 + -1 moreGeorge is a great guy and he and his crew did a wonderful job on my installation. I have a 100 year old cottage and nothing off the shelf fits. Not a problem for this company. They rebuilt my entire door surround on the back door and found ways to make the other ones work as well. They came on time and they cleaned up You get want you pay for. I found the prices to be fair for what I purchased. And when I had a small problem with my weather stripping they were back immediately. That's something you don't get from a big box store. I felt extremely comfortable with them in my house. Very professional

 + -1 more.I went to the Door Store showroom, since I needed to replace my old storm door. They were extremely helpful in selecting a storm door for the front of my house. Also needed entry door hardware and a new mail slot. The Door Store had the entry door hardware to match my storm door hardware, but not a mail slot. Without hesitation they recommended a nearby hardware store and allowed me to take the entry door hardware with me to match the mail slot. I was able to get the mail slot that matched perfectly. The owner and installer arrived on time, and was very professional and well experienced in the installation. It is an older home and was not an easy task. It was completed and looked great. He even hung my new mail box for me. All of the old materials were taken away, including the old storm door. . I would not hesitate to recommend this company. Outstanding work.

 + -1 moreOverall, there were a few other unrelated issues. The installer/owner forgot to bring with him brick molding material or aluminum capping to perform the installation. He was initially very frustrated with himself for having forgotten this. He also overlooked the fact that he had not charged me for this aspect on my quote. Another siding contractor was here and he was kind enough to give him the aluminum material he needed to finish the job. He acted quite unprofessional, and frankly whined a lot about how he didn't want to do the capping job. He was begging the other contractor to do it for him, which I thought was weird since they had never met one another. I had a few minor questions about the door after the installation and tried for two weeks to call, leaving messages. The owner did finally call me back, however.
Description of Work: As a part of my package, I paid the store to stain and urethane the fiberglass entry door they installed. There was a problem with dirt on the door during the staining process which meant there were heavy visible and palpable specs that interfered with the stain properly adhering to the door. After several calls to a representative of the retailer, and two calls to the manufacturer, and much website research, I found the info provided to me by The Door Store was largely inaccurrate, and they were hardly responsive or concerned about the issue. They actually were quite indignant when I was reporting my claim to them over the phone. I could not even get accurrate info from them about how to proceed to correct the problem. Their instructions directly contradicted Masonite's reccommendations. A man on the phone at the Door Store told me I can't sand fibergalss, it has to be chemically stripped. I found out later this is not true. Fiberglass must be finely sanded, it says so on the website. It will not stand up to chemical strippers! Good thing I didn't listen to them and attempt it myself. I now will pay professional painters to sand, refinish and urethane my new door at my own expense. I would never use this company again. If you plan to use this company, at least plan to hire professionals to do the staining process for you.
