R&D Paving

Richie and his crew were awesome! Paved my driveway and added a drain 2 years ago and today the resealed the driveway. Looks like the day they paved it. The drain was a fantastic addition and completely stopped the pooling we suffered with for the first 18 years we lived here. Great job!

Called on Monday and Richie the owner answered the phone. Very pleasant and helpful in answering my initial questions. He said he would come over the same day and would call when he was on his way. Richie did exactly that and spent at least 20 minutes with me and my wife going over our options. Once we agreed on the job, he went in his truck and wrote up an estimate that seemed very fair. He said he could have his team do the job the next day and we said fine. It was a 4-man team that arrived at 8am. There was a slight upcharge since they had to rip up two layers of asphalt instead of one. They were done by 4:00 or so and the driveway looks great. Best of all, they graded it so that all the water flows to the storm drain so no more flooding or puddles.

Larry did a good job. He has to improve his communication with customer.

The quote to seal the driveway came in at roughly 2X the average quote that I received for the job. The positive was that the firm contacted me quickly.

I hired Rich and R&D Paving in early November 2018 to remove my old driveway and replace with new asphalt. Rich initially answered all of my questions and assured me his team would do a great job. He also told me how busy and booked up he was, yet wanted to collect a deposit within hours of committing to hiring him. This should have been a red flag. His team arrived and installed on the promised date, but that was the end of the positive experience. He offers a “satisfaction guarantee”, but that is not the case in my situation. Within 3 days following install, it rained and we noticed immediately that we had substantial flooding down the center of our driveway (see pics). I contacted Rich several times and he became argumentative and said “we fulfilled our obligation”. So, so I have a driveway that that does not drain and has to have the rain swept with a large broom in order to get some of the water to move away. The problem persisted and eventually Rich texted me around the end of Noverber/early December that he was busy working for the DOT salting roads and would get to my house as soon as he could????? Anyway, that was in early December and he has since refused to return calls. The driveway is now beginning to crack and buckle where all of the puddling has occurred and the driveway is only 3 months old. I would not recommend hiring Rich/R&D paving. There are plenty of options out there and in my opinion it is simply not worth the risk with your hard earned money. He may even respond here as he has done for other reviews. I am not one to write reviews, let alone negative ones, but I hope that I can save someone the time, frustration and money from having to deal with such a horrible operation.

Good - We liked the fact that it did not wash away which they guaranteed (asphalt based) - we were impressed.

Madison and her team did an excellent job on our driveway. It looks fantastic. The team was extremely professional, prompt, and friendly. I appreciate the attention to detail in refreshing the driveway as well as the care they showed re: our home and property. Highly recommend. Thank you R&D!!!

Everything was great. It went very smoothly. They were very prompt. The owner was in contact with me every day. When he said he was going to be there, he was always there and they finished on time.

On time, clean and neat. Very good service. I am having them back to seal coat the driveway in the fall
