Sorge & Garthe Tile

It was a really positive experience. They really listened to what I wanted done, offering opinions but not trying to get me to do work I didn't want. They discussed problems with me and together we worked out solutions. They were extremely responsive and professional and the work they did was beautiful. I can't think of a single thing I would improve.

Jeff ,Rob,Kipper and Dan as always did an outstanding job. They remodeled our down stairs bathroom in a levitt cape cod style home.They converted our old 1960s pink bathtub to beautiful full shower with glass Easco sliding doors with full tiled walls,niche,grab bars,corner shelf and moen rain shower head and assembly.Replaced 1960s pink toilet with American Standard Cadet and installed a new sink with faucet and cabinet,towel bar,toilet paper holder and mirror.Floor and trim were also tiled.We have had Sorge and Garthe provide us with excellent workmanship,professionalism,attention to detail (a rarity today) and assurence that we got what we wanted.They now have remodeled our two full bathrooms and our kitchen if that doesn’t say it all.Thanks again for the beautiful work and the stress free process always a pleasure to work with 100%

Rob and his team were great to work with. My bathroom consisted of a toilet/shower in one room with the sink outside of the bathroom. My vision was to have a fully contained renovated bathroom. Rob took his time going over the detailed plans with me to ensure I was clear on every step. He stayed in constant contact and kept me fully updated on costs as we went. His recommendations for the tile, marble, faucets etc where excellent. He provided great input on the bathroom design and selections while being mindful of my vision. Overall, I would absolutely use this company again and highly recommend them. It was an pleasure working with them.

Rob is top notch (I particular appreciate his patience with us as we made decisions along the way in preparing the work proposal, and also in working with our tenant who also was inconvenienced by the whole situation). We were able to repair and improve the look and quality of the bathroom, which up to this point was beginning to look dated and drab. He skillfully installed the tile we picked out from Best Tile, including corner shelves and new hardware, and we're very pleased with the outcome. Thanks!

Extremely well. Bob guided me to several good sources to select my granite slab and glass tiles for the backsplash. Once materials were delivered, the entire job was completed within a week. They were on time, extremely helpful and professional. I am very happy with new kitchen.

I could not have been more pleased with the outcome of the project and experience of working with everyone involved at Sorge & Garthe. They took a dated space with Venetian pink fixtures in a 1914 house and returned it to its former glory with fresh new fixtures. In addition to feeling entirely comfortable in my home, they also were very approachable regarding discussing the project, including any modifications to the original plan as we went along. I highly recommend their services and will definitely be using them again.

Rob Garthe and his crew do exceptional work. We had used him for our bathroom remodel last year and were so satisfied that we decided to use him for our kitchen remodel this year. Rob starts out with an extremely detailed proposal. There are no surprises. He pointed out options that we had not thought of, and how that would impact the cost without doing a hard sell. For example, he suggested under cabinet lighting which we had not thought of, and which turned out beautifully, and gives the kitchen an additional wow factor. He pointed out potential problems with our design in terms of functionality and his recommendations resulted in a much better result. The work was done with minimal disruption (he even loaned us a microwave). We couldn’t be happier with the final result, which shows meticulous attention to detail.

Could not ask for more courteous, respectful and responsive contractors. All work was done as specified and the tile was expertly installed. The work took 2+ weeks. We are really happy with the result.

We were interested in purchasing a house that had a large 28 year old jacuzzi soaking tub in a windowed alcove in the master bedroom (not master bathroom -- master bedroom!). We needed an estimate of the cost of removing this monstrousity in order to know how much to bid on the house. After calling several places who refused to work with us, we were happy that Rob Garthe was able to give us an estimate based on the seller's listing photos. After our bid was accepted. Rob came during inspection day to verify his estimate. We were anxious to have the tub removed as soon after closing as possible. He was able to schedule it for the two days following closing. On the evening prior to closing, we found out that the closing (through no fault of our own) had been rescheduled. Rob was able to reschedule the crew, Jeff and Kip, at the last minute to accommodate us. Jeff and Kip were very friendly and professional. Their work was excellent. While they were here, I asked them for help with a few issues with the house. Kip regrouted some of the tile in the entryway and Jeff helped me determine that the nonfunctioning range hood did vent to the outside as I hoped. We will definitely use them again and quite soon for some work in the kitchen and later on in the master bath. The whole experience has been very satisfying.

We can?t thank Sorge and Garthe enough for their work done to our home! We first contacted Sorge and Garthe back in early June as one of three tile contractors to evaluate a shower floor pitched incorrectly. We had a previous contractor that we had to let go of due to poor work. First I spoke to Robert Garthe and gave him some information and sent some photos. Within a couple of days, Jeff Sorge came out for an appointment. He was willing to take on the task of correcting the shower floor. At that time we also asked if he would be interested and willing to complete and correct some of the other issues with our kitchen by the original contractor. Jeff was willing to do this as well which involved hanging a remaining cabinet, correcting and installing crown molding, putting on knobs and pulls on all cabinets, hanging a spice rack, trim work, putting up a glass backsplash and installing a farmhouse sink. We were and are so grateful that they were willing to take this on and fit us into their busy schedule! It?s not easy to have a contractor willing to correct another contractor?s poor work. The other two tile contractors were not interested. Our shower floor is now pitched perfectly and drains properly. The whole floor was dug out and completely redone the right way by Dan. He even replaced the ledge to the shower niche which was pitched incorrectly as well. He put in a marble ledge which looks ten times better. Our kitchen looks beautiful and the workmanship is exceptional, thanks to Jeff. The backsplash looks amazing, thanks to Dan and thanks to Chip who did the grout work! It was such a joy working with the skilled team of Sorge and Garthe! They were professional, polite, neat, competent, patient, but above all so honest. They did not take advantage of our situation, quite the opposite; they got us out of a big mess. Wish we would have hired them to begin with. We would hire them again for any future projects and highly recommend them to others. It?s nice to know there are still some honest, quality contractors out there and Sorge and Garthe are one of them. Thank you again for everything!

I contacted Sorge & Garthe Tile, Inc. via e-mail (early July) after reading reviews here. Shortly thereafter, I was contacted by Robert Garthe. I explained what I wanted (Granite countertop, sink etc.) I then sent him pictures with rough measurements. I was then sent an estimate for the job. It was acceptable and I told him so. He was a bit busy at the time, so I told him we were not in a big rush and he should work us in at his convenience. About a month and a half passed so, I shot him (Robert Garthe) an e-mail asking if we were still on his radar, (my wife was asking). He immediately replied and we were able to get the ball rolling. He told me he was coming on mon. 9/21 to make a template and to have the countertop cleared. He arrived on time and promptly started removing the countertop. Let me add, we wanted to keep the existing backboard tile which could be difficult to do, he had told us. He worked hard and was able to save it minus the bottom row removed for a Granite backsplash. He even saved a few pieces of old countertop and reconnected the sink again so that we had a little useable space. 4 days later, Friday 9/25 the install happened. It went perfectly and is amazing. I would highly recommend Sorge & Garthe Tile, Inc. This is not an easy thing to do and he did it perfectly. We are extremely pleased.

Rob, one of the owners, responded promptly after I called him. He first gave me a rough estimate based on photos I sent him via email. He then came over and took measurements and provided a detailed written estimate. He explained the basis of the estimates, and addressed all my concerns regarding the scope of the work and what the estimate covered. Rob and his crew did a fantastic job on both bathrooms. We couldn't be more pleased. Their workmanship is excellent. Our project included tile work with accent tiles, and building a shower base. They did a beautiful job; tile work is flawless and shows attention to detail. They worked quickly with minimal disruption, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Rob was responsive, made suggestions when needed and communicated with us via email or phone during the course of the project. Working with Rob really allayed my fears of working with a contractor ( we?ve all heard the horror stories) and I definitely will use the company for my future projects.

first I would like to say that it was a pleasure to have found true craftsmen not just contractors. From the start of demolition to the final little details Jeff, Rob, Kipper, Andy and Danny all did a fantastic job. The job was started when planned and during the process {even with a few changes from the initial plan} they never skipped a beat .They would arrived every morning on time and ready to work, any concerns were addressed on a daily basis and each day the site was left clean.We were very pleased with the expert advise given when needed and their eye for detail was a great asset. The bathroom looks great exactly the way we invisioned it.Thanks for a wonderful job and making it a low stress and easy process.Professional craftsmen at a reasonable price are very hard to find if you can find them at all.We made a wise choice thanks again,till next job.

Jeff and his team did an excellent job remaking our kitchen. We are very happy with their work. The whole project went without any delays or hiccup. I would highly recommend them. Jeff and his associates would arrive every day at 8 AM and they did a very professional job. They made sure there was minimal dust in the adjacent rooms. And every day, just before leaving, they made sure the work area was clean. Jeff paid attention to every minor thing in the project and made sure it was properly addressed. For example, Jeff and Rob noticed a dent in one of the water pipes in the kitchen while removing old cabinets and they replaced that portion of the pipe even though it was an existing dent. Every time I tried to reach Jeff before or after the project, he promptly responded and even made a follow up visit to make sure every thing was in proper order.

Robert came out to look at the job in short order. He gave a rough estimate which worked for us. We then got into more detailed planning and prices as we worked together to find the best plan. Both Robert and Jeff were clear and concise when we talked about the job. Once they got going, they were there everyday until the job got done. If something came up that was not in the original plan,whoever was working at the time explained and showed us the problem. They did not do anything additional until we agreed. We were very impressed with the care they took to protect our floors and carpets. They also removed all debris as the job progressed. We were very happy with the final outcome and we will be hiring them in the near future to gut and rebuild our master bathroom.

Everything was perfect. On time, great followup everyday. Took great care to protect the carpet and keep everything clean.

The neatest contractors we've had in the 19 yea in our house. First ones to cover the steps and halls w a plastic strip that gently adhered to the rug. Always prompt and used best products and sent us to very easy to work w tile and plumbing suppliers. They gave us price options and knew we wanted to save if we could and helped us so we could keep the old vanity in the bathroom they were redoing. They could not have been nicer or more adaptable. And the bathroom looks great! And compared to the floor Installer we were using at same time we saw the best and worst of contractors at the same time.

I would highly recommend Sorge and Garthe. They were punctual, polite and most of all, treated my home as if it was their home. My bathrooms look gorgeous! We intend to use them again in the future.

Rob was extremely responsive. I was in a time crunch as I have an older father who needed a first floor bathroom ASAP. When I explained my situation he was extremely helpful and came that day for an estimate and had his workers come out that same week. The job took in total a little less than 2.5 days. They were efficient, but thorough. The finished product was exactly what my husband and I had envisioned. We were very pleased as is my father. I would recommend the company and their services to all friends/family.

They were excellent and the job went very well. I liked their good quality of work.

We had two bathrooms with leaks with one around the shower and the other around the tub. Jeff consistently showed up each day at the time he had advised the day before and cleaned the work are before leaving. He did an excellent job on the tile installation but also needed to do both plumbing repairs (new drain and trap) and a large area of sheetrock replacement on the kitchen ceiling. He did a very professional job (including the tape & spackle on the sheetrock) on everything so is multiskilled beyond just doing tile work. Would definitely use him again.
