The house is old and there were a few surprises after opening up the walls but the job was done within the anticipated time frame. I'm very happy with the work and plan to use Happy Handyman again. Glenn and crew show strong attention to detail and a willingness to do what's necessary to get you what you want if at all possible. A pet peeve of mine when dealing with contractors is that they are often not very responsive. Glenn was generally good about getting back to me when I needed an answer to a question or had a concern. He repeatedly stressed that he stands behind the work. I don't have any reason to test that so far but based on what Ive seen I feel pretty good that it's a meaningful statement.

My wife and I found Happy Handyman Service (and proprietor Glenn Mudrick) through Angie's list and we are glad we did! This company was one of four (2 from Angie's list) we requested quotes from for a bathroom renovation at our home. Although their quote was not the lowest, it was reasonable and we felt that they had the experience and also a customer service approach with which we felt comfortable as documented in Angie's list. Their proposal was explicit and detailed as to what they were responsible for, what was going to be done and when it would be done. Glenn took care of the paperwork for the permits and facilitated the inspections on a speedy basis. Although there were a few bumps as the renovation progressed, Glenn was quick to respond and ensured that we were happy with the end product. Even after we had started to use our wonderful new bathroom, there was a minor issue. Glenn responded to our call immediately and got the problem fixed with minimum disruption. We've had such bad experiences in the past with other contractors we used for renovations that we did not know what to expect this time around. We are extremely happy with the work done by Happy Handyman and will certainly used them again when needed

We had a few communication issues initially but I think this was due to the fact that Glenn and his guys were incredibly busy. The work went smoothly thereafter. Glenn hires excellent people and I am very happy with everything that was done. Would definitely call him again.

The work was not done at all. Overall experience is bad.

Experience was very positive. They spent about a day removing the wood panneling and a couple of days installing the insulation and drywall. Were very neat and tidy and very friendly overall. Replaced molding around windows and door frame and took care to make sure it matched the rest of the house (it's an old house).

From the initial call and email through to the estimate Glenn is very responsive and extremely professional. I can tell he is also highly knowledgeable and really does make you feel comfortable, even when discussing unfamiliar processes. It really is refreshing when a contractor quickly responds to an email, answers the phone, and returns calls...and yes all of this with a smile and an overall pleasant tone. This should be the norm for all contractors but unfortunately it is not, and that is why I would highly recommend The Happy Handyman. Regrettably, I could not utilize Glenn's services as I need to cut costs at this time but I would not hesitate to give him a call for any future projects.

Both jobs were done in a good workman like manner, on time and with a minimum of fuss. I'd definately use them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

The owner was very impressive. The guys who came out to do the work were okay, they didn't quite represent the company as well as the owner did. I will say they were very responsive with what needed to be fixed afterwards, but I felt the work should have been done right the first time.

After contacting calling the Happy Handiman I received a return phone call within 8 hours of my call. Mark showed up at the arranged time without incident. He was prompt, professional and knew exactly what needed to be done. He explained the process that was required on this job and estimated the time he would need to complete it. SInce it was in a rental apartment that I own I was very happy that Mark would be able to go into the unit, do the repairs and finish without my constant supervision. When the job was finished he asked that I inspect the work and send him a check if I was satisfied. Mark not only repaired the walls but removed the rust, repainted the metal, rebuilt and reframed the window in places that could not be saved and made it look as good as new. To get back the key to the apartment , Mark arranged to come to an agreed upon location to save me the travel time from Morristown, NJ to Rutherford. As luck would have it, my neighbor worked with Mark professionally and knew him well giving him a glowing recommendation. I would like to say the recommendation was well earned!

Overall, my experience was positive. The work needed was more expansive than originally thought, because as repairs began more rotted wood was discovered. Glen let me know as we went how much more the project would cost if I wanted to do the extra work. The workmen showed up on time and did a professional job.

He didn't return any of my phone calls.

This was my second go-round with Happy Handyman and again I am very pleased with the results. Glenn and his guys are professional and thorough and when they come in to do a job they get it done in a very short period of time. When the guys started to take down the wallpaper in the den they realized it had been applied over paneling without any sizing and it was coming off in little bits. The paneling beneath was also not nailed down well. A decision was rapidly made not to try and remove the wallpaper, but to install new drywall over the whole room. Some of the guys ran to buy the drywall and others started to take down the molding and within a few hours, the new drywall was up, the seams had been taped and the compound applied. Over the next day or so, the walls were sanded and smoothed and new molding was put up. A new laminate floor was installed and the whole room (plus ceiling) was painted. A few years ago, the air conditioner that was installed through the wall in my downstairs hallway gave out and I had discussed the installation of a new one with Glenn last year. This summer, a new air conditioner was bought and Glenn's crew picked it up for me at Home Depot and within a few hours, had it installed and retrofitted into the original opening. The guys also stabilized a mailbox post and the mailbox on it as well as installing a flag support on my front porch. I have been extremely happy with the work that Happy Handyman has done for me. Glenn has always been proactive and willing to suggest alternatives when original ideas haven't proved to be workable. You can be sure of a quality job when you employ this crew.

I reached out to Glenn on Tuesday afternoon and he responded later in the evening that he would be able to fit me in that week. He provided a very resonable estimate based on my description of the job and 2 of his guys (Dennis and I forget the other gentleman's name) showed up right on time at 8:30 in the morning the following Thursday. They were both very professional and courteous and did a very nice job on the ceiling, which entailed cutting out a section of the sheetrock, nailing/taping up a new piece, and 2 coats of spackle. Prior to them arriving, I made an additional request to Glenn asking if they could also paint it for me. He stated that he would paint it as well and would try not to raise the price depending on what it entailed. Given his response, I felt very good about the type of individual Glenn was and felt very comfortable that I had chosen the right person/company for the job. When Dennis arrived on Thursday morning, I reviewed the additional request about the paint and he also stated that they would work with me regarding the price. Feeling very good about the kind of people I was dealing with, I did not hesitate to state that I would be happy to pay an additional amount for the painting, understanding that this was a last-minute request on my part. They wound up adding just another $37.00 for the priming and painting which was more than reasonable. Needless to say, I had people over the following Saturday and the kitchen ceiling turned out to be one of the topics of the day. Many of our friends marveled how they couldn't tell that it had been recently repaired. So, my hat off to Glenn and his crew for a job well done with such short notice and for a very reasonable price. It is quite obvious that Glenn knows how to run a successful business and that he really cares about his customers. I will definitely be looking to use them again in the very near future as I have some other miscellaneous house repairs that need tending to.

Glenn, his foreman, Dennis, and all of his workers were professional, friendly, and courteous to me and my staff. They were respectful of the fact that a business was running while they worked. They were careful and cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day they were here. Unexpected challenges, like unyielding wallpaper in one bathroom and a kitchen counter that was discovered not to be flush with the wall, were handled smoothly. Glen offered his experience and expertise, without ever being pushy. He was very helpful in selecting material used in the renovation and saved us money without compromising on function and appearance. I have shamelessly taken credit for the kitchen counter top and ladies room vanity that Glenn picked out. The Happy Handyman made this customer very happy!

We realized we weren't able to chop up the limb, remove it, and repair the fence without professional help. We have a large dog that enjoys running in our fenced in yard but couldn't let him out because I was afraid he would try to leave through the hole created by the fallen limb. Since we had previously used Glenn's company and were very satisfied with the results, I called and explained our emergency. The limb fell on Sunday afternoon, Glenn was in the yard removing it and repairing the fence by 8 AM Monday morning. We couldn't have asked or expected better service.

Glenn responded to our initial request and subsequent inquiries in a timely fashion. He went over and above to find just the right hinges and bulbs for our office. He was fair and professional. I will definitely use his services again.

I called Happy Handyman to request an estimate for replacing the boards on my 10' x 20' deck. The previous owner used untreated boards and some got rotten to a point of breaking down if someone walked on them so it rendered it unusable.They explained they'd call me back once Glenn would be able to stop by. They were very accommodating to my schedule since I'm usually only home after 6 pm.We had to reschedule once but they were very professional and called to reschedule so I'd not be sitting at home waiting for them.On schedule Glenn came by on time and provided a thorough explanation of what he was going to do and how it was going to be done.He also explained that if they found anything else that needed to be done they'd not proceed without talking to me first. HIs estimate for the work sounded reasonable to me so I told him to proceed.His crew was already doing some work in a property in the same town so he was able to fit me right in.In the first day one of his team members came in and removed all the boards from the deck as well as the railings.During the process he found another rotten joist that would need replacement. Glenn called me as promised and gave me 2 options for fixing it. He explicitly said he would not proceed until he heard from me.Once we agreed on the fix his replaced the joist, put the new boards, reassembled the railings and power washed it as agreed. They'd have done the whole thing sooner but had to stop because of the rain. Glenn made a point to let me know they had to stop and would come back the next day to finish it. They even fixed a few extra things in the deck free of charge. Also they not only replaced the stairs' boards but completely rebuilt; the original was kind of half baked.When they were done they cleaned everything and left no traces they were ever there.Glenn and his crew are professional, courteous, attentive to detail; it's clear they take pride in their trade.I'm definitely planning to use them for future jobs and highly recommend them to anyone that needs a handyman.

We were extremely pleased with all the work that was done for us from beginning to end. The workers were very professional and friendly; our satisfaction was their primary concern. Not only did Glenn complete the work as contracted but fixed additional problems that we didn't even list. We are presently compiling our next list and are looking forward to working with him again. We would highly recommend Happy Handyman Service to anyone who needs work done.

I thought his price was fair, it didn't seem crazy and he wasn't all about his price. I thought he was friendly, seemed to know what he was doing and was a good resource for us for general household repairs. We thought he was great. I called him once and he was out sick, he gave me a recommendation for someone else, who was fine too. I need to call Happy Handyman Service LLC again. He does respond, but with it being a small business you don't always get an immediate person when you call, a lot of times you get a message. For a small business, I thought he was responsive enough. I would love to talk to a person when I call. Sometimes you do get a person, but a lot of times you don't. They do call back in a few hours. He gives you a time frame and he keeps it. If he is going to be late he will call. They will give you more because they are that way and that tends to take up more time. He stays in touch with you. He is very professional.

Glenn is Fantastic. We felt that Glenn's top priority is to have happy customers; he is very accommodating, fair and a real professional that goes above and beyond. He gave a very detailed price quote that included a detailed account of the work that will be done; the cost of labor, material and tax- including “worst case scenario” amounts. His team was always punctual and worked professionally and clean and were done with the work on time as promised. We are very happy with all the work that was done and are defiantly recommending Glenn to our friends and will work with him on any other home projects we have in the future

My husband and I were very satisfied not only with the job that was done, but impressed as well with the staff that works for Glen at the Happy Handyman Company. We had a lengthy visit getting our estimate done with Glen giving us a chance to get to know him. The job took a little longer than everyone expected because the porch was in much worse shape than expected. We had to go over the original estimate due to extra materials that needed to be purchased, as well as labor. Glen was good enough to throw in a few extras on his own to make the job complete. We are all ready planning our next job, knowing we are in great hands!!! Don't hesitate to use this contractor. Even if it may take a bit to get him there (good people are always busy).

A pleasure to deal with. Glenn listened to what I wanted done, offered options with explanations about pros n cons and gave a quote for what I decided I wanted. When we informed them we wanted to have the work done they came within about a week to start and completed the job in a timely manner given there were delays due to rain. Glenn was always available to answer questions and made sure we were satisfied. Based on talking to him we added the cleanup / painting of the gutters and window area to the original qoute and were very happy with the result - two areas that used to look bad now look much better.

It turned out very well. I would recommend them. They have been great. We used them before, so we knew what to expect.
