Glenn and his associate, Don,came by appointment to look at the job and then returned by appointment to do the work. Don found the problem, which 2 previous contractors had failed to do. He worked carefully to correct it. They had to leave the job for a brief time to secure materials, but returned promptly and finished work. They took the time to show me the problem and explain the solution. Came on time, worked well, finished promptly and cleaned up. They had no problem with returning at my request to remedy a minor imperfection. Price was reasonable, given labor and materials involved. A good company to do business with, I certainly recommend them.

Did an excellent job. They did go over and above and spend a good amount of time in installing gates the right way. The gate set-up was complex as it was done on stairway baluster supports that were uneven both vertically and horizontally. They also helped us with multiple other things like the garage door opener, thermostat etc. and answered a lot of my questions as a new home owner.

Glenn, the happy handyman, is quite remarkable at his craft. He gives you his expert opinion as he helps you formulate your ideal home upgrade while never making you feel like your clueless or out of your element. We were having a problem with our kids' bathroom and wanted to enhance their "shower experience" (that is: we wanted them to like THEIR shower more than ours).Glen respectfully informed us that we had purchased an inferior product from the local hardware store and advised us to get a better, more durable brand. The hardware was also quite aesthetically pleasing. He installed shower head and faucet effortlessly and efficiently handled a pipe problem that we had. We were impressed and asked him to help us with the plumbing upgrades for my medical office renovations. Early the next morning, he selected medical grade hardware/ fixtures that were absolutely thrilling for us. His expertise has enhanced the appearance and function of an important part of our cosmetic surgery practice. Glen Mudrick and the Happy Handyman service create a comfortable, professional and refreshing experience while providing high quality service. I have referred many of my friends and colleagues and recommend this service without reservation.

Based on my initial experience of him not showing up for the scheduled appointment and the fact that he didn't even call, I obviously won't pursue this any further. Too bad, I was really hoping he'd be someone we could have used. Very disappointed.

He is good, but expensive. He is customer friendly and comes in uniform.

Glenn was scheduled to be at my house between 8 - 9 a.m.; his wife called about 8:30 and said they would be late; arrived about 9:15 a.m. He had not bought the paint for the powder room and left to go purchase it; when he didn't come back in about 1 1/2 hours; one of the crew called him, and he said he had been called away to an emergency and asked the crew member to go buy the paint. By this time it's 11:00 a.m.; consequently, we did not have the paint for the powder room until after lunch. The crew member was able to prep the walls until he went to get the paint. I understand that emergencies happen and we have no control over them; that being said; when you're in business and on a job you should call and let the crew as well as the client know that you have been called away and ask someone else to go buy the paint. How long would we have had to wait if the crew member had not called him? I let him know on Friday (8/13) what color(s) I wanted for the 2 rooms and you show up on Monday with only one color; that's just not good business!! Overall, the paint job was pretty good, we had to do some touch-ups (paint from the room on the trim) but not too many. The two men doing the painting were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. A job that should have taken probably about 4 1/2 to 5 hours wound up taking about 8. Glenn seems to be a nice man, and I was disappointed that he did not come back to inspect the crew's work. He did call me the next day, but that's not the same as looking at the work. I'm paying good money; I expect you to show up on time and ready to work (have the necessary materials) because when you're finished with the job; I will have your money ready; you won't have to wait for it. I have read the response and stand by my report.

Eventually, I called around to get some advice from lamp and iron artisans and of course they all said they needed to see the chandelier in person. SO... Glenn came back over to take down the light. It was another time-consuming process, as he had to cut all those tiny little zip ties! SO... after showing the chandelier to various vendors, it was time to reinstall the light. Glenn went through that process all over again... again, using a bunch of tiny zip ties to make everything perfect. He is so attentive to the details... he treats everything like it's his own home, and he wants everything to be perfectly flush, level, tightened, etc. Plus, his eye sees things that I haven't learned to look out for yet. (THE IRONY: it turns out the antique chandelier -- which was a gift -- was handmade. Multiple vendors said that re-welding the arm and redoing the wiring could actually make things worse, and that it wasn't worth the $$$$ to attempt it. I can't believe I had to ask Glenn to redo the job he never needed to undo in the first place! Glenn was great about it -- he didn't make me feel like an idiot. ) Here's another way that Glenn is so helpful... as new homeowners, my husband and I have so many questions about what we need to repair or improve things around our house, how much things will cost, etc. Glenn is always willing to spend the time to explain things in the simplest terms possible... in fact, I think he enjoys educating us and making us better homeowners. He is also willing to give me really specific directions for the things I want to try myself (I'd love at accomplish at least one DIY project in my life, darn it!)... he even took care of the measurements for me for one project so that I am less likely to botch it. (Just goes to show that he'd rather I be a happy and educated client than he make every single dollar he could from us. He could have said, "Oh... there's no way you can do this..." and I would not have known better.. and I'd be paying him to do the job. Instead, he said, "Sure... you could do this... here's how." Bottom line, he's got as much integrity as he does know-how... I'm so appreciative!

Overall all was taken care of. There were some unforseen problems that took a little longer, but was well handled. We would use the service again.

Although the owner initially estimated he would not be able to get to us until August,he surprised us by fitting us into his schedule in mid-July. The two-man team showed up at about 11 AM, jumped right into the work, and blazed through the job in a little over two hours. I came out several times to watch how quickly the roof/joist repairs were being handled -- it was like watching a time-lapse film. I give them bonus points for coming up with a paint that matched the color of our weather-beaten trim exactly, and for properly rehanging a gutter whose bad slope caused the water damage under the shingles in the first place. They were friendly and polite; and despite the incredible heat that day were eager and enthusiastic about the work.

The completed work was excellent and done on-time! The deck looks new, better than new. They even included small repairs, such as pounding in loose nails and replacing screws where needed. They also washed some deck furniture which also looks great now. I did not even know how dirty it had gotten. The overall result was fantastic. Several neighbors have commented on how good the deck looked. I will definitely use him again.

Glen arrived when he said he would and even finished the job ahead of time. He was very professional and because no one lived in the townhouse would call me each day to tell me about the progress. I am very impressed and would highly recommend him to my friends or anyone who needed a paiinter.

From the beginning, I was very pleased with the manner in which the job was handled. Glen answered all my questions, explaining in detail what he would do. He matched the red oak wood of the cabinet exactly to the existing wood, taking great pains to make sure the job was done right, even taking the time to talk on the phone to the Lowe's installer to insure that the finished cabinet would fit the new oven precisely. His attention to detail was evident throughout the work he performed. He is a rare individual who takes great pride in his work. He even offered to paint the bottom of the lamp post (which was discolored) to match the upper portion. I was more than satisfied with the work he did and I am looking forward to having him back to do some additional work in the future. I have recommended him to several of my family members, and I urge anyonein need of any type of help to give him a call. You won't be disappointed.

Glenn called back fairly quickly to make an appointment for an estimate. Unfortunately, he decided not to show up or call after keeping me at home waiting for him all day. I followed up two days later with a phone call thinking there may have been an emergency. There wasn't, he just didn't bother.

We just moved to Westfield from the City about 9 months ago to a new house. We did not know any good contractors or handymen, but had quite a few projects and fixes we wanted to take care of. We joined Angie's List and searched around for someone in our area. we found Glenn and his Happy Handyman service and took note of all of his positive reviews and awards. We called Glenn after we moved in to have him give us an estimate on finishing the basement and to give us some ideas on how to proceed. He gave us some great ideas and his price seemed very fair. I kept his card, and another six months later, since we had a bunch of repairs we needed done and a baby on the way, we decided to give him a call again. Glenn is by far one of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of working with and I don't mean just handymen or contractors. Glenn is easy going, polite, friendly, and most of all he treated us like friends and is straight forward in his dealings. I do not like a lot of BS and will not deal with people who I do not think are honest or will take short cuts. Glenn gave precise estimates for EACH job and his prices were very fair. I had no issues parting with my money after the job was done because it was money well spent. Every project that Glen and his crew did turned out to be great. Glenn was in constant contact with myself and my wife and we had no problems giving him the keys to our house to work when we were not home. Not only did he and his guys complete the jobs requested, he also suggested a great storm door which really opened up our kitchen. He also had an idea for a lattice around our deck which turned out great and makes the backyard look really nice. Glenn brought in a crew to redo all the concrete walls in the basement. He did not skimp on material and went out of his way to purchase better materials from stores which were not close by. He came to our house day after day until he was finished. He did not leave the home a mess and did not disappear for days on end without finishing the job. When the job was done, his price was as quoted. We are now hiring him to finish off the rest of the basement. My wife and I got used to Glenn being around and feel as though we made a new friend. We also had the pleasure of meeting his son who came to work at our house for a few days. Bottom line, if you want the job done right by a good guy, stop your search right here.

He was great. He was very professional and recommended that I go through my homeowners insurance rather than pay out of pocket. I wouldn?t have known that if he hadn?t suggested it so I was really thankful. I ended up selecting a different contractor.

Glenn & his crew of happy handyman service were very professional, punctual, friendly & helpful. He completed the task at hand within commited time frame & the end product looked very clean and neat. Glenn's experience in painting helped us greatly when he noticed the selected paint shade for kitchen walls looked extremely dark.. Instead of continuing painting those walls, he redirected his crew to other tasks, immediatley informed us about his concerns, suggested alternatives & finished it after we chose the appropriate shade. As said above, Glenn is just wonderful. So helpful and down-to-earth. Very patient while I waffled on paint colors... even though my waffling meant that he had to make an extra trip to the paint store. He's also chock-full of advice for those who need to learn more about home repairs, but he won't make you feel like an idiot for asking basic questions! There's a reason why so many of Glenn's clients give him keys to their homes... they know they can count on him to get things done -- and done well. Whenever my husband and I talk about home projects, our conversation always ends with, "Well, let's call Glenn." He's our answer for everything!

I left a message on Glenn's machine and he called back that night to schedule a walkthrough. He came a couple of days later. I was impressed by the length of time he took in each room, the questions he asked, the suggestions he made and the detail of the notes he took. He sent me an estimate by email the next day which I felt was reasonable so we scheduled him to come and perform all the work. Glenn showed up on time as planned, along with Dave. The two of them worked for the entire job, which took about three weeks overall, with Thanksgiving and snow days breaking up the time. Glenn had two other people who worked for one or more days and a carpenter who came when needed. They always arrived on time and were unfailingly polite and accomodating. Glenn is very particular about leaving the job site clean and tidy at the end of each day. There was a lot more work than I had anticipated, as the house had not been painted in some time, and required a extensive patching and smoothing prior to painting. Additionally we were having the windows replaced and new siding installed, which unfortunately (due to the longer than expected lead time on the siding) took place at exactly the time Glenn was working in the house. This meant that minor damage - like nail pops and wall cracks - were constantly happening in rooms Glenn had just finished, due to the siding guys hammering on the outside of the house. Glenn and his crew took this in their stride, and just went back and fixed the problems. He really IS the Happy Handyman. We also had Glenn do some work that was not in the original scope, such as painting some closets and staining the new bay window. He adjusted the invoice afterwards for this new work, and I was satisifed with the price. In two rooms we had 40 year old metallic wallpaper which was so well bonded to the wall that he could not remove it using the steamer or chemicals, so it was removed literally by brute force, one small piece at a time. In another room I had Glenn remove the panelling; once the panelling was down we discovered that excessive glue had been used when it had been put up, leaving a great deal of hardened glue to be removed and spackled over. Black paint had been used under the panel joins, and this required several coats of sealer and primer to cover over. I estimate these unexpected surprises caused Glenn to spend about three extra days he had not planned on. But he honored the original quote for this work. Glenn did everything we had contracted for, and more. He takes great pride in his work. It was a real pleasure to have him and his crew work on the house, and we are delighted with the results.

Glenn responded quickly to our phone call and got the work done within a week of the estimate. As usual Glenn and his workers are pleasant, efficient, and clean-up wonderfully after they are done with the work.

Glenn and his team are very friendly and always made an effort to make sure I was happy. They had some scheduling conflicts at the beginning, and he did his best to make sure I was a priority. I hired him initially to just to move my attic stairs in the garage, put up the crown molding and spackle my doorways. He and his team were careful to listen to my suggestions and took the time to make sure that the placement of the new attic stairs would allow for me to install a new garage door opener where one couldn't be positioned previously. While installing the new attic stairs, he found part of my attic above the garage to not be nailed down to a support beam properly and he did this at no charge. He also painted the new attic molding and bottom at no charge, and spackled an additional doorway at no charge. I also had him assemble a grill for me, which he was very reasonable with his price considering the time it took to put together. The only criticism I had was that a couple of his guys forgot to put down a tarp when cutting the attic, and sawdust covered a few of my things in the garage. When I told him about it, however, he immediately had one someone clean off the equipment. It goes to show that he really cares about the quality of work he does and definitely made me feel like he put the customer (me) first.

Great. Glenn and his crew were wonderful, reponsive, efficient, clean and incredibly helpful in a time of great need. We invited my mother-in-law to move in with us, which meant she would be moving into our guest room. Part of basement was partially finished so we decided to finish it and put the daybed and other furniture from the guest room down there as a tv/guest room. We needed a fairly rapid turn-around since it all came about rather quickly.Glenn worked around all of our issues regarding time and money. He made it much less stressful than it otherwise could have been. He is a godsend--I am so glad we found him. The added bonus is that he is a terrific guy. I know he will be back over and over again since we have lots to keep him busy!

I contacted Glen based on the positive reviews shared by members. We had been away for a couple of weeks and due to wind and other factors our gutters were damaged. I contacted Glen on a Saturday morning he came over on Sunday assessed the damage and provided a fair estimate on what it would cost to make the repair. I am very happy with the service Glen provided and would highly recommend him.

We had purchased an Anderson 4000 storm door from Home Depot thinking that we could install ourselves. When we realized how much work it would take to install I called Glen after reading the numerous positive reviews from Angie's List. We thought that it would be a straight forward installation but because we live in an older home the storm door was not a perfect fit. Glen advised on the carpentry work required (which was to very carefully cut out a bit of the molding around the front door). They were able to accommodate us the next day with a skilled carpenter and also get the door installed. They were courteous, thorough and respectful of the woodwork of our 200+ year old home. The storm door fits airtight. They explained every detail of what they were going to do and went above and beyond. They weather sealed our front door and carefully painted and touched up the molding around the door. We are very happy with the way the door looks and are grateful to Glen and his crew for their work.

They turned up on time and were very knowledgable. The planter needed much more work than anyone had anticipated, but they were able to make good suggestions on the repair and to carry out their suggestions, The carpentry work was excellent. They were also pleasant to have around.
