The job went well. When the workers removed the first board they found the rotting second board and had to get additional wood. It was obtained and the work was completed in a timely fashion. The yard was cleared of all debris, and indeed left in a neater condition that it was when they arrived.

I called HappyHandyman and the owner came to give me an estimate. The estimate was much lower than I expected. The owner was honest and said he was a little backed up, but I was in no hurry to have the repair work done. Setting the work date was easy with a phone call from HappyHandyman within two days of the estimate. The work men arrived ON TIME, with a phone call a half hour in advance. Upon arrival, a written work order was presented with the correct estimated price. They put heavy drop cloths on the floor from the front door to the bedroom to protect the carpet. They covered the furniture with light plastic sheets. They moved my king size bed (umph!) and started work. They cut out the damaged area on the ceiling (about 4'x4') and replaced it with sheet rock, then did a AMAZING job taping and spackling with quick drying spackle. It was so smooth I hardly have to sand before I paint. The two workmen worked well together, seemingly with ESP! It took 3.5 hours. They vacuumed after taking up the drop cloths on the carpet. I mentioned that I would be calling the company back to do some other small work, showed them what I needed fixed and they were very encouraging. I paid them and they left the written estimate signed and dated as the receipt of payment in full. The two workmen were professional and friendly. You could see they took pride in their work. I could see that "no corners were cut..." I would highly recommend HappyHandyman to my friends and neighbors!

I am handicapped, with progressive MS. I desperately needed staircase bannisters, on both sides of the stairs, so that I would have an easier, safer time negotiating the stairs in my split level home. Happy Handy Man Service came in, on one day, to assess and measure. They came, today, to install, at exactly the time scheduled. The installer noted my small hands and actually replaced the bannister material they already had with new materials (they purchased exclusively for me) so that I would have an easier time grasping the bannister and be safe! Installation was quick, careful, SOLID and precise. After the bannisters were installed, the installers painted them. Happy Handy Man would have stained them, had I preferred it. I can't say enough good things about how generous, knowledgable, friendly, courteous and proficient this company is. I have used quite a few handymen in this area and I can say, beyond the shadow of a doubt, Happy Handy Man has provided the BEST service I have ever had. There is, literally, nothing more that you could ask for! I will be using them again and again.

First rate job. My only criticism is some damage to plants close to the house and at the end of the driveway. A thoroughly painless experience from start to finish: cordial, thorough, professional, punctual. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Glenn and his helper, David, did a wonderful, very thorough job in powerwashing and waterproofing our deck and fence. Rain was a problem and the job took longer than Glenn would have liked - but, the work was VERY professional and VERY meticulous. We are extremely happy with the end result, and would not hesitate to call Glenn again when we have a need.

Found Happy Handyman on Angies List.Glenn was through in his evaluation of the kitchen and made some great suggestions on tweaking our plan to improve the kitchen flow.We had purchased 4 additional (larger) cabinets to replace the ceiling mounted ones that we had removed - and Glenn worked around our schedule so that we could to get all of the cabinets painted prior to being hung. Due to unexpected oralsurgery -Glenn himsefl didn't do the actul work himself- but had 2 of his workers come each day. The guys were great! They were professional, respectful and very thorough in cleaning up as they worked. They also made some great suggestions that I hadn't thought of- and the tile work that Omar did was perfect! When we discovered that the cabinets extended beyond where the previous ones had been ( our mistake since we had purchased and painted the cabinets before hiring Glenn)- making the countertop look short- they came up with a great soultion and exteded my countertop by 6 inches-something I had not considered- but now I love having that extra space beside the cooktop!Glenn called each day to check on the progress and to make sure that everything was exactly the way that I wanted it. Everyone that has seen the kitchen is amazed at how different it looks- and what a great job the guys did!We are thrilled with our "new" kitchen!

Glenn came in April to look at all that we wanted to have done and give us an estimate for the painting and to replace three windows in the basement, and drill a hole for the dryer vent (which was at the time going out one of the windows). My husband and I got in touch with our decisions and the contract in early May, and they started work in late May. My part-time work schedule makes it tricky being home, but Glenn was able to schedule us on a Thursday and Friday which worked well for me. On the first day, they arrived at 9:30. Glenn himself was not with the group on the first day, but Don introduced himself and the others. Altogether I think there were five of them. (Glenn and one assistant had replaced our bedroom ceiling a number of years ago, so the jump in size was a bit of a change.) Two of them worked on the windows and the dryer vent, and the others got started patching and preparing the walls for painting. There was one difficulty with the windows (not their fault). The water company had run a wire through one of the windows we had intended to replace. So in the end they replaced only two rather than all three (for now), and we agreed to wait on the third window until the water company is done. The windows and dryer vent were done the first day. Glenn came the second day, again around 9:30, with the painters. It was a rainy and humid week, so paint was slow to dry. They came back on Saturday from 9:30 until around 1:30 to finish up the painting, which meant we were able to restore order (at least a little bit) to the house over the rest of the weekend. The two rooms that were painted look great, and the two windows look nice. We'll be looking forward to getting the third window done when it is possible to do so.

Initially he was very nice & showed up on time. Unfortunately, he excluded a bunch of things that were important on the estimate & then also lumped everything else together. I wasn't prepared to do the painting jobs now - I just wanted an estimate for it. He had a price but it was all on the same contract & I wasn't prepared to commit to that because I wanted that job done later, in the summer, when I could open window. I also asked if a couple prices were negotiable because they seemed a little high - he said no, but that was ok. It took a couple of times contacting him after that initial visit. After a couple emails, asking that he refine the quotes to my request - taking the painting & plastering job off for a later contract - I asked when he'd be available to start for the other job. He responded saying that I kept taking things off the list, that I was trying to dictate his prices (I just asked to negotiate) & that he didn't want to deal with me now or in the future. I thought was incredibly rude. I think he's probably overwhelmed.

Very pleased with this handyman. I had a leak in my main drainpipe and my plumber needed access inside the kitchen wall behind the cabinetry. The Happy Handyman came to my house on short notice, in the evening, before the plumber came, to remove a cabinet and cut out a section of drywall between two studs. After the plumber repaired the leak, the Happy Handyman promptly returned to patch the drywall, rehang the cabinet and reattach the base cabinet that the plumber removed, spackled and sanded and retouched the paint, also spackled and sanded the ceiling because of water damage and repainted the ceiling, and touched up the paint throughout the kitchen. When he left, the kitchen didn't just look AS GOOD as it had before the damage and repair, it looked significantly better. This is the handyman you want to hire. He's extremely knowledgeable and competent, meticulous about his work, and generous with his time. His rates are very affordable. His crews are polite and conscientious workers--definitely people you'd be comfortable allowing in your house. I absolutely plan to hire him again.

Glenn and his crew were awesome. They were punctual, professional, friendly, and provided high quality workmanship. Glenn was extremely helpful in coordinating the permitting and inspection process with the proper city officials. He made things very easy for us during an otherwise stressful time. Saw the, "Happy Handyman Services", sign board in the neighborhood and gave them a call. Our first meeting with Glenn Mudrick the owner of this service gave me positive vibes that I was dealing with an experienced professional. Glenn attentively listened to all the issues and made notes. He explained to me the root-cause of the problem and the right way of fixing the issue. A quotation was provided to us and it was reasonable. Glenn's Team were punctual and got onto their job like a well oiled machine. Each person of their Team was a professional and went on with their job well. Un-expected problems were encountered during the course of the work, Glenn requested a discussion and we talked about the next course to get the job done well. Glenn was able to maneuver his schedule and complete the task without any additional stress. One thing note-worthy was that at the end of each day, his team members vacuumed and even mopped the entire area. A job well done!

Please consider this the highest of recommendations for the Happy Handyman. Glen, the owner and boss of Happy Handyman treats his clients/customers as if they are family in all the good ways. He is expert at any project he accepts, finishes on time and prices his work very fairly. Excellent value. We have used his services before and he just finished the project above. As usual, consistent, on time, quality results. We will be using his company for more projects in the future.

I called Happy Handyman about 2 or 3 days after Christmas, 2011. As I explained that I had an issue with water leakage, they said they would come out to look the next day because stopping water leakage into a house is an urgent matter. They did a very thorough job of evaluating multiple, possible points of entry of water, and what steps could be taken by a full-service roofing contractor to remedy the problems. They applied cement over the most leak-prone areas, as a temporary measure (band-aid), and advised me to work with a roofing contractor for the complete fixes that are required. They followed up with me to make sure that no leaks were occurring. Their responsiveness, thorough attention to detail, and prompt service are greatly appreciated.

They were very neat. They cleaned up after themselves. They worked all the time they were here. They were polite as well.

Overall, I was very pleased with Glenn's work and professionalism. Notably,the "biggest" projects -- the back deck powerwashed and stained, and fencepowerwashed and repaired -- were very well done. The deck and fence lookedbrand new, and Glenn and his helper applied the stain meticulously and neatly.My only minor issues (though I would certainly use him again) were that thenew screen door installed isn't perfect, but I accept that this could be due toa crooked door jamb and not due to his helper's work (though his helperdid dent the new door, which I was not happy about). They were alsosupposed to come on a Thursday afternoon to powerwash, but did notcome until the next AM (and did not notify me of that). **Again, myoverall experience was good, and I in fact recommended Glenn (particularlydue to price and overall quality work) to my next-door neighbor.

Glenn was incredibly helpful. He walked us through the process of what exactly we needed to pick out to re-do the entire bathroom. He suggested suppliers and some design ideas that were incredibly helpful. He gutted the entire bathroom and fixed all issues we had. We have a brand new bathroom that is almost perfect. The only issue we had was that the shower was plumbed backwards and the hot is cold and cold is hot. Everything else was done to perfection and we would definitely use this company again. He was incredibly good about keeping the permit and inspection process streamlined so we didn't have any time wasted waiting for inspectors before more work could be done. We have also recommended this company to friends and family.

I recommended them to my parents. He is a really good service provider. My parents were really pleased with the work they did in their house. He also worked in my house. He was very professional. He explained my father everything that he was going to do. The work was done quickly. I think they were there only for few hours. We would use them in the future.

The owner was kind and friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Both my wife and son were comfortable around him so that made us feel better about people in our home. The workers were ok. The foreman of the (2) laborers was a bit chatty but fine to be around. I stayed home during the (3) day construction process, which really should have been (2) days and didn't get much work done. I also found out one of the laborers was someone they picked up a week early from down town. I guess the foreman used this as an excuse when things started going bad. The work... Bathroom demolition went quick. They did a good job of putting drop cloths everywhere but the drop cloths were dusty and left a good amount of dust residue all over. When they put the ceiling in the bathroom back up they forgot to cut out a hole for the vent. This caused them to be here an extra day. The pain they used was cheap and our standard sheetrock walls sucked them up. The paint job was so lousy I made the owner come back on the third day to repaint the bathroom, and yet still we were not happy. The utility room demo went fine and I was a bit happier w/ the paint job although I made them paint it again because the wall stains were still visible on the walls which were not removed. They knew I was unhappy so they painted the gas piping going to the boiler which was nice. What was not nice was though was they turned the gas off during the paint job and forgot to turn it back on. We only became aware when my wife was bathing our 1-year old and discovered their was no hot water because the gas had been turned off. I called to complain and they denied it completely. I guess these thing just happen by themselves out of the blue. Needless to say I was furious. The owner knew of all the issues that occurred and assured me they'd come back and do some trim work in our kitchen free of charge. Of course he said this as I was handing him the check and never heard back from him again. This was my first time using Angies List and could not understand how they received such a high review for their services. I now question the accuracy the website and wish my first experience would have been a lot better.

Deck Maintenance: Glen and his team and power washed the old deck and the new extended deck. The finish on the old deck was removed. They went around and checked for any loose boards, railings, lattice and screwed in any loose boards. This was not even part of the proposal, but he made us a happy customers by doing this for us. After a couple of days of letting the deck dry out Glen and his team came back out, tested the stain out on a small part of our deck, took a picture and sent it to us while we were at work. We approved and his team went to work. They came out the second day to apply more layers of stain to the deck and lattice. THE DECK LOOKS AMAZING!!! We are happy the way the deck came out and for Glen telling us how to maintain the deck to keep it looking new for years. We are looking forward to our backyard bbq's on our new deck! Railings: Railings came out looking like new. 1 day to grind them down basically down to the bone. They came out the next day to get the tougher spots with a better attachment and primed the railings white. Smooth railings now and no more gripping old rusty chipping railings. Power Wash Front Sidings: They power washed the front of the house. Removing black dirt spots from the vinyl sidings and gutters. Exterior of the gutters look so much better now. Glen worked extremely h****** a stain we had on our house from last year. He recommended some things to try out and we will look into soon. Overall Glen is true to his word. He looks to have his customers happy with the work done and he doesn't look to nickle and dime you in anyway. We also had a few things in common which was great to talk about. I will definitely use his services again.

They arrived when scheduled and got to work quickly, one man to a task, although both of them worked on the outlet because the wires had been nailed to a stud behind the drywall. In order to move the box they had to make sure the wires were long enough, so they had to remove a big staple holding the wires to the wood by reaching into the hole and jimmying it out. Once the wires were free the rest of the job went quickly. The drywaller patched the hole where the box had been and applied two coats of mud to the wallpaper seam on the other wall. They were professional and very nice, and I learned a lot watching and asking questions.

After contacting this company Glen arrived on time and furnished a complete and detailed quote. All aspects of the job were quoted separately so we could choose which we wanted to proceed with. The work was scheduled very promptly. Glen and his crew arrived promptly on the first day of the job and the work was completed over two days. Several workers were in and out of the house. They were all very pleasant and kept the mess to a minimum. After the work was completed the work area was completely cleaned. After the spackle had dried there were a few small areas that needed to be sanded. I touched them up myself but I am sure if I had called Glen they would have taken care of it. Overall the quality of the work was very good.

Happy Handyman responded to my call for interior painting quickly. He walked through the house and went over everything I wanted thoroughly. The foyer, living room, dining, hall and some doors that I recently had installed. The price was very reasonable, as it included the cost of paint. I felt very secure in trusting them in my home to paint while I was not there. They were very prompt and when I returned home that same day, everything was neatly returned to it's place and the painting job was beautiful - very professional. I was pleased to see they actually made some ceiling repairs. I would definitely use them again. I have absoulutely no complaints.

A portion of the drywall basement ceiling fell in our 1950s home. We called Glenn and he came by to give us an estimate and was able to perform the work the very next day. We can't tell you how truly satisfied we are with the service provided and the work performed. The basement was left clean and tidy - it didn't seem like anyone had even been there except that the gaping hole in the ceiling was gone and a wall that had been destroyed by our first dog had been replaced. We could go on and on, but we highly, highly recommend this company. Glenn and David were efficient, professional and on time. We would definitely hire him again!
