Stanhope Appliance Repair

I hired Stanhope Appliance Repair to fix a dryer that stopped giving heat in March 2018. I was told on the phone that I would be charged $60 for a service fee should the repairman diagnose something and I decline the service. However, if I agreed to the service, the $60 fee would be added to the final bill. The repairman came on time, was kind and professional, and he fixed the dryer. I was charged a total of $165. I was told I had a 90-day warranty on the work. Not soon after my credit card was charged $60 and $165. I disputed this with the company, having been told that the $60 was supposed to be included in the final bill. I even have a text message from the repairman agreeing with me and that I would be credited. They would not budge. The dryer stopped working again not two weeks after it was supposedly fixed. I disputed the $60 with MasterCard, and that process is ongoing. I was told by the company that because I'm disputing the charge, the 90-warranty would no longer apply to the work. I'd have to pay another $60 for them to come out. That's when I realized I was being scammed. I will never do business with this company again. This is not how an honest company works. I can afford the $60, but it is the principle behind it. Do not trust this company. Run from it.
