 + 0 moreVery well! He showed up several times during the construction of my disability ramp to plan out his part of the work. It was the end of the building season, we had ice and snow already-it could have derailed the final product, but Mike made sure he worked it so the project was a success! We made it just before the heavy frost came in. If you have a tight deadline and want a real hands on person - Mike Downes is the best!
Description of Work: Needed to have an access walk built. It was to run from a newly constructed ramp to the curb.

Description of Work: Mr. Downes has completed multiple projects for me over the past probably 20 years. This project involved completely dismantling, block by block, 60 feet of my retaining wall and repairing spalling on my garage. Every block of the wall was painstakingly removed, cleaned and stacked; the base was then re- leveled and each block re- glued and perfectly re- aligned. Not ONE block was damaged in any way and the wall is now restored to its' original condition. The exterior of the garage belied the extent of the damage, but it was all perfectly repaired. Both Mr. Downes and his son worked diligently, independently and with the seamless expertise I have come to so value. The project started on time; we were never left "wondering" where they might be, was finished in good time and again, with the expert craftsmanship and pride sustained by them over our years together.

 + 0 moreExcellent, excellent job. Would definitely use Mike again and would highly recommend. I needed to get this repair done (quickly) for the sale of a home and had no idea who to call. Found Downes Construction on Angies List. Got a few estimates and very glad I chose Downes Construction. I found Mike to be very honest and very reliable. He offered suggestions - which proved to be helpful, but was not pushy at all. Price, I thought was reasonable and matched estimate. Answered or returned all calls promptly. Mike worked with my schedule to get this done in time for my closing date. He worked in the 90+ degree heat with no complaints. I was extremely impressed by the quality of work and loved that all debris really was removed - he left it extremely neat. Quality work, honest, reliable - what more can you ask for? I would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Repaired sections of front sidewalk that was being raised by tree roots. Removed existing concrete slabs, cut & removed tree roots, re-poured concrete for new slabs. Excellent job. Looks wonderful. All debris was removed - very neat. Dealt directly with Mike from estimate to doing the job. Price, I thought was reasonable & matched estimate. All calls answered and returned promptly. Punctual - on-time for appointments. Paid attention to detail - which showed in his work.

 + -1 moreWe were walked through the permitting process which was great since we did not have the experience for that. Work commenced as scheduled. Job site kept clean and neat as the debris was taken away. The porch as rebuilt and the brick and stone steps applied. The board between the old porch and the house had deteriorated and needed to be replaced. New flashing was applied and then a long lasting material applied. We were happy that that the Company had the skill to do it. Final inspection was scheduled. Not only was the work fantastic, but we were guided towards the materials that made the porch and steps really more than we thought we could have. Would recommend them hightly.
Description of Work: Removed exsisting brick steps and porch and replaced with new material. Took debris away.

Description of Work: Installed concrete apron in driveway adjacent to garage door. In order to do this, ripped up and removed 3ft. x 16ft of blacktop and excavated to 6 in. Arranged to have concrete poured and then provided finishing to poured concrete.
