GREAT..they came out within 30 minutes of being called and fix

He did the work quickly and I was ultimately pleased to have a working A/C unit, but after the fact did some research on the cost of the capacitors, etc and was disappointed to learn how much other people paid for similar work here on the Angie's list forums. I am NOT accusing GRC of any wrong doing because I am not an electrician or an HVAC specialist by any means, I can only go by what I was told and the research I did. Like I said the technician was very nice, very professional, and I have been please ultimately with the service they provided. I would be happy to edit my review if I get a better explanation of the charges.

I contacted them on Angie's List and they said they would call me back on Monday. I then emailed them again on Monday morning and I did not hear back. I then called again and they said thy would call me back. They then called me back and they told me that they were not doing new installations despite advertising for them.

The tech came out and diagnosed the problem, and was able to fix it on the spot. The technician was very nice and professional. Price was fair for the work done.

The salesman arrived promptly at the time scheduled to provide a cost and time estimate to replace our old gas boiler. He was polite and friendly, checked out the old boiler and its location to determine what size boiler would be required and what work would be required to install it and meet all code requirements. He provided me with a quote for a specific boiler that included any additional parts that would be required and the total installation cost. He also gave me the approximate installation date and the time required and said the installation date would be finalized once I accepted the contract and provided the downpayment. After I accepted the contract and made the downpayment the installation date was set. The installation crew arrived on the date and time given me. They worked efficiently and with minimal disturbance completing the installation and testing of the system in the time stated. They removed and handled the disposal of the unit and cleaned up any boxes, scraps, etc leaving the area as clean or cleaner than it was before they started work. Any questions I had they politely and promptly answered. The company assisted with obtaining the necessary permits and the homeowner's registration with the product manufacturer.

The agent test the whole AC system and since it was old and not performing properly gave recommendation and quote the next day for a new AC system.

Good, recommended replace or maintain status quo

Work was done quickly (next day), and effectively. After research the price was high on the part, compared to some other sources online -- but I was desperate for the work to be done quick and the they happened to have the part on hand. I suppose that is just good old fashion supply and demand. They were extremely responsive both to questions, and to actually scheduling the work. Shop is run very well.

They seemed knowledgable but were not very thorough in checking my attic fan when compared to a couple of electricians I had checking it. The estimated called for a new fan when in fact just the thermostat needed to be replaced. I also thought their estimate for leveling of my outdoor compressor was too high.

Giuseppe arrived on time, was neat and courteous. He diagnosed my system problem in a short time and provided insight on how my system was working. Excellent!

I called GRC when my regular HVAC company did not answer the phone on a Friday night after hours. We were leaving for vacation the next morning and needed a leaking condensation drain fixed immediately. Joe answered the phone and talked me through describing the issue and then had me text him photos. He wanted to be certain that they brought whatever was needed to fix it. He came over very quickly and the problem was a bit worse than expected. In fact, he was preparing to cancel his Friday night plans to stay and fix it. But fortunately, he was able to find a solution and the repair was complete. We were able to go on vacation with our minds at ease. I cannot recommend GRC enough, especially Joe (the service manager).

Provider was amazingly fast in accommodating a same day service call within less than 2 hrs of phoning them! The technician, John (?), was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and he explained the exact nature of the problem, how and why it occurred, and suggested a way to prevent problems in the future. He also cleaned up the accumulation of dirt around one of the main wires to the unit, which could have led to corrosion of the wire and a major future repair. He offered us the option of having a maintenance plan, which would save us money on the cost of the initial needed repair, rendering the plan almost self-paying. We went for it, and this will also mean that future repairs during the plan's term will be discounted. But the entire experience was, at the same time, non-pressured. Our blower fan unit was installed backwards so that accessing it to clean it was difficult for the technician, but he remained in good spirits about this inconvenience, whereas some technicians would raise a real fuss about having to climb over the unit to clean it. All in all, this was a very positive experience, and left me feeling confident that our AC unit was in good hands. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending GRC to friends for AC repairs. I don't know if they are necessarily the cheapest provider around for what we had done (even with the discount on repair), and whether we will really make full use of the maintenance plan, but since they were so accommodating and fast, we wanted to accept their plan to establish a good business relationship with the provider so that in the future, if we need help in a hurry, we wouldn't have to scramble to find someone to come out on short notice, not knowing who or what sort of provider we were dealing with. There are certain things, like AC, that you don't want to be without for any length of time, and so it's important to establish a relationship with a reliable provider. I think GRC will be that provider for us for the foreseeable future.

One of the best contractors we have ever worked with. Came very quickly to give estimate, gave us a start & finish date and stuck with the dates. Installers very professional, and clean. They came out quickly; a nice person cleared out the reported clog and seemed to think all would be well. Shortly after the person left, leak as back on as soon as I turned on the A/C again. They quickly responded to my concerns, and a sr manager with the business talked with me and the sent out another person. They advised and I agreed that it would take a new replacement to fix the problem, as my systems was 30 years old. They provided quite fair and reasonable options and plans to replace the system, and provided a partial refund of the cost of the initial visit. In summary very professional trust worthy and reliable; I would use again.

The work performed was done properly and timely. Experienced a slight miscommunication with the 1st technician, but received a call from one of the service manager and he was able to reserve all my issues and concerns. I was impressed with how this company cared about their customer's experience and step up to ensure my satisfaction. I will be doing business with this company again and will be recommending them to my fellow Glen Rock residence.

The technician was thorough and provided great service, was able to resurrect what looked to be a dead AC system.

They are very responsive and nice. Came on time and did the work. I just bought my house so I don't have much experience. I thought they were overpriced. Businesses in NYC pay less for servicing then i did for the house service call.

6/11/2015 My Husband made appointment with Fred for 11 AM Today , He told my husband, it may be 15 min early or 15 minutes later, any later than that he would call We work in same town we live in so we are literally 3- 5 minutes drive from our home... My husband went home 10:25 for the appointment. At 10:40, I notice a call on my cell, I listen to message it from Fred He says he is outside my house ringing the bell knocking on the door Nobody Home and he is leaving and to call him later and he will try to come back. the time stamp is 10:29 so i call my husband hoping he caught Fred in time and the answer was no..so Fred was gone before my husband got there at 10:30 for an 11 am appointment. So my Husband calls him back No answer Leaves a message . I speak to Fred at 11: 08 i tell him my husband is still waiting at the house. He then calls my husband back he says he will be back at my house in about 15 minutes he never shows. Nothing but a hassle. By the way this way to give a quote to install a new central air unit.

My furnace died in the dead of winter-2 degrees that morning. A representative from GRC showed up an hour after I called that morning after searching here in Angie's list and PSEG gave me an indefinite appointment of 12 hours later. Long story short, they were so professional and scheduled our furnace replacement for the next morning. I would definitely recommend GRC. They were terrific and so far so good.

It went well, they came soon after I agreed to the job. The evaluation and sizing and installation were all professional, with the installation 2 days after the evaluation.

Our heating system began to malfunction on one of the coldest days, and we were so glad that the GRC technician was able to come on such short notice. He was able to quickly run some test and get the unit working right away. He showed us which part he believed to be defective and even provided a workaround as it needed to be ordered the following day. They quickly followed up the next day and provided the quote for replacing the parts and labor.

We did not go heir prices were 15-20% higher than other providers.

I contacted a few HVAC firms with good Angies List ratings. We ended up choosing GRC to replace our AC/Furnace based on the comfort level that we developed with Freddy. From our initial phone call, Freddy was nothing but professional. We purchased a home with furnace and AC units that were 30+ years old, and we wanted both units replaced day 1. Freddy showed up when agreed for the estimate and took his time to walk us through what we needed done, why we actually need smaller units, and provided us a range of units that could meet our needs. We did not feel pressured by Freddy to make a decision on the spot and he even came back for a 2nd consulation when we had additional questions. Once we made our decision on units, he did not try to upsell. We also appreciated that Freddy pointed out poor gas piping work done by the previous owner. Installation was seamless. We were repainting the house and Freddy's team made sure that the furnace was working day 1 so the paint dries properly. In addition, GRC fixed the gas pipe issue pointed out by Freddy. All in all, I was very impressed with GRC!

We were not getting heat in certain rooms in the house. They arrived the same day I called and fixed the vents that were causing the problem. They were very professional and fixed the problem. They are very trustworthy. I strongly recommend this to company to anyone that has heat or air conditioning problems.

Freddy was supposed to come between 2 and 3pm. He showed up at 3:10pm, which was not a big deal, except we had scheduled another contractor between 3 and 4pm. I asked Freddy if he could grab a cup of coffee and come back as I was busy with another contractor. He agreed, but he never came back and never called to reschedule.
