I have no bad reviews about this company. We live in a complex where we have an extremely strict HOA and I provided Ion with the guidelines and he took it from there. The company was extremely patient with us as we were awaiting approval to get the work done. Ion was upfront with us when he provided us the quote stating that our HOA may not approval the suggest wood and told us exactly what it would be for another type of wood. The staff was extremely professional and did not need or want for anything. We offered coffee, tea, our house if they wanted to use the restroom and they did not. On day 2 of work we lost power in the complex and the staff kept busy. Amazing work!! I would refer the company to anyone who asked.

Very professional company whose staff's craftsmanship, quality, attention to detail, timeliness and neatness were excellent. The owner works closely with you and helps you work through the many decisions involved in finalizing a deck's spec. No pressure whatsoever. Price point was very competitive. More importantly, the final product was way nicer than envisioned !

Professional all the way. Joe the one who actually built the deck was courteous and very helpful. Any problem was addressed quickly and professionally. Alex the demolition person was also in league with total professionalism. BTW, my wife loves the deck! Thank you Deck Guardian!

I have a lot of good things to say about the Deck Guardian team, which includes Ion (manager), Raul (project manager) and Jairo, the construction lead for the crew that tore down our rotting deck and built an all-weather room and accompanying deck made with Trex materials. - I obtained four bids and estimates for the project and Deck Guardian (DG) was by far the most thorough, professional and impressive. Ion has a great eye and helped point out some possibilities for the new room/deck that we hadn’t considered. - One other bid was a bad sales pitch, another would have required that we separately hire an electrician and someone to do the flooring; DG handled all of the project management and subcontracting. I didn’t have to do anything after hiring them. Price was fair, comparable to the other bids (except the one that wanted to do the job without a permit). - The estimate/quote/bid spelled out every aspect of the materials and labor. It was easy to read and the final cost matched the estimate exactly. - The DG team obtained the permits so I didn’t have to deal with the town (Randolph), and they handled the various inspections. Raul and Jairo were punctual when they first arrived and communicated well about odds and ends throughout. Jairo’s team is hard-working, fast, friendly, efficient, respectful, and they cleaned up supplies and debris after each day. Not every crew will do that. - Raul checked in throughout with notice when to expect inspectors, came out to monitor progress, and Ion checked in too. The team finished a pretty complex project in only about 12 working days. It was pretty darn impressive. Everyone involved was meticulous and clearly had pride in the work; they weren’t just doing the job and checking out. - The final product is awesome, even better than we had envisioned. Our neighbor liked what they saw and called for an estimate for his deck in the front. My wife and I are extremely happy we chose Deck Guardian and we’ll call them back if we ever undertake any home construction project again. - Highly recommended that you consider DG if you’re in the market for a deck, resurfacing, gazebos, etc.

The Deck Guardian team is true professionals and exactly what I was looking around other competitors. I didn't want to hire local guys working off the back of their trucks, this company was highly rated, has showroom, and actual reputation. I did research them a lot and their designs were amazing (check their site and youtube videos). The cost estimate of entire project was reasonably lower than other similar proposals (although not the cheapest around but very reasonable) and the company owner was pleasure to deal with in discussing the colors, options, etc. The brigade arrived on time, demolition of my old deck was completed in under 2 hours and by end of day 1 the new framing was almost done. They used quality materials and the work craftsmanship was excellent. The new deck was completed in under 5 full workdays and we're very pleased with the results. I'd highly recommend this company if you want quality job done for reasonable cost and have some piece of mind as company warrants their work. A+

The owner, Ion, was very experienced and we spent quite a bit of time discussing the project and the various options for getting my desird outcome. The men who came to do the work also worked very hard. But, the problems came in the materials used--I asked for cedar--which were not properly kiln dried. Within days, al the boards began to "cup," which was part of the problem with the old deck (which was 25 years old,so some cupping would be expected at that point). Some of the boards were beautiful looking, while others seemed to be dirty. During the first week, two knots fell out of one of the boards leaving holes. The gate was overbuilt an immediately began to sag. (I had shared photos of gates that I wanted, and which would have been lighter. Finally, part of the design was to keep the original stairs but reinforce by sistering up the stringers. Instead of using one complete piece of wood for each stringer, they pieced together each stringer, making them not as strong or long lasting as they should be. The did rebuild the gate--it took several tries--and wasn't what I had wanted, but I had to accept it and it did work. And they replaced a number of the boards, but not all that needed replacing. A year later I hired a great painter who worked tirelessly to get the wood in a condition to accept an oil coating and eventually we got the deck to look very nice.

It was wonderful working with Deck Guardian. The price was excellent, and the people were professional every step of the job. I recommend them wholeheartedly. Even the Building Inspector told me it was a beautiful job!

My family could not be happier with our new deck from Deck Guardian! From start to finish they were professional. Jon came to our house to hear our ideas and a few days later gave us a fair estimate. His team applied for the permits with the town and began construction a few weeks later. Building team worked hard and got our deck done in three days - it was amazing! All supplies were cleaned up and now our family has a beautiful trek deck that will last for many years. Highly recommend Deck Guardian.

Excellent experience from the quote process to the end of the project. Communication was great. The project started on time, everything was done as promised with the utmost attention to detail, and the crew was extremely responsive and neat. I'm thrilled with the final outcome and would not hesitate to recommend / hire again.

Initial start took a little time due to permits. Tear out of old deck took about a day or two and would have been quicker were it not for a bee hive under the deck. They worked around it and did some pretty great carpentry work. Very neat, organized and cleaned up at the end of the day. Petru who was the lead carpenter had a very high level of skill. On any big job there are always a couple of hiccups and I judge a company on how they resolve the challenging situations as this is when you find out if a company is any good. The vent issue was an example of when they resolved an issue and another was just attaching another length of pipe for me as sump was active after a lot of rain and dumping out into the deck area making a real mess. They put a pipe in for me that took the water out beyond the perimeter of the new deck so it wouldn’t pool under there. The new deck looks awesome and we’re very pleased with how it went from start to end. Ion was also awesome to work with and cant speak highly enough of him. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He even brought us a couple of bluestone slabs for a second set of steps our deck had.....now we don’t have to step straight onto the wet grass. Good people to work with and highly recommend.

And the communication could not have been better - always responding quickly to questions via email and/or text, which made us feel very comfortable. The project started on time, the crew arrived exactly when they said they would, and the deck was completed ahead of schedule! We couldn't be happier with this contractor - probably the best we've ever worked with. If you're looking to have a deck built, this is your guy! (I wish he did patios too!)

Very skilled carpenters. Instant response from the manager when a question comes up. They listen to the customer and do what the customer requests. Proposal is very detailed--it is very clear as to what you are getting. Very Professional employees and company. We are extremely happy with the finished deck--which easily accommodates a Hot Tub/Grill/Patio Set/Glider and Fire Table-- all on a 370 sq ft !

These guys were the best contractors I've ever worked with. Professional, friendly and highly skilled. Plus way, way less expensive than the other 2 quotes I got. I would higher these guys, Ion, Petru and crew every time.
