Scotty Tree Experts

Scotty and his team came bright and early and took down our trees without a crane. I was worried that they didn’t have a crane but I actually think it was actually a much better way to do it. He came with about 8-9 guys and started working very efficiently. They wrapped up around 12:30. They took down all the trees and even ground all of stumps. Most quotes I had were double the price and said they’d take two days. I was fascinated watching them the entire time. Every aspect of the process was very interesting. They then cleaned up the entire lawn of leaves, tree debris, etc. They left the lawn cleaner than it was to begin with.

Scotty's team was outstanding. All limbs, many quite large, were softly and safely cut down, chipped, leaves trashed, and large sections of the trunk of the felled tree loaded onto one of his trucks and hauled away. An expert job by a professional company, most certainly.

They arrived on time and completed the whole job leaving our property completely clean as though the trees were never there and nothing ever happened. I was amazed that the whole project took only 4 hours. Amazing expertise in cutting the larger trees down in a controlled manner. Great experience. Very professional. Very skilled. We received 5 estimates and Scotty's was by far the best and still lower than the lowest estimate after we added much more additional work. We had used Scotty's before a few years ago so I was confident he would do a great job.

We initially had an Arborist from another company come out and look at the trees on our property to tell us if there were any safety concerns (we just bought our house recently). We suspected one was dead, and that's what they confirmed. The quote the other company gave us seemed really high, so after asking friends and neighbors for recommendations, we opted to call Scotty Tree Experts for another quote. Scott was very responsive and came out a day or so later to took a look while we were at work and left a written quote in our mailbox. His estimate was at least $650 cheaper than the first one we received, so we were happy. We emailed him the signed contract and they arrived a few days later (they would have come out sooner, but I wanted to be home). They came on a day that I was working from home and did all the work. He said they would arrive by 8AM, and they were here by 7:50AM. It's always nice to have service providers show up when they say they will! There were 3 trucks and a decent size crew of about 5-7 workers (I didn't count). They cut down the tree, removed the old rotting down tree logs the previous owners had left, and cleaned up in about 2 hours. I think it would have taken them even less time, but their wood chipper gave them a little trouble that set them back maybe a half hour. Not an issue for me, but just FYI for total job time reference. Once they departed, I looked around and it was like they were never even there! We have a wet backyard where the tree was cut down and there were NO dents in the ground, which was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting to see some where the logs came down, but nothing. Great job. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fair price and quality work.

VERY nice guy, indicated that the tree would be taken down in sections, and I could have the wood stacked at the tree line for seasoning (this reduced the cost, since the tree would not need to be hauled away, but the logs will need to be split). Scotty's was the lowest estimate we received, but most others offered crane service, which reduces damage to the property (and THEY get the fire wood). The tree removal was FAST, 2 hours with a crew of 7, and then they were gone. There was no indication when they would come out for the stump removal, but I was not asked for even a deposit on the job. They returned on a Saturday morning and ground the stump down below grade. Cleanup was remarkably good in both visits. The lawn damage from the tree removal was slight (considering branches were being lopped off 80 feet up and the softness of the ground due to rains). The REAL damage was due to the softness of the ground from recent rains and the stump grinding machine weighing an enormous amount. They used plywood sheets to protect the lawn at the street, but my hill to the tree was torn up pretty well. Don't think that was their fault, as there is no real alternative to these machines if you want the stump gone.
