Description of Work: I installed my own water heater but could not stop water line from leaking.I called and they and they came the next day. They tighten the treaded fittings and tested for leaks and corrected my problem. All that was charged was the service call which was reasonable. I am very happy.

Description of Work: There were two separate projects, one stemming from the other. The first was a replacement gas fire log set for the fireplace. After a full explanation of what was available, the installer was very helpful in determining which was my best option. The unit was available and installed with absolutely no upset to the house in just a couple of hours. It was, however, at $2200, a tad more expensive than I was imagining. The larger project by far was central air conditioning for an almost 100-year-old house. Had the fireplace thing not been so well-done, I doubt that I would even have asked about AC; previous inquiries of other firms had put it way out of my price range. The installer first conducted a preliminary evaluation of the house, inside and out, to get some idea of what was involved, then advised that he would bring his boss, the company owner, to do the "official" assessment. I waste died with a formal written estimate at this visit, was given ample opportunity to think it over and ask any number of questions. This "thinking period" led to a revised estimate based on my requirements, which was again provided in writing. I approved the project, it began on time and was completed on time with very little disruption of the household. Further, there was no "mess" normally associated with drilling through plaster ceilings/walls and tramping in and out of rooms for days. The pre-rebate price of $13K was affordable and far less than other quotes I received over time. All-in-all, I am very satisfied with Alpine. Description of Work: Alpine gave us the best price for new ac and air handler. After instalation there were issues with noise and lack of insulation in air handler which alpine fixed at no cost to us in follow up appointments. However, i am giving this company overall lower score because aside from their president, customer service is awful. Within 2 week i scheduled 3 service calls, i take off 2 days to be there for technician and not only technician didn't show up for 2 appointment but when i called the company to ask where technician was, they told me, they cancelled appointments and did not inform me about this cancelations. This company provides good work and good prices which makes me want to work with them however a company which is unreliable in regards to if they show up leaves a lot to be desired.
