Delaware that day." When we asked that we be put on the schedule ASAP when the part came in since it was their mistake, the manager said that's not how it works! They repeatedly did not communicate with us when the part was coming in so we had to keep calling to confirm so that we could make arrangements for our family since we couldn't have a 2 year old sleeping in a 92 degree house. When I called to check if the part had arrived the receptionist said they would call when it arrived. I said we were supposed to be on the schedule for the next day according to one of their employees so they should have called by now to confirm this as it was 6pm the night before. She didn't even ask for my address to confirm this so I asked to speak with the manager who said "Why do I need to talk to you if I already talked to your husband?" Anthony repeatedly interrupted me when I tried speaking and he put me on hold instead of listening to me then proceeded to tell me he was the one in charge of scheduling and was making sure we weren't the first appointment of the day. (We ended up being the very last scheduled appointment fyi) Hard to believe it wasn't out of spite. I asked to speak to his boss and he refused to give me a name or contact for him. I said I would be leaving bad reviews and he said he would not do the work on our AC unit if I did even though Long Lane was contracted out through our home warranty. I repeated that I wanted to speak to his boss to let his boss know that his manager was incompetent when it came to customer service and he kept saying make sure you put that in the review as if I was wrong to say that with all the bad service that I had received. In addition the first time the tech came out to look at our unit he did not want to talk to me and my husband had to call to ask him what was going on with the unit after he left as he did not give me any information. Our AC unit is working now so atleast the tech knew what he was doing.

The company called me to schedule a visit and dispatched a technician who showing up exactly when they said they would. He quickly assessed the problem (stripped gears in a garage door opener) and ordered a replacement. He installed the new opener quickly and with no mess. He even lubed rollers on the garage door which now worked better than it has is years. Great work, polite clean technicians. I would definitely use them again

Long Lane Home Services were referred by my home warranty company. The first company referred had a terrible rating and I asked for reassignment. I'm glad I did. Long Lane did give me a wide appointment window (10:30 am to 6:00 pm) but this is completely understandable considering they don't know what each job they have that day will entail. The technician did call to let me know when he was on his way. He was polite, knowledgeable and professional. He diagnosed and fixed the problem within a half hour. Dryer is now running perfectly. I would not hesitate to use Long Lane again. I paid a flat deductible so I can't comment on their regular charges.

The first problem is that Long Lane does not offer appointments for their home warranty work. They only schedule a certain date and expect you to be available, at home, the whole day. They will, after arguing with them, agree to give a call, 30 minutes in advance, when the technician is on his way to your house. The first call was for my dishwasher not cleaning as it should. The technician came out and quickly diagnosed that we were using an incorrect dishwasher soap (we were using Finish - a completely unknown brand). After some arguing, he agreed to look in the machine, poked around for two minutes and concluded that it was working great. He suggested washing the machine out with vinegar, after he left. We followed his instructions, and of course the dishes still came out dirty. When I called the Home Warranty Company, they told me that Long Lane had reported that they fixed the problem completely and to my satisfaction. After intensive searching on the internet, I found various suggestions on how to resolve the problem and various things that could be causing the problem. A bit of DIY work and I found some broken glass in the Dishwasher water drain. If only the technician had bothered to check... The Second call was to replace the refrigerator ice maker. I waited all day for the Tech and he did not arrive. When I called the office, they claimed they had phone problems and could not notify me that he would not be arriving. After arguments, Long Lane agreed to schedule a 4 hour window, on a Saturday morning, to come fix the problem. Surprisingly, they did not arrive, blaming the weather. On attempt #3 they arrived and diagnosed that the ice maker needs to be replaced. It took two months for them to get the part and coordinate a date to install it. Of course they did not arrive, yet again, on the date they had coordinated as "all the technicians were requested to come to the office for a meeting". When asked why they did not notify their Clients, they responded that "the phones had not been working". When I complained this was not acceptable, one of their Managers ("Bill") started yelling at me over the phone. He was extremely rude and uncooperative. When they eventually arrived and replaced the ice maker, they left stating that it had to cool down in the fridge and would start producing ice within 24 hours. Of course it never did. At this point, I replaced them with another Company, which later explained that the ice maker had been incorrectly installed. I suggest avoiding this Company at all costs. They are unprofessional, rude and consider themselves to be doing their Customers a favor. I do not know if this treatment is reserved for the Home Warranty Customers only, or for all their Customers. In any case - they try to do as little as possible and come out multiple times for each issue (I can only guess they may be paid more by the Home Warranty, if they do so). You have to stay near your house, the whole day, every time they come. The biggest problem is that they do not fix the appliances, they are supposed to be fixing.
Description of Work: Long Lane was sent by my Home Warranty Company, on two occasions - once to fix my dish washer and once to fix/replace the refrigerator ice maker. In both cases, after multiple delays and wasted time, they failed to fix the problem.

When we bought our house we were under a one year warranty and they came out under that. There was an issue with the guy coming out and not being on time or calling to reschedule. My main frustration was with our little electrical panel; they were a particular light switch and just moves up and down not the normal kind. He had to go out to a hardware store to go buy a light switch and it was different types of switches because the hardware store did not have what we would have. He did not have a plate to go over that. You can see the metal, there is no plate to cover it. He just left the old plate. I found it unacceptable and told him and he said he fixed the issue so it wasn't really his problem since he fixed the issue which is the light flickering. It was under warranty so we were not a typical customer but I thought he would treat us with the same service. I do think it was overpriced. I called the office and let them know I was not happy about it but they did not do anything about it. The guy was not that friendly.

Long Lane was the second plumbing company sent out by my Home Warranty company to look at a problem with my garbage disposal. Because I had missed the recall period for the first company (and besides they were awful) I was happy to get a different company. I called on a Friday afternoon and Long Lane returned the call on Saturday morning. They said they could come out on Saturday and there would be no extra charge to the service fee for a Saturday visit. They didn't give a time but said they would call one-half hour before they came. PLEASE NOTE: The reason for the 4 stars vs 5 is if you miss the call you may lose your appointment and have to reschedule! I missed the call but was able to return it before he moved on to another customer! Just remember to stay near your phone! The individual who showed up was personable and professional. He immediately recognized the garbage disposal needed to be replaced and did so in about 25 minutes. He tested it before he left to be sure it was working accepted the $100 (cash only) and left. I haven't used the disposal yet but it looks fine; however, I won't hesitate to contact them should it not work properly for any reason. I'll use them again if necessary because he seemed to genuinely want to provide good customer service and quality workmanship.

One day after they left, I had water all over my basement floor. They came out two days later and fixed it. I was told the condensate line was clogged and this was normal. One week later, water all over my floor again. They came out and, again, said it was the condensate line. Two weeks later, it happened again. This time they wouldn't come out unless I contacted HSA Home Warranty and put in a new repair ticket. I had to argue with them that this wasn't a "new" repair. They finally sent someone out and it was fixed. A year goes by and I noticed last week that there was some water on my floor. I had a different company come out and they told me there is a leak in the freon line outside and Long Lane never replaced that line when they installed my new unit. The repair is going to cost us upwards of $2,000. I would never recommend this company.

The Long Lane tech was pleasant and turned up on time. He was unable to find model numbers on two of the appliances, which he said would make repairs impossible. We were out the deductible and were looking at expensive replacements. I decided to call a Philadelphia repair service (Fischer) that had good reviews. Fischer came out about a week later, found the model numbers, ordered the parts, and made the repairs. Quite a bargain!
Description of Work: Long Lane is the only approved repair service under the appliance insurance that we got from the seller when we bought the house. The Long Lane tech checked three appliances that were not working properly: washer, oven, refrigerator. There was a $100 deductible, which we paid.

They replaced our circuit board, but never addressed the underlying issue (heater was leaking water). Instead he sealed our PVC pipe to our unit and was told, problem solved. It was leaking severely within 15 min of them leaving. They came back a few times and never could give a proper answer as to the problem or how to fix it. Once we had another company come out they were able to fix it easily and said the pipe should never be permanently sealed to unit. Bottom line, I wasted 4 days off of work waiting on these guys to never really fix our problem at hand. Would not recommend.
