Humphrey's Insect & Rodent Control, Inc

We have been using them for six years. They were recommended to us by the person we purchased our home from. They do a good job. I have also used them for a problem I had with bees. They came right out and took care of it for us.

We had a problem with carpenter ants in our kitchen and called A Humphries. The owner came and explained the treatment plan. We signed the contract and the work was completed as per agreement. - The work went well as promised. There were no more carpenter ants in the house. I thought the price was a bit steep but I did not do comparison shopping. I will also need to see if the problem recurs during the carpenter ant season when the weather gets warm again. I also feel that I am now locked into an annual treatment even though I did not have this problem before. The risk of not doing the annual treatments would be another large fee to re-start treatment.

We had a very bad squirrel problem at our house, that had existing for many years before we lived there. Humphreys was nice enough and cheap enough. They came and threw up some traps. They caught a squirrel or two. They were very confident that they could fix the problem. But they wouldn't do the complete job. They wanted us to get a roofer to seal up the openings (which we did and ended up sealing in a squirrel). And the squirrels kept coming. Humphreys came every few days FOR MONTHS, asking me where I heard them, placing new traps and re-baiting. Every time it was a different guy and each guy had contradicting opinions with the previous guys. After months, I finally found Wildlife Control Specialist. They charged a lot more, but they did the job, and they did it in a week or two. They used a different type of trap (and mentioned that the traps Humphreys used just caught the dumbest squirrels and made the remaining ones "trap-smart" and harder to catch), caught them all quickly, sealed up my roof and took full responsibility (rather than passing blame to the roofers). I'll write a separate review on them, but if you have a real wildlife problem, save yourself the time and aggravation and skip Humphreys.

Back in May, 2011, a tenant brought in bedbugs. Humphries charged me approximately $1500. for three treatments. over a period of 6 weeks. Two months later, I discovered they were still there. Humphries returned to do another three treatments (last one free). So all tallied, this cost me almost $2300.00 and guess what....I'm told they're STILL there! Honestly...did these folks really DO anything???? Six treatments! I'm looking for another company.

I used Humphries for a quarterly service. A different person came out each time. Sometimes they were thorough, other times they hardly did anything at all. Usually, they did very little. I caught them once having done nothing but leave a bill. When I complained, they sent another person out, but still, I could never trust them again.

They are good. I have a quarterly service; but they are really good. The guy who came out treated the bee nest in my wall. It was pretty good. They are reliable and prompt. The technicians who came out were nice.

Staff were punctual and professional. The licensed technician Nelson was terrific! He investigated the situation, set traps, and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. He will be coming back next month to see if the traps worked, and will most likely reset the traps in the future for monthly maintenance to prevent re-occurrence of the rodents. I give Nelson an A+ on all counts for his work so far. The only negative is the price, which Nelson does not control. Ralph the salesman who initailly came to my house gave the estimate: the initial work of setting the traps was to be $230.05 which included a 10% Angieslist discount, and it will cost me $74.90 each month for the return and the maintenance. I do think this is quite steep, but if they get the job done, then it is worth it. And I certainly appreciate their professionalism and respectfulness. For me, those qualities are worth the extra price.

The initial inspection was thorough and professional. The follow up treatment was prompt and thorough. We were very pleased and signed up for quarterly treatments. We think the price and value are better than previous services we had used

I signed up with them in April for a bigger contract for carpenter ants. I also had a couple of different estimates. I did lot of reading on Angie's website and I think Humphreys was on there. I had known them on my own and I liked them when I had to deal with them. I think it was just further confirmed by something which I read on Angie's List about some presale that was going on with them. It was a follow up work that was a part of just the original contract. They clearly told me to be out of the house for four hours after the initial spray and then after that with the windows open, it was fine. I think their price was good but I will watch and see overtime whether the work is going in the right direction. I will see if there is tremendous reduction and things, then I will be satisfied. I had a small company before and so I'm just seeing the treatment some more in depth.

They are good about making appointments. They come when they are supposed to. Their people are very nice when they come. They are trustworthy and professional.

I liked them. They called and set up the appointment for me. They are clean and friendly. I haven't had any bugs, which is a good thing. The price is fine. He was very nice and professional. I would absolutely use them again.

Everything they have done is preventative. I don?t know how to mark them for their job as they have done an actually job yet. They were responsive and punctual. They are pushing me with a sales pitch which I do not like it. I think their advertising strategy on Angie?s list is kind of misleading. I get 10% off for a service. However, I don?t get an off on the multiple services I take. When I asked them they told me that they had given 10% off on one service and I will not get in on all the services. I used them mainly because they were rated high on the Angie?s list website.

They were great. They will come back in 3 months to check on the traps.

They were prompt, explained how it worked, what would be done, answered all my questions. They also called after 3 months to set up quarterly inspection. Friendly and good service. I would recommend them.

The tech who showed up (Peter) was really terrific. He gave me quite an education about carpenter bees and their habits/damage as well as how woodpeckers damage fascia boards seeking the carpenter bee larvae (those birds were busy!). He did a very thorough job and I could not have asked for better service! Thank you Peter!

Excellent experience with Humphrey's. A racoon had been removed by the local animal control officer but at least one more was heard in the attic area. I called Humphrey's and they came right away to inspect and recommend a plan to trap for a 60-day period. They placed traps on the roof and on the ground and trapped and removed five racoons. Their pricing structure was superior to the other animal removal companies that provided estimates. They charged a relatively low initial charge for the 60-day trapping period and removal of the first trapped animal followed by a $30 fee for each additional animal removed. I appreciated the excellent customer service provided by everyone I dealt with on the phone, the initial estimators, and the technicians who removed the animals. All calls are answered and if after hours are returned promptly I plan to use Humphrey's for other pest control needs.

Did work as promised and when promised at a fair price. Seemed very professional.

I called the company and they made someone available at a time convenient for me and they were very helpful on the call. The gentleman (Ralph?) came right on time and was helpful and told us about various options. We have well water so there ended up only being a couple of things we could do, but I felt good about his suggestions and the visit.

No complaints. The gentleman arrived on time, did the work and left.
