Did not hire this service because of excessive pricing of $42 hour for routine, recurring housecleaning.

I was excited to see there was a woman-owned, insured, bonded, trustworthy, house cleaner in our area, that advertised itself as a not-franchised, local service, that had great reviews. But when I called, I was clearly put through to a call-center, that had little to do with the company. The conversation below is abridged and edited, of course, but this is pretty much how it went: Customer Service (CS): Hello, my name is [xx], how may I help you today? Me: Hi [xx], I'd like to arrange an appointment for someone to come to my house to talk about your service, and give me a quote. CS: OK, I can help you with that. What service were you looking for? Me: ... Uh...House cleaning? CS: OK, let me see if they provide that. ...Uh...Yes, we do. [The "they" and "we" here are not a mistake, this is what xx said.] Are you looking for a one-time cleaning, or a regular service? Me: Well, both. I'd like to have someone come and talk with me about a one-time, deep-clean, and then the possibility of regular cleanings after that. CS: OK, so, I can only give you an estimate for regular cleanings. A one-time cleaning, we'll send the maids ["maids" seriously?] to the house, and you'll get a quote on-site. Me: Well, I'd really like someone to come talk to me about your services, and see our house, so we can get an accurate quote, and then perhaps talk about a regular schedule. CS: Well, ma'am, do you want a one-time cleaning, or a regular service? I can give you an estimate over the phone for regular cleaning, but I can't for one-time cleaning. Me: So, wait. For a one-time cleaning, I get no estimate? They just show up and give me the cost? CS: Yes, ma'am, we send the maids, and once they're there, they can give you a quote. Me: So [xx], nobody knows how much it will cost, for the one-time cleaning, until they're at my house? CS: Yes, ma'am. But if you want to sign up for regular cleanings, I can give you an estimate over the phone. Can you tell me how many rooms you want cleaned? Me: Really, let me get this straight. Your customers sign up for a service, but for the one-time cleaning, they only get an estimate when the "maids" [my quotes, because, seriously?] are there. And then you only give a loose estimate for a regular cleaning, over the phone, based on what I tell you. So, no customer knows what the cost will be for any of these services, until the staff is already on-site? CS: Well, I can give you an estimate for regular cleanings. Do you want to tell me how many rooms you'd like cleaned? Me: ... I'll get back to you. [click] To be honest, based on the stellar reviews of this company, I assume I just happend to stumble upon the worst CS person ever. On the other hand, this company advertises that they are "unlike corporate franchises," and "local," and "trustworthy." Yet they're using a call center that is anything but. The service number on the site, for customer support, is the same I used to inquire about their service. Even if I received the service I originally wanted - just someone from the company to come over, look at our space, and give us an actual quote - I'd be hard pressed to hire them, since it seems the number I would call for general customer questions, going forward, would be the same, abominable, central service number. No, thank you.

the girls that cleaned my house (Sara and Theresa) were phenomenal! They always cleaned my house so well and so thorough. Although it was clear they took their time in each room, they breezed through the house and I barely knew they were here except the sparkle they left behind! The price was spectacular for the services provided. I wish they came to my new house but it's far unfortunately. I would recommend this company to ANYONE!

I was looking for a cleaning service for my house on a monthly basis. I called and somebody picked up, took my information, and then I never heard from them again.

The team at Total Home Cleaners is incredible. They are super responsive, professional and always prompt. The day before they are scheduled to clean, the owner calls and lets us know what time the team will be here. They are always there when they say! The team is so nice. They come in and start right way, and really do a great job. Our place has never been cleaner. They even make our bed which is so nice to come home to.

They do a really good job. Everything is exactly as I asked them to do. I would recommend them. They are very professional.

We were customers for a long time and they do a great job! The ownership is very engaged and responsive, and they were very receptive to any specific requests we had. The owner would actually drop in on the crews to see how they're doing and would ensure any potential issues were resolved with quite a bit of attention to detail. I also like that they would send 3 people and really blitz our house! We were with them for about 5 years and there was only a $5 price increase in that time. We've since moved but would recommend them.

They do a pretty good job, A- overall. The staff is very friendly and they're very thorough. I though it was about $100 more than I expected, but this was also the first time I've had a housecleaner out. I would use them again and recommend them.

They do a good job. 4 women come out and they come out 2 times a month. I am happy their service and they bring their cleaning supplies too.

We've been using them for over a year and we'll likely stay with them. We have them do the whole house and I'd say that their rates are reasonable. A- on their quality. They generally show up in the window of time they give, although it would be nice to have a more precise time. I would recommend them, though.

Three employees came out and there were some troubles with communication. I did pay a lot for their services, since they said it was the first time they were cleaning and it is a big house. They were punctual, on time and they were good with their follow-up though.

At first, the cleanings were fine. But recently, they have been doing a horrible job and are not careful in my home. A few months ago, there was a a large dark spot on my rug that wasn't there before they cleaned (they come when I am not home and it looked like something had been spilled). I called the office repeatedly and nobody ever called me back or addressed my concerns. Two weeks ago, when I returned after a cleaning I found a huge scratch on the 1920s immaculate wood floors, caused when they dragged a plant across the floor instead of picking it up to move it. In addition, I have noticed cobwebs in the corners of rooms, along windows, etc. in recent months, leading me to believe they are not doing a thorough job. I live alone, am very clean and tidy, so there's no excuse for the horrible service, especially when they are charging $120 for a two bedroom, one bath small home. I am switching cleaning companies and having someone else come beginning next week.

The whole process was frustrating, time-consuming and exhausting for me. When I first met the company owner, she seemed poised and professional and made a good impression. We discussed doing the job in 2 stages to accommodate some work that still needed to be done in the kitchen. She gave me a price in writing which I thought was reasonable. But later, she increased it on the contract form I had to sign. Her explanation was that it cost more if her staff had to clean the same area on two different occasions, which made no sense to me at all. Even though I was paying by check, she insisted that I provide a credit card number so that she could charge me a fee for canceling without due notice, failing to be home at the time her people arrived, etc. For instance, 5 days' notice was required to change or cancel an appointment, or else there was a charge levied. I envy those people who can predict their emergencies 5 days in advance. Trying to schedule an appointment was such a hassle-we went back and forth multiple times because she kept filling time slots that she and I had discussed as possibilities. In the end, her staff cleaned the second floor of my house, and it resembled a typical house cleaning, not a "renovation" cleaning, which I expected to be more extensive and thorough. Her staff of 4 were very late in arriving due to broken equipment, came in like an army on the march, and in a whirlwind, finished in just over an hour. After they left, I found areas where the floor was not completely cleaned, waste baskets were not wiped after the garbage was removed, picture frames were not dusted, etc. I did not contact the company for further cleanings.

Total Home cleaning has been cleaning my home for the past 3 years. Overall, the quality of their work is outstanding. I have an older home with multiple children and pets and it is very difficult for me to maintain it looking and smelling clean. Having a home filled with boys is very h****** my bathrooms, especially. But when the girls are here, its a complete transformation. They work hard and over the years they have provided us with outstanding service time and time again. There are times when they have missed little things here and there but one great thing about them is that they will come back and fix the area with a smile. Another thing that I really enjoy about Total home cleaning is that the products they use are safe for my children and my pets. My two youngest boys have really bad allergies and the products used to clean our home have never given them a bad reaction. If I had to say anything negative it would be that they are a bit expensive. But honestly, overall they are worth it. When the girls get here I know that my home is secure in their hands.

I trust Total Home Cleaning. At first they did a deep clean and then they came regularly. They'll tell you what they're going to do and if you have something specific you want them to do they'll do that. Usually it's the same cleaners that come in every week so they know what you want. It brings the price down if they come more frequently.

Total Home Cleaning provided the first cleaning adequately, but failed to clean my finished basement. My basement is the entire length of my home and it comprises a large proportion of the sq. footage they were hired to clean. I called to complain and was told that the girls would be reminded to clean the basement moving forward. The second cleaning was performed on May 15th. For the second time, the girls failed to clean the finished basement. More upsetting than that, however, is the fact that they put something on my travertine marble countertop that caused a large white stain. I immediately called to complain, and I took a picture of the stain and sent it to the company. The following morning, I received a call from Raquel, who was apologetic and indicated the girls would come out right away to finish the clean and to take care of the counter by using a special "polisher". I explained that we had to go out of town for a funeral and would only be home until 11am. Raquel stated that they would come and be finished before 11am. They did not come. Several hours later I received a voicemail that they'd come today (Monday) morning between 8:45 am - 9:30 am to clean the basement and "address the countertop". The girls arrived this AM and cleaned the basement. They had no knowledge of the counter and said no one in the office told them to clean it. I called the office and was told I'd receive a call back "later". Ines called back and stated that she would have her "contact in the stone industry" come and repair the counter, but that I'd have to pay him and then she'd reimburse me by offering discounted future cleaning. Obviously, I rejected this offer, and I never intend to use them again. She said that was good, and she wanted to talk to me about my negative Yelp review, which she felt was unfair. My review was neither unfair nor inaccurate. Her scheduling department is a mess, and her service is sub-par and resulted in my countertop being ruined! I have stopped payment on my check, I have reported this company to the Better Business Bureau and I am posting this review here in the hopes that someone will learn from my mistake and will not have the same horrible experience that I have had. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! UPDATE: As noted above, I had to stop payment on my check because Total Home Cleaning did significant damage to my travertine marble kitchen counter, and refused to reimburse me for repair. Ines was well aware that I would be stopping payment on the check, as I told her I intended to do so, and would then send her a bill for the repair to the counter. Should she choose not to pay for the repair, I intend to bring legal action against Total Home Cleaning to recoup my funds. Again, this information was all clearly communicated to Ines. On June 6, 2013, Total Home Cleaning charged my credit card for the amount of the cleaning, which resulted in significant damage to my home. This charge was fraudulently made to the card that I was required to provide to the company to secure my initial appointment. Total Home Cleaning was NEVER authorized to charge any amount to my card, and has thus illegally utilized my credit card number, a fact which was immediately reported to Bank of America. BoA, in turn, has reimbursed me in the full amount, and has had me complete and sign an affidavit of fraud against this company. BoA has indicated that they will now work vigorously to recoup the funds from THC, and will pursue their own legal action, if need be. This disgusting, disgraceful, underhanded behavior speaks volumes about Ines' character, and I caution anyone interested in Total Home Cleaning to think long and hard before allowing this woman, or anyone associated with her into their home.

I called Total Home Cleaning last year to come in and clean my home on a bi weekly basis because my job was getting out of control, and I also have two kids and a dog. My house had not been cleaned for a month. From start to finish the process at THC was professional. My house was spotless, they called me before they came and were on time. The staff even dealt with my dog who is afraid of vacuums. I almost hugged the cleaning staff when they left the first time, I was thrilled. My mother even noted how clean my stove was. I would use this company in a heartbeat.

They weren’t consistent with their cleaning, and there was lack of attention to detail. Also, their staffing wasn’t consistent; sometimes they would send a crew of two, and sometimes they would send four. Overall, I wasn’t happen their service.
