Excellent. Finished the job on schedule and without any issues. Turned out exactly how we wanted.

As far as the repair went and cost = totally fine and so far so good What I didn't like was how I had to track the owner down and get a date to get things fixed as well as a quote. Once that was all completed things went fine. Had a very difficult time having anyone commit to fixing my problem to begin with so all things saying would probably hire again.

Dave's crew was professional, efficient , punctual, & thoroughly cleaned up when the job was completed. Dave completely understood my vision and now my home is the envy of the neighborhood. I will be recommending Benchmark Company to anyone in need of a quality home improvement.

After 30 years the wood siding on our house badly needed to be replaced ,so we decided in early 2016 to start the search for a company who could help us replace the old siding with new vinyl siding. One of the first people we contacted was David Carman of Benchmark Siding. We have noticed his work over the years as he has re-sided many of the homes in our town of Hillsborough, and we were always impressed with the quality of the work. We met with Dave and he proceeded to educate us on what types of vinyl siding products were on the market and how they were applied. Making sure we did our due diligence we also met and received estimates from three other siding companies along with performing our own research online (e.g. Angie’s List). At the end of the process, we selected Benchmark, it was an easy choice. Dave was extremely professional providing us with a list of references along with a copy of his insurance, and NJ State License. We really felt comfortable with Dave and liked the fact that he lived nearby and was an integral part of the community. He gave us the addresses of his previous siding jobs to help us decide on which style and color of siding to choose. This was very helpful. As we got into greater detail on the project, it was apparent that Dave has a lot of experience and is extremely knowledgeable on home construction. He gave us so many great ideas on how we could improve the curb appeal of our house. We ended up having Dave install the vinyl siding along with a beautiful new front door and helped us identify and install trim around the front door and the garage doors. Once completed, our house looked like it was brand new, we were over joyed with the final product, it was stunning and beyond our wildest expectations. I would highly recommend Dave Carman and Benchmark Siding. His price for the siding replacement and door replacement was very fair. He was very patient working with us on all the little details involved in the project, for example trying to decide what type of finish for hardware for the front door. His crew did an excellent job of performing the installation and his foreman Mark was a pleasure to work with. They were professional and meticulous to every detail. We have had so many of our neighbors stop by after the job was completed to comment on how great our house looks.

Dave was professional and responsive. He provided an estimate that was reasonable. The work was completed in a timely manner. All old materials were removed. The crew was neat. Dave also removed an old satellite dish for me on the roof and put flashing down so there wouldn't be any leaks. The white trim and gutters on the house really helps this 22 year old house to look almost like new! I highly recommend Benchmark and would use them again if the need arises.

The owner was responsive and promptly visited the site and provided an estimate. The cost was comparable to others solicited. When David showed up to sign the agreement he realized he made a mistake and had forgotten to include two new windows which increased his original price by almost 5%. The work crews were pleasant and the outcome looks great. My only complaint was that the crew moved all of my personal items from the deck to get access to the house and placed them in the yard full of snow and ice. At the end of the job, I would have expected them to return them to their original locations, but unfortunately they did not. In addition, the crew asked permission to use my bathroom and tracked mud into the house every day. At no point did they make an attempt to clean up the floors after themselves leaving me to do it instead. I found this to be very inconsiderate. Bottom line - great looking work, but their level of professionalism with regards to taking care of cleaning up after themselves needs work.

David was great to work with. He came out to the house for an estimate, and provided detailed information on options and prices. He readily accommodated specific requests I had, and his estimate was right on the money. He's straightforward, responsive, and professional. When work began, his crew was prompt, friendly, and very competent, and they kept the surroundings tidy when they left. Dave himself was away for much of the work, but checked in regularly, and when questions arose, he responded quickly and effectively. I enjoyed doing business with him, and would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Dave Carman is a down-to-earth guy who was a pleasure to deal with during this project. His bid was in the middle of the ones we received. He was always willing to answer questions and explain the various options we had- types of siding, kinds of shingles, pros and cons of one item vs another. Dave never did the hard sell, and that was appreciated. Dave was very responsive and available by cell phone most of the time. I never felt like he was blowing me off, even though I did ask plenty of questions over the course of the project. Many times he would answer his phone, let me know he was tied up at that moment, and ask me when he could call back- -and he always did call back. Dave's crew is a very hardworking group of guys. Most of the work was done in August, and it was tough to install a new roof in that heat. But they just kept at it. They took very few breaks while on the job. They were also very pleasant and willing to explain things when stuff came up. Dave usually stopped by to see the progress and ask if everything was OK. All projects like this have issues that come up. Dave was responsive to addressing them. For example, I felt the last row of shingles in the front of the house hung over the gutter too far. I thought it might be a problem when trying to remove leaves that would eventually end up in the gutter. Dave didn't necessarily agree, but he had the shingles trimmed anyway. To me, the best example of the quality of Dave's and his crew's work is the following. About a month and a half after they completed the project, super storm Sandy hit. Although trees were knocked down very nearby and branches were blown around, we did not lose a shingle or have a piece of siding tear loose.

They did everything right. They performed as scheduled and as promised. David was a pleasure to work with and his crew is top notch, hard working and detail oriented. The working area was kept clean and they delivered a good product.

Our dealings were with Dave Carman the owner. He was very professional and thorough. Explained everything clearly and answered all our questions. The crew worked as neatly as could be and cleaned up after themselves. Have been very happy with the work done.

While we did not use benchmark siding (we are putting it off the time being), it was an absolute pleasure to work with David. He was very punctual and responsive. He was very thorough with the materials and job he would provide. Not only was he professional, but he also provided a very attractive quote for residing the house with hardie board. I felt confident had we used them, I would be extremely pleased with the outcome. I would highly recommend the company and would definitely choose them for my own future siding needs.

Dave made an appointment for 1pm and called stating that he was running late. Then he called at 4:00pm, letting us know he drove by our house, but doesn't want to do business with us. Never stating Why? Furthermore, he never showed up. Very unprofessional, would not recommend this business.

Dave Carman and his crew are amazing. I've recommended Benchmark Siding to several homeowners in my development, and his team did a wonderful job for them as well. His price was very competitive, but not the lowest. His team showed up on-time, and Dave was at my home every step of the project to answer all questions. With any job, there were some small extra tasks that had to be addressed, and he did not change-order me to do the job right. Combine his pricing along with the teams that did the work, and the value exceeded all other contractors that were bidding the work for my home. I hope to upload before -n- after pictures to his website so people can see the transformation of my house. I am now looking to replace patio doors on my home and he is the first person I'm going to call. If you decide to work with Benchmark Siding, you will not be disappointed.

It went extremely well. Dave had the job done when scheduled, and the work was done in a professional manner. In addition, the clean up - an important part of any job that doesn't seem to get discussed frequently in reviews - was also done to satisfaction. I would reccomend Dave to others.

Dave has a great crew who worked fast and efficiently. Came at the the time they said and finished when they said they would. Excellent experience. Would definitely hire again.

Project went well and finished in about 5 days. We are now enjoying the new siding.

Trying not to sound too positive to believe, Dave Carman and his team did a fantastic, professional job from start to finish on our house. All the arrival times for estimates, meets, work, etc were spot-on for when he said they would be. Of the 3 companies we had estimate the job, Dave was easiest to work with - explaining things very well, showing pictures/reviews of work, even arranging us driving over to previous jobs, giving a complete, detailed & honest estimate of the job. No funny business either, like other siding companies that said things like "if you sign now/tonight I'll take $$$$ off the charge!" or "don't worry about those details - we'll handle it and use good materials", etc. Part of this is because Dave is not a salesman. He's a working owner that you'll see often during the job and even pitching in and working on it himself. He has a great relationship with his team, his sub-contractors and develops a good one with the customer too.His estimate was slightly above the lowest we received BUT the products seemed of better quality and the overall sales/estimating process lead us to be very confident and have no reservations about signing on. So we we signed up and within a couple weeks the work started, right when he said it would. The bulk of the work lasted the 10 days or so it was estimated to, some work from sub-contractors followed on a bit (porch, porch railings) as expected. The crew was polite, communicative, prompt & worked almost continuously (short breaks, etc). Every day of the job they tried to neaten up the areas, making things safe & clean wherever possible. The entire job was done on time and on budget and we're obviously very, very pleased with the entire process and the end product.I'd attach before & after pictures but I don't see how:) And its been nearly a year since the work & it still looks new - unaffected by the sun, wind, etc over the last year. We'd not hesitate to recommend Dave/Benchmark Siding to others... In fact neighbors saw the speed and quality of Benchmark's work and signed earlier this Spring for work based on our recommendation. Their work was done as well as ours and they're very impressed and happy with it as well.

Our roof needed repair. I explained that I plan on removing the roof entirely in five years for an addition, therefore I wanted something fairly low cost to get me through the interim. They were able to find the perfect solution: a low-cost, good quality kind of shingles that had actually been discontinued. They tore off two layers of twenty-year-old shingles, and quickly replaced them with the new shingles. I was so impressed with their research and workmanship that I asked them to redo my gutters, which, as I've come now to expect, they did great work on. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a solid roofer with ingenuity to boot.

Dave Carman, the owner, and his crew, were professional, detailed and were skilled craftsmen at their work. Dave was involved from the quoting process and kept in touch with us throughout the job, stopping by most mornings to insure the work was done right and on schedule. Once we decided to move forward, he worked with us to get us scheduled in a fair manner. His team was timely and worked efficiently. We hit a few unexpected rough spots with areas that had some water damage that resulted in additional cost. But the charges were fair to the time spent addressing the repairs. I believe that dealing with the owner of the company from day 1, gives you a good sense of the experience you'll have with the work done. Overall, I would strongly recommend Benchmark for Siding jobs like ours.

I contacted Benchmark siding in May regarding a few window replacements. The owner came to my property approximately one week later to look at the job in order to work up an estimate. He was not only punctual, he was early! After showing him the windows, he suggested that I could save money by replacing two sashes instead of the entire window unit. He also didn't push for the most expensive window and offered options as to replacing two double-hungs. He seemed honest and I felt confident that this was the company for the job. The windows arrived within a month and work began a couple weeks after. The windows were replaced by a Benchmark employee within one day. The owner came out once or twice to supervise the work. The employee was also fastidious when it came to cleaning up after the job was done. There weren't even traces of sawdust. Honestly, I am extremely pleased with the work. The fully replaced double-hungs look beautiful on the outside and the woodwork on the inside is also beautifully done. I've actually spent time sitting and looking at the windows in admiration. The old ones were just ugly. The price was fair, and I will definitely ask them to come back and replace more windows when it is in my budget. Benchmark is a company that values quality. I highly recommend them.

Benchmark was very professional in all their visits. The owner is a very experienced craftsman and he does the estimating, answers questions, describes the work, etc. He kept us in the loop throughout the process. The only delay in completing the work was that we needed a new chimney cap and the subcontractor that did this was quite slow in getting to this. However, Benchmark kept us informed with this detail and did not charge us for this work until well after it was completed. One other thing about the project is that it would have been good to give more detail on the costs of goods vs labor. We had a hard time determining the cost of the windows minus the installation charges for filing the income tax rebate on the energy efficient windows.

Good Luck trying to get a hold of them. I called them several times starting on July 9th and each time I was unable to leave a message. I would get their answering machine which told me to try calling later but if I wanted to fax I could fax them now. On the fourth call I faxed them my contact information and never got a response from them. THAT'S OK, IT'S THEIR LOSS OR MAYBE MY GAIN. UPDATE, JUST SPOKE TO DAVID FROM BENCHMARK AND THEY ARE NOT OUT OF BUSINESS. THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME FREAK ISSUE WITH THE PHONES AT THAT TIME I WAS TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF HIM. IT'S A SHAME THAT THIS HAPPENED DAVID CAME ACROSS AS A VERY NICE GUY AND HE WAS TRULY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE. YOU CAN TELL THAT HE REALLY CARES. AFTER SPEAKING TO HIM I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL HIM FOR AN ESTIMATE ON MY NEXT PROJECT.

Everything went well. Dave is very courteous and was the only person who provided us with an estimate without acting like a salesperson. We never felt pressured by him. He also took the time to discuss our ideas and provided a lot of good ideas of his own. He came by almost every day to supervise his crew (sometimes more). The crew was very courteous as well. Dave was responsive in dealing with any little issues that came up.
