Alpine Heating and Cooling

The furnace in our rental property would not turn on. We scheduled an appointment with Alpine and they came out the very next day, arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the issue with the furnace. I would expect most heat/ac companies to push me towards replacing the 30 year old furnace. However, the tech was very informative and advised that he could fix the unit or if we wanted, we could replace the furnace since it was the original. There was no pressuring or rushing. I called them back after talking to my wife and agreed to have them replace the entire unit as the repair was $500 and replacement was $2600. Being it was the original furnace I did not want to risk fixing it only to have some other issue arise shortly. Once I told them, they promptly procured the furnace and had the furnace back up and running within a couple of hours. I was kept informed and at ease throughout the entire process. The owner even struck up a conversation with me. Overall this was a great experience and I would recommend Alpine to anyone with heating / a/c issues/needs. I will definitely use Alpine again in the future.

Our cooling system quit cooling(!) in the peak of the summer of 2014. We had home warranty and those guys came over and the cooling system had to be replaced. We asked for quotes for the replacement. After many providers, Art came over on a Saturday morning for a quote. After standing thru many of the previous providers quote process I was impressed by Art by the knowledge he had about almost everything to do with HVAC and also the way he figured out the entire system without a lot of measuring. He told me about the history of the present system we had. We went over the new system he recommended and the reasons for the recommendation. He made sure we get the best quote and also made sure we get the maximum rebates. The overall quote was the best we had received. We had couple of more providers over on the same day. We decided to go ahead with Alpine and we were scheduled immediately for the next week. This is when noticed that the ladder to the attic was broken and I was sure that it would not hold the weight of the heating system going up to the attic. I informed Art and asked to postpone the installation. Art said they could repair the aluminium ladder too. And we had the technicians over the date of installation. They were very fast and very professional. The installation took 2 days and we were very impressed by the way it was handled. After some days we had the inspectors over to the check the installation. It was approved without a single comment. We were very impressed by Alpine's work and will use them in future too.

I called Alpine at 7:40am and told them that the blower motor on my furnace has been making a loud noise and now it stopped working so I'm not getting any heat. They told me that someone would come out to take with look at it between 9am and 1pm. At 9:45, Dan showed up. He immediately confirmed that the blower motor needs to be replaced. He quickly went back to his shop to get a replacement motor and by 11am I had my furnace back up and running. This was my first time using Alpine and I'll definitely use them from now on for any future projects.

I have been a customer of this company for over 17 years. They are the best ever! I called at 9:30am when I realized I had no hot water. The secretary, Robin, (yes a real live person answers the phone! Can you believe that in this day and age???) said I can have a service tech out to you within 30 minutes. Well 20 minutes later he rang my door bell. Every person I have ever dealt with is so nice, professional and knowledgable! He assessed what was wrong, figured it out, gave me a reasonable price, checked a few other things for me out of kindess and was on the phone ordering what I needed. An hour later the 2 wonderful repairmen rang the bell and took care of everything!!! In 4 hours from start to finish I had brand new hot water heater installed with no mess whatsoever!! (YES they are clean and clean up as well!) Where do you get service like that?? Another wonderful experience from a wonderful company!!! :) Thank you as always Alpine!!! :)

After the gas company came out to replace a part in our furnace, they found a crack in the heat exchanger and shut us down (the low temp for today is supposed to be 10 with a sub-zero wind chill). Called Alpine at 12:30. Art came out at 1:00 and listed three options for us. I called back at 1:30 with a decision. 2:00 a crew of 5 guys showed up with my furnace. 2 more arrived shortly after. 4:15 - I have a new, running furnace and thermostat. They even had to correct an electrical issue that popped up. I can't say enough about the promptness of Art, and the professionalism of him and his crew. We've used them before and will not hesitate to use them again, and would recommend them to anyone who needs any HVAC work. When I thanked him for taking such good care of us, his reply was simply "It's too cold for you to not have heat!"

We were having heating problems with our furnace in the attic. We contacted 6 different HVAC companies to identify the issue and get it rectified. All the companies, except Alpine, identified the issue as the heat exchanger and suggested that we should get a new furnace and quoted anywhere from $2900 to $3200 for installation of a single stage furnace. Our experience with Alpine was different (in a good way). Art, who is the owner of Alpine, spoke with me over the phone, understood what the problem that we were having and sent me a quote for a new Lennox Signture series 2-stage system, which was competitive with the pricing for single stage systems provided by other HVAC companies. He also sent his HVAC technician, Brian, over to our house that same day (knowing that we had no heat) to take a look at what the issue was and if a new furnace was really necessary. Brian was punctual and very informative on how furnaces work and what specifically was wrong with our furnace - he identified the issue as a bad control box, which resulted in no spark to light up the combustion in the furnace. Alpine ordered the part for our Trane furnace and it was replaced today. Everything is working fine now. I'd definitely hire Alpine again - we are going to switch over to Alpine for our yearly maintenance of our 2 furnaces and AC units. I would also recommend Alpine to other Angies List readers. Big thanks to Art, Brian and Alpine for a job well done... and for saving us money :-)

On 1/13/15 my hot water heater exploded at 10:00 PM. Naturally, I started looking for a company to replace it. I sent a few emails considering it was after hours. At 11:45 PM I received not only an email response but a quote for two different hot water heaters. I called Robin and Art at 7 AM the next morning and there was a crew at my house at 8:30 AM. I am very impressed by the speed and professionalism of Alpine Plumbing. Also the price was very reasonable considering some companies are charging $1200-$1500 for a hot water heater. Needless to say the install went well and I would use Alpine again. Thank You

Our experience with Alpine Heating and Cooling was a great one. From the initial contact, to our estimate, coordination of work, the installation, and follow-up rebate communication, we couldn't have been happier. Art provided us with several options for our new systems (price vs efficiency, with rebate information taken into account), and also assessed our airflow issues, which had been causing us some heating and cooling issues on the upper floor of the house (Alpine was the only company that provided a solution for the airflow inadequacies at the time of the estimate). The gentlemen that came to install the systems were timely, competent, courteous and friendly, and left the house and yard cleaner than they found it! I'm finally warm in my upper floor office, and very happy. I would not hesitate to recommend Alpine Heating and Cooling to my friends and family, and wish them all the best.

The technician was on time( a bit early actually). He was very professional and answered all questions. He changed the filters and made sure everything was working properly as this was a newly purchased home that had been vacant for a while. He also showed me how to program the thermostat and put it on a schedule. I would definitely use this company again. Most likely will use them for our AC tuneup.

The technicians came within the given window of time. They were very knowledgable and professional. They cleaned the system, changed the filters. They also gave some good recommendations on which filters to buy and the hot water heater. Overall satisfied with the service.

Right from the beginning, i liked this company. Art, the owner, came out to provide the estimate, and was more competitive than the other 2 ocmpanies I had called in. He let me know about the professionals that do his installations, and he was right. Everyone in the crew was punctual, neat, knowledgable and professional. They did the job in the time quoted, cleaned up everything, and left me with AC that has been working perfectly. I highly recommend them.

Scheduled appt the next day. Technician cam e in window given (around 12:30 in 12-3:30 window). Very professional. Did not try to sell me new equipment, even though my furnaces are 20+ yrs old and not the most efficient, but we did discuss what replacing them would cost and what I would need, at my request. Answered all my questions. Replaced filters and gave cost upfront before doing so. Overall, very good experience.

They were responsive to a couple of repairs issues we had. They were fair in price. There is one issue that is still outstanding but I don't think it's their fault.

Everything went extremely well. They were prompt, polite and did everything extremely quickly. Our furnace died on Sunday and I called them on Monday morning. I had an estimate by Monday evening and a new furnace and hot water heater completely installed by Thursday evening. Could not have asked for better service

I was very happy with the service provided. The guy who came out (I don't recall his name) was on time and friendly. He readily answered all my questions, explained what he was doing and why, and did not try to upsell me on additional services or new equipment.

Alpine has been maintaining my HVAC system for a number of years. They are pleasant to work with, neat and tidy, and on time. They have a good reputation in the Central Jersey area for having decent prices and quality work. This time, the guy came a little early (which was fine by me). He replaced one of our filters and said that our system was fine.

The person who answered the phone was courteous and helpful. She got someone out to the house within 2 hours. The guy who came was professional, knew what he was doing, explained the cost beforehand and then fixed the heating system. The cost was almost exactly what they anticipated and I am extremely satisfied with the work and the company overall. Am using them again to fix my air conditioning unit.

They were very professional. They explained everything, and they were efficient.

Alpine stopped by to provide estimate. His price was the best but he did not offer options that I liked. He did not give me the full PS&G rebate (only $200 vs $250) and did not offer the option of the WiFI thermostat. In fact he said the I had to buy both the Furnace AND the A/C unit for the WIFI Lennox thermostat to work (which is not true). Alpine was also formerly with HD which was a negative for me.

We have been using Alpine for years to provide regular maintenance for our heating and cooling systems. They are prompt, courteous and professional.

lServiceman was able to detect a rare occurance of a water buildup in a feeder line to the thermostat pressure gauge. He had heat on in moments. Great service. and I was extremely impressed with his ability to discover this rare occurance almost instantaneously. Heat was working by 8:50 AM. Approximate cost included in a $460.00. Annual maintenance contract. Thirty second year of dependable service Have used since 1979. With continuous contract through 3 furnaces and 2 Air conditioners and now 1 water heater. The most trouble -free service I have ever experienced.
