Description of Work: On a friends' recommendation, I called BDP when my furnace was not heating the house. It would start, ignite and shut off a few seconds later. They were INCREDIBLY responsive, very friendly, and sent someone out right away. (Which is incredible when it's 10 degrees outside!) | |Their service person proceeded to clean a part on the right side of the furnace, which he told me was the flame sensor, by rubbing it with a dollar bill. He said I had a "second" flame sensor on the left hand side, but didn't bother to clean it, because it's a little harder to reach I guess. The furnace lit after cleaning the one on the right, and he was on his way. Even though it was a quick trip, I think $165 is a fair price for rolling a truck, dispatching a technician and fixing the problem. | |Unfortunately, their technician cleaned the wrong part. The part on the right is not a flame sensor, but rather, the ignitor. The next time the furnace tried to light, it was back to the same broken behavior. He cleaned the ignitor, but ignored the actual flame sensor on the left. | |I took it upon myself to investigate, and removed the actual flame sensor, cleaned it myself, reinstalled it, and the furnace has been fine since. | |It was simply a dirty flame sensor - the service person knew exactly what he was talking about, but cleaned the wrong part. Thankfully, I was still home and able to clean the right part myself easily because I now knew what I was looking for. I would've been upset if I were away for work and my wife had to deal with this. I look at the service call fee as a training session so I know what to do next time. (I do like to be self sufficient when possible.) | |Based again on how highly my neighbor spoke of them, I'd give them a second chance - we all make mistakes, and I do understand that. It happens - they were prompt, professional and courteous in every way. |

We are so satisfied with his service we decided to sign up for their membership program. He was efficient and helpful and described what some of the problems were. Description of Work: We live in a condo unit with neighbors above us. We noticed water spots on the ceiling of our baby's nursery and water dripping from the mirror in our bathroom. Given their previous reviews, I gave our neighbor BDP's number and we called ourselves to see if they could fix the problem (it was obviously a plumbing issue from the above unit). The first visit out, the tech identified the problem as a loose toilet. He resealed the toilet, and we all thought the problem was solved. Water continued to flow and collect in the nursery and bathroom. We alerted our neighbors, who then called BDP once more. On the second visit, the problem was now identified in our neighbors' shower. Once again, we thought the problem was solved. On Saturday, it became readily apparent that the problem was not fixed. 1/4 of the ceiling in the nursery was exhibiting water damage with water literally dripping onto the carpet. My family called BDP. The owner (Dominick?) showed up and saw the extent of the damage. On visit 3, the problem was now identified as a clogged tube from our neighbor's HVAC unit. 1/4 of the ceiling in the nursery had to be replaced and so did a good portion of the ceiling in our bathroom----at our expense. Rather than admitting that they did not fix the job on the first, nor the second try, BDP proceeds to invoice us $400. Really? This company obviously has untrained techs and refuses to vouch for their work---all while making sure you get stuck with the consequences (read the tab) of their inadequacies.

Description of Work: We had a water pipe uncouple from the booster pump in the middle of the night. This company replaced the broken PVC pipe with a better copper pipe. They also advised that the pressure switch in the pump was bad so we should not use it

Description of Work: They where truly awesome from start to finish. Every phone call I received was pleasant and they thanked me for the business. The plummer who showed up at the house could not do the work that they came out to do but got someone else there that could do it. Would recommend again.

Description of Work: OK, so your looking for a great and honest plumber. BDP is the way to go. I moved into the area 5 years ago and really don't know anyone to ask for referrals. I am a very successful software quality assurance manager and I verify everything. Period. I research everything to the nines before I make a decision. Call me sick, I love it. I wanted an American made water heater because America makes better quality products than China.... Duh. MOST American "Name" brand water heater are now made in China. Bradford White IS made in America and it is way superior quality to China crappy manufacturing. I think the cost difference was $150 installed, and its a 15 year purchase. What would you want in your house? BDP customer service was superior when I called with a million questions, they covered all the bases. They were great. They actually appreciated my thoroughtness.... go figure. Hence sick as me? hmm... maybe. Installation was on time and done perfect. I could not be happier. SO , I asked BDP to do some plumbing work. Done and done right.Thank You BDP. You are now my go to Plumber.Jay.

Description of Work: OVERALL: Average Experience (below average for professionalism.) We needed a new hot water heater which they provided and installed. They were able to come out within approx 24 hrs. of our call. The first guy got here 90 mins early without calling to first make sure that this unexpected time was ok. (it really wasnt I had just gotten my 2 yr old packed in the car to run errands, which then had to be put on hold). After he left, not only did I have to clean up muddy foot prints, but I noticed we had no pressure in our kitchen sink; so I called and told them, they acted like I was crazy for thinking it was related, but I knew it was. They sent someone else back to fix the pressure; he did. We noticed a couple weeks later that we had a new leak under our kitchen sink which wasnt there before but decided we wouldnt be calling them to fix it. BOTTOM LINE: We would only use this company again in an urgent situation.

Description of Work: I had a water turnoff valve repaired by a different plumber the week previous to this repair. I was appalled at the previous plumber's behavior. Then two days after this previous plumber was here, I had a massive spaying leak within the same wall. Steam, drenching water in the wall. So I joined Angie's list found this plumber, bdp diamond and called. Two plumbers showed up on time, prompt professional looking. He found the leak. Gave me a price. Had the appropriate tools and was skilled. The other plumber also professional demeanor told me of a problem that he noticed with my brand new newly installed boiler. I am a new home owner and not yet skilled at trouble shooting unfamiliar house systems such as a boiler. I had this same company on the spot fix the bad oil filter. They cleaned up impressively. I had no empty containers to try and find a way to discard. Both explained things, showed me what was wrong and offered solutions. Plus they did a good job on the job at hand. I will use them again.

Description of Work: Serviceman arrived approximately 30 minutes after phone call even though after hours and he was on his way to a meeting. He found a disconnected pipe that caused sump pump to leak. Reconnected pipe and solved problem. Delighted that he came so promptly and could fix problem on the spot (without soiling his dress clothing!)

Description of Work: Replacement of Hot Water Heater. Showed up on time, professional and courteous. There were some mistakes made but the mistakes were rectified very quickly and without a problem.

Description of Work: Removal of existing vanity faucets and installed quailty faucets, supply linses, trap and tail peice. Also replaced existing tub/shower three handled valve assembly with a single handle unit, shower arm/head and tub spigot. All the faucets are "Made in America"!
