+ -1 moreI purchased a 2 story chimney liner from Approved Chimney through an Angie's List deal. When I contacted Vick, he said that he would not up-charge me for doing my chimney even though It's a 3 story house. When Vick came to my house to do the inspection he said that he would not be able to preform the work up to code because of how my water heater had been installed, and did not want to do work at any lower quality. Thus he would not be able to do the job. He then completely refunded the purchase of the deal. I applaud him for his professionalism in assessing the job, and for his willingness to honor the deal while the job was going to be more than the letter of the deal.

+ 1 moreThese guys are great. We first had them come for a chimney cleaning and inspection - they were honest with the work that needed to be done and didn't try to force additional services on us. We just had them back to install a new liner and they did a great job. They are on time, quick and efficient and extremely clean. Throughout the entire process they were sure to keep me informed of what they were doing and explain their work including before and after photos. Their prices are fair and the quality of work is excellent.

+ 1 moreVery happy by the quality of service, responsiveness and Vick's time spent explaining what they would do and why they would do it that way. He also installed the fireplace doors for no added cost. The doors took a while to arrive, so he even came back after the job was finished to install the doors. Unlike most contractors, Vick came out to provide the estimate initially and was also involved in the actual job. I was not able to be there on the day, so he sent me photos from his phone during the installation process.
Description of Work: Lined fireplace flue with Thermocrete ceramic flue liner and furnace flue with stainless steel. Also installed two caps on top and installed fireplace doors (purchased separately).

+ 1 moreWe were left confused as to what exactly was inspected and if the draft was checked. I called because I wanted either a report or verbal clarity about the work performed and findings. I am not feeling very good about hiring them for more work because I am unsure as to what was already done. For consumers, it would be good to know if we are set to use the fireplace or not. If there was further analysis needed, I would have been happy to discuss adding onto the package. There seemed to be inadequate communication between the office and the workers who actually showed up. We hired the company so we could have a thorough cleaning and inspection and know what if anything is needed with a goal of being able to use the fireplace. All we know now is a lining is needed. Our goal was thus not accomplished. It would have been nice if the office responded to our inquiry.
Description of Work: They showed up and took pictures of the chimney. There was some confusion about the services to be rendered. We were under the impression we would be getting a thorough inspection and cleaning so that we would be ready to use the chimney and fireplace. The guy installed the cap as purchased and did some sort of inspection. We received a quote for the lining that was needed. we were considering hiring them for same, but I couldn't reach them on the phone and my message has been unreturned.

They rolled up carpets and placed drop clothes where they were working and cleaned up any/all of their work debris. They were efficient and pleasant the whole time (a few hours for complete job). All contact with the company via email, was prompt and clear. Very happy with the service. I will be recommending these guys to my neighbors, and calling them back for regular cleanings from now on. + 2 moreVick told us he would come to the house between 10am-12pm, he arrived at 9:15am! Talk about punctual, he was early! Which was great because the job was done that much sooner.He unloaded his van started in the basement, went to the roof (removed our stupid large antennae from 1950! free of charge) and then went into our living room. We just got our wood floors in the house done and Vick and his team kept everything neat and clean! I couldn't be happier. Such a nice guy and so willing to work with his customers! A+++
Description of Work: We had an issue with carbon monoxide as our furnace flue was clogged with debris. Our home was built in 1915 so everything is very old. Vick came in to give us an estimate on new flue liner, cap and cleaning. His prices were excellent and he was not pushy in terms of telling us we needed to get more work done than necessary. After a few quotes from other company's we called Vick in and he replaced he liner on the furnace side as well as the fireplace side of the chimney. We have a beautiful new cap and dampener set that will finally keep the birds out!

Vick is one of the honest good guys in this industry! I also want to add that Vick the owner was at my house the entire time his crew was working. + 0 moreApproved Chimney installed a 40+ ft Chimney liner from my roof down to my basement of a 3 story building. My property is an old brownstone row home and therefore to reach the room they had to carry the hardware supplies through my home. Approved Chimney used drop clothes and made sure the workers didn't scratch or dirty the floors and walls. All duct work in my basement (3 water heaters and 1 boiler) were connected to the new stainless steel liner. The rain cap was installed on the liner at the roof along with installing a new raincap on a secondary chimney on my property. They also swept the chimney from any loose debris all while keeping my home clean free of soot.

+ 0 moreI needed a cap on my chimney. I called Mr. Vick Jakupi of Approved Chimney and he offered to come out the next day to do a free estimate. He said he would be there between 1 PM and 3 PM. He came within that time frame, had the materials on his truck, and was able to do the installation in no time. In addition, he inspected my fireplace and furnace chimney to insure that there were no blockages before doing the cap installation. He actually took photos to show me the condition of the chimney. I was impressed with his appearance as well as his politeness and manner of doing business. I would definitely call on him again if I need any further chimney work, and I am recommending him to my neighbors.
